Redefining Energy: The IEA's Journey Towards a Sustainable Future with Fatih Birol

In this podcast, the Al-Attiyah Foundation is joined by Dr Fatih Birol. Dr Birol has served as Executive Director of the International Energy Agency since September 2015. Under his leadership, the Agency has moved to the forefront of global efforts to reach international climate goals while ensuring that the social and economic impacts of clean energy transitions are at the heart of policymaking and energy security is safeguarded.
Prior to his nomination as Executive Director, Dr Birol spent over 20 years at the IEA, rising through the ranks to the position of Chief Economist responsible for the flagship World Energy Outlook publication.
