Exactly and draft a QB to develop so if you have to move on because he can’t stay healthy or whatever the reason - you got a line built for the next guy to step in.
The question of who could run this McDaniel offense isn't the only question.. Is this System a sustainable fit for the NFL is my question. The 49ers and Miami have both shown once the QB is out or a certain number of injuries build up to cross a very shallow threshold then this Offense will not do much at all and you see the seasons both teams have had. This also answers the question as to why 'All the other teams' can still have success with backup QB and Miami can not. Is this sustainable in today's 17 Game Season? I think not based off of what we've seen so far.
it is so simple my friend, go and look at all the teams in the playoffs and where their offensive lines rank compared to MIAs. Mahomes hasn't ever had an offensive line ranked outside the top 10, and the one time his entire line was decimated, he couldn't even score a TD in the Superbowl. MIA failed to run the ball effectively against a 2 high shell and so defenses were never forced out of it to open up the passing game. If the offensive line were at least average, replacement level QBs would look so much better. We knew the fact that they didn't improve the offensive line was going to bite them and thats exactly what happened.

I think it’s funny when people say other QBs can’t run the system. Other QBs can certainly run the system. The problem is that you’re going to have an incredibly hard time finding guys who can run the offense well enough, because there just aren’t many QBs on the planet who can do it. Finding somebody who can run it well enough and then convincing them to be your backup is going to be harder than finding a starter was in the first place. 🤷🏽♂️. For example, Jimmy G can “run” the offense, as long as you have zero intention of trying to push the ball more than 5 yards beyond the line of scrimmage. Because Jimmy G cannot do that. He’s shown that every single time he has been asked to push the ball, by throwing to the wrong team like 95% of those times. You can survive with Jimmy G, as long as you can avoid 3rd & longer than about 4 to gain. If you can do that, you’ll be mostly okay. The problem will show itself when you gatta have it against good teams tho. We need a veteran QB for the backup position, not another developmental prospect. Because we need the roster spot for depth at other positions. We need a backup QB who doesn’t need a ton of reps and still be able to step in and execute the system and be comfortable.
Even 17 years with one of the best QB's in history (Dan M), the Dolphins weren't able to truly succeed at HardRock Stadium! So is it a personnel problem? Or could it have something to do with building their stadium on an ancient Indian burial ground?! (no cap)
