In regard to the feed setting, this machine works this way to make it faster to adjust for different jobs. The wire feed and amps are matched for the job, and the machine also take in consideration the other welding parameters, like wire gauge, material, gas etc. If you want your weld a little hotter than what the machine suggests, you can use the “trimming function” it is the button just right of the display. So if you fx want a little more wire speed, you adjust the wire speed to your liking, and afterwards you trim down the amps with the trim function. This welder is really meant to be very easily adaptable to different jobs, it isn’t meant for beginners, but is easy to use for a beginner, since the machine is intelligent. I would suggest a more conventional welder for a beginner since it will make them think more about their settings and help with their understanding of how the welder works.
@@YeibonYe you can choose the amp setting on the welder. When you choose the amp, the wire speed is determined by the welder. If you want your weld a little hotter, while maintaining the same wire speed, you just press the “trim” button and turn it up until your weld turns out as you want it.
@@AndreasBrOlesen thanks a lots. this really helps a lots. now i understood how this machine works. i can say that, the official manual from migatronic is really not clear and details.
@andreasbrolesen hejsa. Hvordan får du den til at vælge enten amp, eller trådhastighed så de kan indstilles manuelt? Jeg syntes min maskine ændre det hele hvis jeg indstiller feks. Amp højere, så stiger trådhastigheden og materialetykkelsen bare?
Hi Fred, thanks for your honest review. I and my son is just starting out with welding, and I think what we should upgrade since our very old (and trusty?) transformer machine broke down. This review was helpful. It's good with helpful machine functions for novices, but having the option to do manual tweaks is very useful for the future. Thanks for sharing, subscribed. Cheers.
I have this machine and its perfect for me. Because im a novice welder and have no memory for weld settings. I weld maybe 5 times a year. Had this machine for some years and never even tried the amp and wirefeed mode. I just use the material thicknes mode and it welds perfect every time 🙂
Bra rescension!
How does it handle TIG welding? Looking for AC/DC TIG, but a combination DC MIG/TIG could also be good enough even tho aludiddlium only could be done with the MIG portion.
how did you switch the grip? Could you explain the process or maybe make a video about it? Which other grips beside the stock grip will fit the machine? I am also interested in buying the machine, but the thumb finger trigger is what's really bothering me aswell. However, I would go for it if there is a safe way to exchange it as you mentioned in the video. Greetings from Germany!
Hi Bastian! I think most grips would be possible to fit on there. What i did was simply to remove the stock plastic and just cut some material on the inside of the old grip i had to match it to the machine. Hard to explain in text but i’ll do a video on it soon.
you can set only one of the parameters of the wire speed amps thickness at any one time. so just chose example wire speed then you can adjust. but only one. hope this helps. so if your happy with amps the thickness will not change soyou can slow wire speed or speed up if you like. hope this.
Hello, I have this welder. I dont understand what you are describing. All three parameters are interconnected. You basically choose one and the machine would "fill in" the rest. For example if you set the amperage, then go to thickness and increase it. Then if you flick back to amperage it will be higher than you set it before. I like to use often very flat "spots". On old machine I set amperage right and lowered feed to the least amount possible with the correct "bacon" sound during welding. With rally I sometimes struggle achieving this. I thing the manufacturer put there for this purpose the trim function, where you can fine tune a bit (not dramatic changes thou) the synergic programe = the way he setts the parameters. Changing wire diameter should work too, good idea. I will try it, but it is not very effective way - basicaly one setting down and one up, if you use 0.8wire.
Hi I got question. I’m living in uk and we got household fuse 13amp as a standard. This machine got input current 16a , do you thing I can use safely this machine in my house? Thanks
hi just bought this machine myself. completely agree with the instructions for the machine are absolutely useless not enough detail very poor instructions.
also, say you want more amps than that particular parameter is giving for that wire example 0.8 you can set it to the next wire size up and change wire speed if you wanted a more personal touch. but like you say if your not getting bad welds then love it.

I would love to see how you tig weld with this machine. Step by step setting up etc.
Not much to set up as its fully synergic welding unit, just choose gas you are using and filler and you are ready to go.

With such a tiny grip actually a trigger at the top is a good thing to have.
