yeah you are right by luffy is a realy difficult deck but this is a missplay that you cant do he literally stacked his top life 20 seconds before and played the wrong baby that is something that cant happen normally
yeah absolutely no doubt a mistake you gotta avoid, thankfully was still able to recover with some don left & drawing into another sabo later. Classic "you played like 11 rounds today your brain is fried"
22:05 this swing was such a huge misplay imo. He should have swung 7k with Tashigi and 8k with Smoker. The opponent would most likely have protected Sabo from getting bottomdecked and be two cards short of hand. Even if he didn‘t protect the Sabo, he would have at least used one card as counter. In the end that would have mattered.
why would smoker counter out of the 7k swing b4 his 8 don turn ... to use moria next turn and pull 3 drop tashigi out... coulda just ate the attack wit borso then moria borso ... this game had some really weird moments I felt 😂
Playing in a feature is tense already to missplay is kinda valid in this kind of situation, but yeah even than taking it is crazy for BY Luffy

This smoker gave away the win with that double tashigi
both players misplayed heavily, that smoker doing absolutely nothing 80% of the game is such a misplay , even if you let him go down to 3-2 life while building board is imperative . letting that luffy collect the whole game is why he lost
It’s curious because he beat a couple BYs in the match, so idk if his gameplan was THAT bad, but I think he mentioned on Twitter after how he missplayed a couple steps
@atrocioustcg maybe because he got so far it fried him? However because of the volatile turns Luffy can have you need to be proactive

Tashigi’s effect specifically says TRASH, which in the game is different from KO!
What is the idea of using Kaido cost 9 in By Luffy?
Not only does it trash a 5c Sabo in the mirror, but it also can play around Blackbeard’s leader effect since it’s an Activate Main ability
Blackbeard tech since it’s an activate on main and it makes them trash a card, which BB is already doing a lot of so it hurts them even more
seems weird not to have Jack in the smoker deck, especially with Teach being in the format.
tashigi also works in a similar way without the card pitch so in terms better for the smoker leader.

There’s pros and cons to both for sure, but I think Tashigi just fits better because you’re basically full navy

@squigeyjoe823 the issue with jack is it builds trash which is generally a more cp oriented mechanic. Given only Rebecca and geko use t4ash in his deck this is probably why he opted not to use it
He didn't use the searcher opening game because of smokers ability, you can't let him get free 7k swings so early
But that’s still not a reason not to use the event though, right?

he only found one gecko all game had no other big body can't do much into luffy like that
Smoker had the game if he comitted 4 Don to borsalino for 9k swing instead of developing another borsalinos, the play would not have won him the game but it would leave the BY luffy with a Single turn to try to win with about 2-3 cards in hand and if that play line did go thru a single tashigi 5cost trash Sabo cause BY only had 1 sabo in trash followed up with an 11k that the BY would not be able to get out of… the match up isn’t about big bodies and Moria’s, it’s out resourcing BY with your searchers and being able to interact with their board thru trash removal
@@gandhiperez1027 interesting thought and line. I would assume maybe why he didn't go through this is because he expected more counter than 3-4 dead cards in hand at that point
@@atrocioustcg in hindsight smoker main wouldn’t have known the counter in hand but, it would of been a play line at least imo that would force the BY to go for game the following turn because they would have too little cards in hand to successfully awaken and sit behind sabos, mind you at that point in time there was only 1 sabo in trash too so the math was there to trash the single sabo and swing 11k at 9k lead, based off every draw from BY Luffys end since the second borsalinos was played at most BY would of only had 2 1ks in hand !
Smoker was making wrong decisions in my opinion, turn before he played gecko if that was his line of play he should of let Borsalino die
I think I agree with that play specifically, bringing back borso seems like a little bit more value than 3c tashigi imo

oh it's still a great deck, there's no doubt about that. The meta has just shifted to focus more on countering Blackbeard, which is completely normal. Doesn't make BB bad, same with Rob Lucci
