Rosa Parks Arrested for Violating Segregation Laws

- On December 1, 1955, Rosa Parks was arrested in Montgomery, Alabama, for violating laws mandating racial segregation on buses. Parks and three other African-American women were asked by the bus driver to give up their seats for white passengers. Parks refused and was arrested. This was the catalyst for the Montgomery Bus Boycott.
