We used to have a very old woolly pig breed called the 'Lincolnshire Curly Coat' that was similar, unfortunately it became extinct in 1972. It also was very fatty. It used to be sent to Hungary to cross-breed in the 18th C with Mangalitsas. The Lincolnshire Curly Coats were pure white, not coloured.
Pigs are excellent pets.. Better than dogs in numerous ways.. But I do agree they can never replace dogs! I have two pigs n a dalmatian currently.. They hate each other, so did my late alsatian.. But my late great dane was friendly with them..
Yeah, you're so awesome!I'm from Hungary and we call them "mangalica".I think they are cute and they taste really good.Thank you for the video, greetings from Hungary.
purplepurrs well, that's hard to tell but i'll try(even i have terrible english:d) so for me they taste mostly wild boar meat, but not so dry or tough. How i ate,the pork was with paste and sauce. For normal pork it tastes a bit more salty, more dry but definitely not tough as wild boar meat.If you ever tasted wild boar meat you can imagine if you mix with normal pork.I can't explain more, one way or another try it.Trust me you won't be disappointed. :)
I'd forgotten that Coke sponsors Animalist. Definitely don't want to mix saturated fats and refined carbs. The combination of insulin resistance and caloric density from fat will quickly put on the pounds.
Harold Crews It is a double edged sword. If you do not consume saturated fats in some way your cells will not undergo mitosis. If you do, well we all know the result of that. Moderation is key.
I can confirm, it is just as good as boar, totally delicious. Plus, it can be bred, no need to hunt down boars. So technically, it worths saving them as a resource, good news for boars too. Cheers from Hungary. =)
Good point. But althought I'm not a fan of hunting, I'm afraid boars sometimes need to be cobtrolled in some places where wolves have disappeared, or else they breed a lot and get dangerously near towns.
the ecosystem does not give a heck if a domestic breeds disappears. i think celebrates instead. And the disappearing of a breed does not mean the extinction of a species. (by the way that pig is not an "species").
Maybe I may correct a bit here in the breed history, the story that it is a cross between a Wild boar and a pig breed is sadly not the real one..... way back even before there were Hungarian people living there (so that is loooong ago ;-)) was what the scientists call the Lapi pig, this pig breed was partly domestic and wild boar. They think that this breed is way on the base of all the lard breeds / Mangalitsa breeds that developed way later. when someone wants to know more about the tree breed development I would look here: Mangalica - A ingenuous swine breed from Hungary (Review)
OF COURSE WE DEFINETELY SHOULD SAVE ANIMALS FROM EXTINCTION. they are LIVING THING like us. just because we are the most dangerous and smartest it does not mean we should not save. we SHOULD SAVE THE ANIMALS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I think it isn't right. We always wonder "what is the meaning of life?" But to them, it's the inevitable excruciating factory death that they are bred and meant to do. It's stupid.
Says who? If they require large spaces and can not breed quickly no factory is going to take them because all it would do is waste resources, time, and money. They are bred for companionship and food by small slaughterhouses that will waste the resources, time, and money which also means they get a much quicker and painless death.
mangalitsa pig lard is healthy lots of unsaturated fat... its one of the healthier fats better than most modern breeds the fat melts at lower temps.....
So.... The description literally answered the question of the video before the video even loaded..... That's a few minutes of my life I have free..... I think I'll write a novel... Or maybe just a really long comment about how much time I saved by reading the description.... It's kind of interesting actually.... I never realized how long the video was until I had to drag this comment on for so long. Maybe I should stop.... Oh yeah, I can stop, the video's over.
I think that they should be illegal to be eaten as a food, considering there are only 50,000 of them, and millions of pigs to be eaten. And also OH MY FLIPPING GOD THEY ARE ADORABLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
no. we should treat them like family. I love all my dogs even though one them annoy me so much I feel like hitting him but I just nap him on the head he usually stops.
Ofcourse, all animals deserve a comeback, but we should focus more on those that are already endangered. Save the Javan Rhino!! Northern White Rhino!! Etc...
Sorta? I mean, life only has so many uses. You're born, you do things, you breed, you die. And it's not like we're killing them the minute they're born or torturing them (depending on the farm of course). If we raise them (humanely), and then kill them at a reasonable age after they have lived a normal life, bred, etc. that seems fine in my opinion. And we were keeping them as pets, too. We feed them and take care of them, and in return eventually we use their meat, fat, and fur.
It's not right or wrong to raise an animal as a resource. It's a fairly decent trade off for the pig anyway. They get to live a nice life up until their death, which if done properly should be as pleasant as possible. It gets to enjoy every waking moment of life without worries, and then it end, still without worries. What is wrong with this? Personally I wish I end up dying as pleasantly as animals get to die now days, completely unconscious of it, sudden, no thoughts of death in mind.
ok yeah sure its nice to think that humanity would save animals because its morally responsible, but that's highly unlikely at least until we get a program of some sort running, and that only will be likely if we have economic incentive.Maybe thse fuzz pigs will be that incentive, but they seem pretty economically niche at best
Actually the Bakonyi and Szalontai pig breeds which were the main foundation of the breed went extinct after the mangalica became more popular, so you couldn't "remake" this breed as it is now, the curly hair and the red colour comes from the Szalontai for example.
Did you know that you are donating and helping poachers everyday? The steak, ribs, bacon, any meat product is factory farmed (killed) from cows and pigs. There heads are chopped off but before that they give them the worst experience of their life, sitting and standing in a 5ft x 5ft cage in their own feces until dragged out, sometimes skinned alive, and then the factory slices up their body.
mmmm I would eat them all if I could >:) jk but srsly pork is my #1 favorite food so if this is the best pork ever made then mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm. I would raise it from a babysheer the wool every so often until it is dead and eat it it.
In my opinion humanity should save only useful animals... For exaple pandas are cute but they are useless in any aspect. Is that enough to speand so much money on saving them?
Vjorp well.. its money geting put back in circulations..?...i think its worse to let an entire speices die off and only keep the ones we need around... i mean.. u let one speices die.. then another will.. then another.. and another and another.. then entire enviroments will die... then there wont be anything....animal speices wont be the onlything to die.. insects plants. stuff liek that.. and that could leave the earth uninhabitable.. ...not a good idea...
Vjorp im just saying... its an exsample.. ..say.. ants..died out... speices that depend on ants would die out.. they have a enviormental job.. then speices that ate that speices die out.. and they had a job.. and so on..and when the dodo died. its estimated 14 plant speices died with it becouse it was a form of placeing seeds.. without it they died so one and so forth.. we dont know what would happen if some speices died out.. things depend on eatch other... we depend on those things.. they go.. we go.. ya...
Who would want to have a pig as a pet? Or, even worse, a hairy pig? They're disgusting and deserve nothing more than to be in our food. I don't like pork at all though.
Jacobs Little Friends Teacup pigs? I just wanna take a shovel and beat them into the ground. Teacup Pomeranians on the other hand. They just melt hearts :)
He said they are as loyal as dogs, if you're allergic to dogs but not pigs it would be a great alternative! And if you think they are disgusting that is your opinion. But I think they're adorable, especially the fluffy ones, if I was rich I would so get one as a pet! Also if you're talking about cleanliness, obviously if it was your pet you would bathe it often like you do for your dog so I really don't see much difference.
Jeez, I can understand that you do not like them, and you're entitled to your own opinion obviously, but talking about killing them and abusing them is absolutely disgraceful, please keep you violent and malicious ways to yourself
great to see you more relaxed Alex, good vid:)

I'm really curious, how does the taste differ from normal pork?
purplepurrs well,that's hard to tell but i'll try(even i have terrible english:d)

Saturated fat is not unhealthful. Poly-unsaturated fats and trans-fats are unhealthful. Also refined carbohydrates are unhealthful.
Moderate efforts produce at best mediocre results.
Harold Crews You have to agree that it is better than death.
Mangalica! Cutest and tastiest of them all :3
Fuck you
mooofin9898 Love you too hun
i thought alex left Animalist'' anyhow'' hope your doing good''waves''

Cool pig.
No
You don't think it's a cool pig? If you don't you mean
lol

SHEEPPIIGGGSSS MY DREAMS HAVE BEEN FULFILLED
OF COURSE WE DEFINETELY SHOULD SAVE ANIMALS FROM EXTINCTION. they are LIVING THING like us. just because we are the most dangerous and smartest it does not mean we should not save. we SHOULD SAVE THE ANIMALS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Saturated fat isn't unhealthy. Vegetable oil is unhealthy because the types of omega fats aren't balanced and it contains trans fats.

I LOVE IT
Happy Birthday number 156 to Teddy Roosevelt .

first is the worst, second is the best!
I dont see why not. We both benefit. The pig gets to eat and reproduce and we get its resources. Besides many other species do this aswell
I'm torn between keeping one as a pet or eating it... My struggle uhhhg
No, it's because in the end those will be the animals that will survive. People are raising ostriges and peacocks as an alternative to the chicken.
Looks like my male dog, Bandit.
Are you sure your 'dog' is a dog and not a rare species of pig??? ;)
Farren Downing we also call him a bear dog since he is looks like a brown bear as well lol.
Farren Downing no actually, he is Chow Chow, German Shepherd, Rottweiler, and Saint Bernard.
Wow, that's quite a mix, out of that list my fave are the chow chow and saint bernard :)
yes
I think that they should be illegal to be eaten as a food, considering there are only 50,000 of them, and millions of pigs to be eaten. And also OH MY FLIPPING GOD THEY ARE ADORABLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
They would be a difficult meat to produce too since they take long to grow and take a long time to breed.
no. we should treat them like family. I love all my dogs even though one them annoy me so much I feel like hitting him but I just nap him on the head he usually stops.
cute!
Yes it is
Yea
I though a sheep bred with a pig.
0:19 MangalitsGa? where did you get that G?
Fact: We should keep this species from extinction due to wild pigs being hunted for food.
I'm here for Boxxy wtf is this?
she's here....sometimes.
gorgious
Ofcourse, all animals deserve a comeback, but we should focus more on those that are already endangered. Save the Javan Rhino!! Northern White Rhino!! Etc...
We want Boxxy!!
I WANT ONE!!!!!!!!!!

Poor pigs... :(
It's okay, because pets.
It's not right or wrong to raise an animal as a resource.

Thumbs up if this is your favorite animal
Oh cool, i'm the sixth commentor, also what about their wool?,is that commonly used?
Hmmm Zsa Zsa Gabor would like that hungarian pork..For me I will not eat something that cute;)
I don't eat meat... why did I end up here?
ok yeah sure its nice to think that humanity would save animals because its morally responsible, but that's highly unlikely at least until we get a program of some sort running, and that only will be likely if we have economic incentive.Maybe thse fuzz pigs will be that incentive, but they seem pretty economically niche at best
I want to eat one or two or three...
Fuck you
mooofin9898 Go away kid. Tell you mother I'll be late for dinner tonight.
Holyshitman, you fuck off, would you like it if something ate you, your mom, and your dad?
Pig is delicous. I would totally eat four.
KingCross Cry me a river you vegan fuck. How else am I going to get my bacon.
Would we be at fault if they went extinct? Since we made it, and it's breed from non extinct animals.
Actually the Bakonyi and Szalontai pig breeds which were the main foundation of the breed went extinct after the mangalica became more popular, so you couldn't "remake" this breed as it is now, the curly hair and the red colour comes from the Szalontai for example.
Great video and I want one as a pet! Also 1 comment omg, 🐬😜🍟
Me too, animals are the best thing ever
Bad thing is poachers are trying to hunt it *tears*
😩😩😩😭😭😭😭😪😪😪😭😭 NO!POACHERS R DIRTY RASCALS
Did you know that you are donating and helping poachers everyday? The steak, ribs, bacon, any meat product is factory farmed (killed) from cows and pigs. You are wrong, these type of poachers smuggle pigs out of farms and sell them for meat and fur
So fluffeh!
No
Meat!
NO IT IS NOT RIGHT TO SAVE ANIMALS THEN USE THEM FOR PLEASURE /FOOD .....I want wooly pig for a pet:-)
um but you just said it was wrong to use them.
Thats using for pleasure and you said that was wrong
He said pleasure/food, hes not using it for food if its his pet
KingCross
but he is still using it for his pleasure.
wow alt cllick space copy paste
There just animals so we eat them
Kinda
mmmm I would eat them all if I could >:) jk but srsly pork is my #1 favorite food so if this is the best pork ever made then mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm. I would raise it from a babysheer the wool every so often until it is dead and eat it it.
I'll eat one
Hey guys pls donate and share go to : igg.me/at/helpthiscatt
Uh
it is definitely wrong ! no kind deserves to live like this !
This pig was never cross bread to exist it's a regular animal that has hair because it comes from a colder climate
I looked it up and they were cross bread.
looks like ex
Boom hungarians !!! :D jk
An animal channel talking about killing and eating the animal that it's talking about. Really?
They were bred to be resources. I don't see why it's bad to mention that.
I just turn a vegan and get me a pig Io:_p";"q_:oL
In my opinion humanity should save only useful animals...
For exaple pandas are cute but they are useless in any aspect. Is that enough to speand so much money on saving them?
they are usefull.. they make everyone go " AGGHDPP JDF SO CUTEE!!" then their easyer to hit in the back of the head with a shovel :3
I agree but do you know how much money is speant on trying tyo sustain pandas. Damn they are making panda porn...
You know dodos died alredy out and nothing happend...
Anyways pandas are useless to the ecosistem because nothing eats them and they are rare.
Vjorp im just saying... its an exsample.. ..say.. ants..died out... speices that depend on ants would die out.. they have a enviormental job.. then speices that ate that speices die out.. and they had a job.. and so on..and when the dodo died. its estimated 14 plant speices died with it becouse it was a form of placeing seeds.. without it they died so one and so forth.. we dont know what would happen if some speices died out.. things depend on eatch other... we depend on those things.. they go.. we go.. ya...
I can't stand the BS attitude!
Who would want to have a pig as a pet? Or, even worse, a hairy pig?
They're disgusting and deserve nothing more than to be in our food. I don't like pork at all though.
Two words: Teacup pig
But mini pigs are bitchin!
Jacobs Little Friends Teacup pigs?
I just wanna take a shovel and beat them into the ground.
