Enoshima looks like a lovely place to visit. I'm afraid my bad knees won't be able to take the hilly terrain and steps. Your okaasama did a fabulous job though. What is the difference between shirasu and chirimen?
Vanessa Giedosh Glad you enjoyed this trip. We really weren't sure about this video as we didn't think we got enough footage. We love going to places like this so if you like these kinds of videos, we will definitely do more!
I just want you both to know how much I'm enjoying your channel. And I was struck by how similar the landscape is between where you shot this and where I live. I am on Vancouver Island in Canada and so much of the scenery in this reminds me of the west coast of our island! Our big world really is small in some ways isn't it? Much love.
Hi Alex, I have been to Naples and must agree with you - it is a BEAUTIFUL place. It's not bad on Vancouver Island weather wise - getting warm for spring. We have a rain forest climate here unlike other places in Canada where it's COLD!!!
Lyndsay Wells, The Kitchen Witch aww thank you so much. It really makes us so happy to hear words like that. Makes everything we do worthwhile. Canada is a place that's definitely on our bucket list. I see photos and shows on Canada and find the country absolutely beautiful. HUGE HUGS from Tokyo my friend.
Hello there, nice to be able to see your lovely video about Enoshima. I am planning to go there next year, would you be able to share the address and the name of the all you can eat restaurant that you went to, it looks so good. I can't wait to be able to try it. Thanks in advance.
Hello, I'm finally catching up on your videos. ^-^ Enoshima looks very pretty. Thank you for filming this trip. Additional thanks to Shinichi-sans Okaasan for being so cool about getting filmed. :D When I was at Hieizan (the sacred mountain at Lake Biwa) I was told by a Monk, that to get a bad luck slip at omikuji shows that in fact you are quite lucky. For there are a lot more slips that read good fortune than bad luck. So Satoshi-san is really lucky in his own way. ;-) Additionally I learned that omikuji should be used to determine only the nearest future as well as a task or whish you are thinking about while drawing. ^^ I have not seen all of your videos jet, so I may ask a silly question: Do you guys also buy omamori? I bought my favorite Omamori at a small shrine at the foot of Hieizan, but it is more than 3 years old now, and I figured, that I have no idea what to do with them after the protection period of 1 year expires. Do you know what to do with old Omamori? (I asked my Japanese teacher and she was not so sure either. She only told me, that it might be bad luck to keep them especially if the Omamori was supposed to protect you from bad luck or illness.)
+NivionScribble HI there. thanks so much for watching our videos! Enoshima is a great place to visit and is one of my favorite places near Tokyo especially when I want to get away from it all. For expired omamoris, we usually take it to a temple or shrine and have it burned. We usually do it during New Years holidays when they have open fires where we can just throw them in.
+TabiEats Thank you very much for taking the time to answer my question! Ah, so I will try to find someone to take my Omamoris to a shrine during new years. ^.^ (or I will have to seal them in and travel to Japan myself for the change of 2016-2017, as I am afraid, that I will not be able to make it next month ;-()
Enoshima looks very lovely indeed! My goodness, I will have to stay in Japan for a year, to be able and visit all the wonderful places you've showed me Shinichi and Satoshi lol! I pass on the jellyfish ice cream though, ewww 🐙
TabiEats that was a lot of fun beutiful please you could feel and see that it's rich introduction yes please show more world allso like it if you could show more of the different type of cuisine they have one last thing a big shout out to your mom
What a wonderful places, guys! I wish I were there! Maybe it's good that I am not there. I would make a pig of myself. I love seeing all the spiritual rituals! Fascinating! I'm addicted to wasabi! I would have that first, then I would try the jellyfish ice cream! Such exotic flavors! Thanks for sharing the great excursion!
This video was great guys! I really want to visit Enoshima when I come to Tokyo in November now. I loved the look of your lunches, especially all that tasty Shirasu! Poor Satoshi, I hope your fortune isn't too bad :"( I'd love to see a follow-up video of Kamakura, espeically the cherry sweets that you showed for about 3 seconds - the ones that look like they're preserved in hard-candy. SUGOI!
Grant Heino Ohhh do you like Shirasu? We love it so much. The cherry sweet was UME I think. It's preserved plum and very sour. hehe. But really good for you and helps give you energy.
like this place very much
Wait... you was wearing a T-shirt "PHỞ" wasn'n you ??? Hello from Vietnam
I'm actually going to visit there next month so this helped me get an idea of what to expect.
+ghoshida that's great! Hope you have a great stay!

Chirimen is the same fish that’s been dried so it’s drier and lasts longer. Shiatsu is just boiled so you have to eat it quickly before it spoils
Thank you for your reply. I never knew the difference!
Japan is so pretty! I hope to visit there one day!
***** Thank you so much. Yes I hope you can visit us one day too! It's always so nice to see you here.
Wow! Looks like you all had a lot of fun! ^^ I would absolutely love to see more trips like this! :D

Bobby Olmsted it's actually not as bad as it sounds. Jelly fish Crackers were amazing!

Juanelo1946 I think you'd love the jellyfish ice cream! And since you're a fisherman, there's lot of good fish to be had.
