      I agree! It makes it so hard as parents to know what to buy our little ones, when products are often marketed as beneficial when that might not be the case.

    Is a water soaked knotted washcloth safe for babies under 6 months of age? Not breastfeeding so I can't do breastmilk. My pediatrician recommended camomile tea soaked washcloth because the herb is naturally anti-inflammatory apparently and apparently safe. 🤷🏼‍♀️

    This video couldn’t come at a better time! My baby is 5months and started teething. His canines are coming out and has been a rough week so far. A co worker of mine recommended the amber beads and told them there’s no science saying it even works and causes strangulation. They got so mad at me! I’m not going to put my baby in danger like that and I don’t care if it worked wonders for them. Honestly anything babies can chew on provides them relief 😐 I even have family members recommending i rub my baby’s gums with numbing gel OR whiskey. This blows my mind how both those methods can be dangerous.

    Hi Emma, I love your content. My sister’s baby is teething. She is crying at night and the only way to put her back to sleep is to give her breast. But she wakes up every 40min -1 hour. During the day she has 3 30-40min naps and one 2-2,5 long nap. It’s very exhausting, and my sister has no sleep. Baby is also suffering. What can be done to improve the night sleep of both?

    One caution I recently learned about baby using pacifier during teething is to be careful to not let them actually "teeth" on the pacifier. It poses a chocking risk if the pacifier comes a part from baby chewing on it rather sucking. Disclaimer: I am referring to a regular pacifier, not one actually meant for teething.

    • @ahhwe-any7434

      My baby's never even liked them. But I found a teething thing w/ the backing of a pasci, or just a handle, that's gelly, w/ just a crowning shape for her teeth. That's the term, right:/? It's just shaped for her mouth/ teeth to bite down on & it came w) the soothing gels. She actually likes that thing. It annoys me when ppl say my baby this that baby sleeps throughout the night. He/she is such a good baby. Like is that baby not human? Bc my baby is almost a yr & she still def does Not always sleep throughout the night. Also, I kind of just don't want her to start getting all that mobile. She gets into everything. So much, I'm pretty sure she knows what ohhhhh means by now. Little munchkin thinks she's sneaky till I startle her w/ my ohhhhh's. Also also I still don't know y I had a 2nd kid this late. 41 w/ a teen, & an infant is like good gah. I stare at my youngest thinking about my oldest somexs like my half way special self should've found more ugly bad boys 🤦🏻‍♀️ bc I'm gonna hafta go through a billion life times to deal w/ these little females of mine. I think I'm gonna start making fruit popsicles

      Yes, once they have teeth, it's important to stop pacifying or look for one that is meant for teething babies.

    In a tool from 2:15, I place frozen mixed cucumber (I blended cucumber, received juice out of in and freeze it in ice cube form). It slowly melt as he eats it, as well it's in rubber so ice does not touch the skin itself.
    Is it ok for 8-9 months baby to eat such an ice cream?
    Ask to be sure, I give best for my baby ;)

    • @LifewithBreanna_
      @LifewithBreanna_ Год назад +1

      Cucumbers sounds like a great remedy! If baby is not allergic and your pediatrician approves that baby can eat solids. For the rubber, id use something more durable like a towel. Also, make sure baby is not allergic to rubber and it's of course sanitized. Be aware that baby may be able to penetrate rubber with his or her bite force so there is still a risk of choking! (Again, I'd use something more durable, solid, soft, and flexible).
      If you want to have baby chew on it and snack at the same time, maybe place it in a self-feeder for good measure! 👍🏻

    • @EmmaHubbard
      @EmmaHubbard  Год назад +2

      The cucumber cube sounds perfect. At 8 - 9 months of age your little one would be eating solids so this is a great way to expose your baby to the taste of cucumber and also help to alleviate the teething pain.

    Hi u mentioned pacifier used up to 6mos, any suggestions to how to quit pacifier? My little one is 10now, using pacifier when he needs sleep

    • @EmmaHubbard
      @EmmaHubbard  Год назад

      It really depends on you and your little one. You could remove the pacifier and go cold turkey knowing that sleep will be a little disrupted as your little one learns to fall asleep without the pacifier. Or there are pacifiers now that gradually reduce the size of the pacifier, as a slow wean. Or you could try removing the pacifier for night time sleep at first as their circadian rhythm and sleep pressure is high and will help them fall asleep initially and then once they become familiar with falling asleep without the pacifier for night you can remove it during nap time (which is predominately guided by sleep pressure). Hope that helps!

    My MIL has run her own in-house daycare for over 30 years and swears by those amber bead necklaces. Despite the zeitgeist that you don’t give children under 3 years old toys with small plastic objects that can choke them, it’s strange that these necklaces are so widely regarded. I had to stealth-remove the necklace from my registry after she insisted on putting it on there, but I think she’s planning to get it for bubs anyway.

    Hi Emma, when do one stop giving the pacifier?

    • @EmmaHubbard
      @EmmaHubbard  Год назад +1

      It really depends on the parent and the child. If it is starting to impact sleep (so the bub is starting to wake and call out during the night for you to put the pacifier back in) and this is starting to become a problem then I would remove the pacifier at that point. But if you are happy to get up and put it back in your little one's mouth until they learn the skill to do this themselves (which they do at around 7/8 months) then you can keep using it. It honestly depends with what you are happy with.

      @@EmmaHubbard true, a big hunk of amber would be safer, maybe it’s because I grew up with a lot if babies and had my mum drilling into me no little things they choke on around.
