I listened again! Yeah it's an Am7 quickly changing to a d7, a ii v in G!. Who cares though once the music starts being played, the theory goes out of the window!
I don't have the same natural talent as someone so gifted like you. I need to learn where to put my fingers first before I can channel the music from my heart and soul
Yeah, I was playing around adding the "C" note here and there and it really spiced up the jam. "C" would be the dominate 7th note so I guess that would make sense in a D7th backing track! I will have to try the "C" pentatonic like you did to see how that goes!
Thanks! If you listen to the bass you'll see that the root is a D, not a A. The most obvious scale to play is D mixolydian (same as A dorian, but with D as the root).
+jerry levy its kind of both the bass note is a d so its like a dorian/d which is d7. there is a little melody with a g going down to an f sharp which can give it the a minor to d7 sound or also a dsus to d7 since the bass note is always d. You're right tough, in terms of scales its a dorian or d mixolydian
@@guitarman6742 even bb King would have worked out what notes sounded good against different chords, that doesn't stop someone from bring soulful,.. It does prevent playing bum notices, though, and you'll hear bb doesn't ever hit any
Been picking up Alto Sax again, this really helped me to get back in the soloing game!

Hey I dug this track, are the chords correct
🤣
A C mix or blues scale seems yo work on this d riff for some reason

D7
Really?
Yes it's d
Great backing track but it's A minor dorian, not d7. Very enjoyable track, though, thanks

You scale people are soulless.
Yeah but they're kind of important to know if you want to improvise with any soul.

stop being so tech conscience and play it with feel from the heart
Constantly playing and underlying G to Gb and you call this D7? With the bass derping around this is not for practice its just poor music
F# is the 3 of D. F# and Gb are enharmonic. I don't see a problem with the track. Works great for G Lydian Dominant too.
@@GrantSchinto Man I think f# and GB are the same ?
D7sus4 to D7 champ. It's D7 all the way.
idiot
