guys imagine, Chris, uploading two videos, weekly and Benji as well then we gonna get 4videos every week, we will live happily without any stress in our lives😱!!!! I said (imagine)😔
Chris about fell out when you bent that book. The look in his eyes. As someone who grew up and worked in libraries most of my life, I felt that glare in my soul.
I don't know why I can't resist smiling. I love it sooo much! You guys are so cute!! I shared the embarrassment and speechlessness of Chris in front of a camera and nice guidance of Benji. Just so SWEET😍
i clicked on this thinking, "benji? like plant benji?" and it WAS plant benji! You have impeccable interior design and I am so jealous of your bookshelves!!!!!
This was one of my favorite videos of ALL TIME! You had me at "bookstore," but coffee? And BENJI?! I am in! I will have to watch it again when I am home with a nice cuppa. Thanks so much for this.
You guys just got recommended to me by RUclips and I LOVE your vlog. This was so chill! I loved it so much! Most of the other bookstore vlogs are kinda annoying with their energy and fast camera and pulling out books just for aesthetic shots with annoying music. This was so refreshing *subscribes*
This vlog was very sweet and warm (not war). I'm so happy you're going to Ireland and for your birthday!! You both will love it here. Make sure you visit Hodges Figgis bookshop in Dublin. ❤
I just got back from Ireland and there are some GREAT bookstores. I love checking out small local bookstores when I travel. (I can recommend a few I enjoyed if you’d like) One of my favorite parts was seeing all of the UK cover arts and how they differed from US ones. Anyways, great job on your first vlog! Y’all are so wholesome ❤️
Gideon the Ninth is a must read. Also, it's hilarious. One of the best written fantasy books. The audiobook is fantastic too. Needless to say, I'm obsessed with the series.
I love Gideon The Ninth soo much! the whole series is an all time favorite. not as much space content in the first book as you might think, but super fun nonetheless. the series is a genre-bending masterpiece and the characters and their dynamics are the best part
Hi Benji and Chris, I stumbled upon Benji's Vietnam vlogs yesterday and then I discovered Chris's channel today. I was excited to watch a bookstore vlog with the two of you. I love your vibe.💙 Benji, here are some warm Japanese novels I've read and love: 1. The Restaurant of Love Regained - Ito Ogawa 2. Before the Coffee Gets Cold - Toshikazu Kawaguchi (It's a 5-part series but the stories aren't interconnected. The main characters continue in every book. I've read 2 out of the 5 books and I think this is one of those series that gets better with every book) 3. The Kamogawa Food Detectives - Hisashi Kashiwai (another ongoing series but every book is a standalone in terms of closing loose ends.)
For Benji, I’d recommend The Housekeeper and The Professor by Yoko Ogawa. Don’t be misled by the title, it’s not a romance novel. It’s more a cozy story about an old retired math professor with memory loss and his friendship with his housekeeper and her young son.
Been really enjoying your videos Chris! Keep up the amazing work. Also currently reading Bookshops & Bonedust after Legends & Lattes. As for a recommendation for Benji, I really loved the Kamagowa Food Detectives. Good if you’re looking for something kind of cozy and all about Japanese food. 😊🍜
Oooh as Benji loved Winter in Sokcho, definitely read the other books by Elisa Shua Dusapin, they’re all great. Also pretty much anything translated by Anton Hur is fab. Love in the Big City could be a corker. Ooh and if you go to Dublin on your Ireland trip you’ll be spoilt for bookshops.
Just wanted to say, that i love your calm vibe and that These videos really help me to relax after a stressful day. Thanks for providing us with this Great content and keep going :)
It's so funny, because I was thinking of recommending the "Earthsea" books and seconds later, Benji grabs the copy off the shelf. Great series, especially if you enjoyed Harry Potter (Ursula K. Le Guin originated the idea of a school for wizards and she did some pretty radical things with her books at the time.)
I am excited to hear your reviews on your book haul! I appreciate the way you explain the titles you read and the reason why you enjoyed them. I am considering buying L&L soon! Have an amazing weekend 📚✨
I love Vroman’s and am so glad it’s still in business. Moved away from the SGV and this is an establishment I truly miss. This vlog was so nice to watch.
such a cute video ! and also for benji, i also read days at the morasaki bookshop and the book im currently reading now is called welcome to the hyunam-dong bookshop and its by a korean author and has similar vibes !
Love Benji and Chris! For Benji I recommend anything by Haruki Murakami especially Kafka on the Shore (but it is long) and Shopgirl by Steve Martin. And for Chris you might like 84 Charing Cross Road (which is also a sweet movie from the 80's) about a bookseller.
help chappel roan is so real! standalone fantasy book recs: - spinning silver or uprooted by naomi novik - circe/song of achilles (you've prob read them alr though) - anything by tj klune is cozy gay fantasy - sword of kaigen - never let me go (reminds me of a cozy nightmare) - left hand of darkness (more philosophical but super unique fantasy style)
I have been seeing Vroman's from other vlogs from Roomies' Digest. Cute dog! Thanks for filming this bookstore vlog! I enjoy watching bookstore vlogs! 💟
Lie With Me was translated from the French by Molly Ringwald. Yes... THAT Molly Ringwald. The recent movie from the book came out late last year. It's very good (and French). It's available for rent/purchase on all the various online movie stores.
Classic fantasy book I love is the last unicorn by Peter S. Beagle not sure if it’s similar to the classic fantasy books Benji mentioned though. Chris you inspire me to read more thanks!
Omg this was so cute, looking forward to more bookish vlogs from you Chris!! Also when you guys mentioned Leigh Bardugo i was wondering whether you guys have read the Six of Crows duology? It seems like something Benji would like :DD
im currently reading throne of glass series and its so good! though its an 8 book series.. a bit on the longer side but super good! sarah knows how to write books (my fave bookseries so far is a court of throrns and roses! from her aswell hehe) 🌱💕 im really loving all your videos chris! well done
if benji wants more queer books that have similar vibes to Call Me By Your Name, a book i really recommend is called Swimming in the Dark by Tomasz Jedrowski !! it’s set in 80s Poland and is super good!
To Benji, In terms of fantasy, I really really loved A Magic Steeped in Poison! It’s not necessarily classic but it’s a chinese-based fantasy and I absolutely loved it! It has a whole magic system based on Tea. I think you’d really like it.
Since Benji was looking for a fiction book by a Japanese author, I highly recommend " The Place Promised in our Early Days" by Arata Kanoh, original story by Makoto Shinkai. This book is so lovely and I love re-reading it so much
guys imagine, Chris, uploading two videos, weekly and Benji as well then we gonna get 4videos every week, we will live happily without any stress in our lives😱!!!! I said (imagine)😔

“Lie With Me” WRECKED ME OMG- one of the most tragic books I’ve read
Do you know more books like this one?
@@breatheinmyworld8230 “Swimming in the Dark” by Tomasz Jedrowski and “Giovanni’s Room” by James Baldwin - if you haven’t read those yet of course
@@breatheinmyworld8230 swimming in the dark by Tomasz Jedrowski is very similar!
Both of you radiate the color yellow. Like sunshine and honey. So sweet.

Y’all’s chemistry just feeds me. I wish you guys love peace happiness and growth on your journeys
why are both your voices so modulated and perfectttt it is so relaxing to hear
A good fantasy standalone book is sorcery of thorns!!! It’s about a girl that lives in a library and it has some incredible characters :)

you both are a huge inspiration and are so cute! love these vlogs
The biggest challenge about watching these videos is not being able to focus on both of their adorable faces at the same time.
