Anybody else yell COUNTY COUNTY every time he said country?
YES!!!
Me i did yelling at my phone lol
Yes and lol'd! 😅
Definitely
SickGirlRocks yes!!!! 😫😂
His dad told him to walk away from trouble WHEN HE CAN. He couldn't walk away this time.
Kathleen Tate No one ever catches that in this song. The first time I heard it when it first came out I got it and I was a kid lol
@@ctbadcop15 I have to disagree with your comment, I did catch it.
That is what the line "and papa I sure hope you understand, sometimes YOU HAVE TO fight when you're A MAN" is about.
King of Nothing we’re saying the same thing
@@ctbadcop15 I'm talking about the part of your comment where you wrote to Kathleen Tate that "no one ever catches it." When you wrote that, two people had caught it. Kathleen had, and she's not a no one. And you had, and you're not a no one too.
That's two people who caught it, but you wrote no one did. That's the part of your statement that I disagreed with. You saying no one had and I saying that someone had, (Kathleen and you) is not saying the same thing.
King of Nothing Grow up you F’ing troll!
A quiet man, pushed past a certain point, is the deadliest opponent a person can face. You aren’t just fighting a person, you are fighting all of the rage, hurt and emotion they have kept inside for so long.
My Uncle was my best friend. He was easy going, didnt have a badword to say about anyone. It took alot 2 make him mad but if you did u had better on the otherside of that door when he was mad. He passed in 2013. Still miss him everyday!! Love u Uncle Randy!!!!!
When the quiet, gentle fellow locks that door, watch out.
Still waters run deep. Eisenhower was a "gentle" man but they said he was a quiet man who carried a big stick or something like that. I'm sorry I'm not American but it seemed to pop into my head listening to this song.
@@suzannetodaro5494 "Speak softly and carry a big stick; you will go far." -- Teddy Roosevelt
@@suzannetodaro5494 "Speak softly and carry a big stick; you will go far." -- Teddy Roosevelt
It's always been said to watch out for the "quiet ones".
I remember a girl from school who was one of those "quiet girls". Then one day some "agitators" in class started a fight with her. Well she tore their butts up. Surprised all of us who had known her for years. And we all cheered her on. Those girls deserved what they got from her...
Thomas Piroli Neville Longbottom!
Based on a true story from Georgia, the real guy actually killed the first guy he hit, he was found not guilty later.
I don't blame him at all, personally I believe not a single one of them would have been left alive if it had been me in that room
Link please? I'd love to read about that...
My family heritage is old school European. I remember when I watched the movie of this with my older relatives who came over on the boat. They said that where they lived, all the guys in the village would take the guilty ones who attacked a girl or child and castrated them then banished them from the village. They missed those days as very few dared to commit crimes due to the punishment being one and done.
@@makavili4429 It's deliberately ambiguous. The way it's phrased makes it unclear whether he killed them or just beat them unconscious. In the movie it's fist fight (with a couple chairs and other bits of furniture thrown in) though.
@@makavili4429 In the actual account it was a fist fight, first guy he punched in the throat crushing his windpipe causing him to choke to death.
Walk away from trouble IF you can.... that one line just that one line...
If if
Ya killing me Billy. When it comes to my kids, I've given one rule when it comes to fighting: never start a fight but once someone else starts a fight with you you better end it.
dude i love your picture. terry goodkinds an amazing author. that is my favorite book
Al Meyer That’s how I was raised
Absolutely.
I was raised the same way, but you stick up for your family, friends and especially your girl.
I was not raised to be either or I was the one taking care of my father so i pretty much had to be an adult starting at 8( I know there are others that share the same story in one form or another) but I grew up being an extreme pacifist I would not even fight to defend myself... to be fair that was never much of a problem I was always a BIG guy no matter what age so people didn't tend to even try to start anything... anyways I kind of found out by mistake how I was when it came to fighting... I would not do anything to defend myself but you go for friends or family... I admittedly lose control and most of the time don't remember what happened unless someone saw it and tells me so I don't even know if I am a good fighter or if my size does all the work or if I just never had an altercation with someone who knew how to fight. Frankly the fact that I "black out" as some people would call it Scares the shit outta me.
sorry for the rambling I do not know why I felt it necessary to write all that but I am not changing it now... lol. feel free to ignore me.
I remember the first time I ever heard this song. I was in my car on the way to see my mother-in-law in the hospital. The song was so powerful, I just felt stunned. Loved it ever sense and it still brings tears to my eyes.
I prefer to think them boys took they last breath that night cause Tommy literally beat them to death
"Coward of the County" was also a made-for-tv movie that aired on tv through the years; it's on dvd too.
I liked that series! Lol
Yes, it was based on a song not the other way around
Love Kenny Rogers! Should listen to The Gambler! I've always loved his voice!
Yes
Most definitely!!!! That advice in that song I still use today!!!
I couldn't agree more Amber!
LMBO Billy, you really got riled up with this one. You have to know by now that country music tells a complete story...you just have to let it play out.
I learned the hard way 😂
You listened to the whole song and still said, “Coward if the COUNTRY “😂😂😂
I kept saying county when he would say country lol
Its COUNTY
crzy4CY yes!’😖🤣
He's a product of "No kid left behind". ...he talked about his schoolin in another video.
OF! Of the county!
I love your reaction to this song! Brought back memories of my protective Dad. There were a couple of boyfriends, an ex fiance, and a jackass boss that my Dad wanted to beat up for making his "little girl" cry. Took my Mom several hours to talk him out of driving 400 miles just to teach my boss a serious lesson! He would be 99 now & I have no doubt he would still go after anyone who hurt me. ❤ 😀
Great reaction and props to mom for raising her son the right way. You definitely have your priorities right.
Watching you react to dad's words he hears after she is attacked , I sit here saying, " Hold on...he'll take care of it."
Kenny Rogers...rest in peace, brother. You entertained and gave great value to our lives. Condolences to your family.
Loved your reaction!! I kept saying, "wait, your part is coming up" lol. You're a man after my own heart. If anyone does anything to any woman that has a special place in my heart, I will definitely be "laying hands on them"!!!
This song legit brings tears to my eyes whenever I hear it.
I love watching Billy react when I know what is coming up. I keep talking to the screen..."Just wait, just wait"!
I see someone put their hands on a woman it is on. You put hands on my wife or my family you taking your last ride that day.
FFEMTTEX any man should feel that way
Right? You out your hands on anyone I love and you'd best believe there's a shovel in the back of my truck with your name on it!
So true
My argument here is, you wife, daughter has been violated or hurt, the trauma there. If you take out the person responsible for it, you go to prison or die and then your wife or daughter then must face the tragedy and trauma on their own. You are no longer their rock. I know what we want to do, but think it though, don't leave them.
Kathleen Tate sorry but no. If you've been through what the song is a about, I'd want "my man," to kickass in my honor. That being said, I'd might hold them back, buuuut hell no. Man should protect his lady and vice versa.
Kenny names them like everyone knows who they are and no one will confront the Gaitlin boy's out of fear. RIP Kenny 💔
Oh man!! You made my day! I like this song a lot, and I liked the way you reacted at every part of the song...
@Irish South Sider I know what you say, Billy paused the song multiple times and he reacted just to a portion at a time, that somehow made me smile and eventually laugh a bit because I was expecting his final reaction after all the pieces were put together...
I love your reactions - you crack me up. I totally forgot about this song from back in the day. Thank you for bringing it back from my buried memories!
Notice his father said "walk away from trouble **IF** you can" and "you don't have to fight **TO BE** a man".... which fits perfectly with Tommy's response at the end saying "sometimes you have to fight **WHEN** you're a man"... they do not contradict at all... you DON'T have to fight TO BE a man, but sometimes you have to fight because you're a man... and when they hurt the women in your life, that's when a man has to fight. If only young men today were told this and understood the depth of meaning in the words to this song. A real man fights to protect the weak, not to prove he's a man.
Tommy pulled a 'Jack Reacher' on dem Gatlyn boys.
Big Jay manners maketh man -kingsman- lol
😂😂
He turned into Denzel Washington "The Equalizer"
Totally agree Billy no way could I walk away from that
Anyone who would dare do what they did to my woman is be going to jail for what I'm gonna do
I'd go to jail for sendin' them to hell
"I'd go to jail for sending them to Hell".
Fixed that for you.
@@professionalvampire1 Yeah whoops
Most satisfying ending to a story song ever
I've always hated the part where it says they took turns and there were three of them. Just icky, creepy feeling. It makes me like the part where he stopped and locked the door so much more though. Wish you could do Garth Brooks' Lonesome Dove. Gets me emotional. Thought the ghost of his dad was helping when I was younger and it took years before I realized his mom was in the alley shooting.
"Let me just hit one of them...........with a bat" LOL!!!!
Your reaction to everything until the third verse is exactly why this story is amazing.
You having conversations with Kenny Rogers dad is everything.
But for real I have three daughters.. I would catch a murderer charge.
Liked this reaction bro I always loved this song since I was a kid
Love your comments, Billy! The “with a bat,” under your breath cracked me up!
One of his greatest hits
You have more restraint than I do!! If "Becky had been my wife or Daughter, they would find the Gatlin Boys in a ditch somewhere with a cap in their head!
Close. The Gatlin boys would be dead, but not by a gun. I have a tire iron or a baseball bat. And I'm perfectly willing to do time if somebody does that to my wife.
I had this exact reaction all through the song when my dad played it for me in middle school.
"When you can, kiddo. When you CAN. Even Jesus flipped over tables and grabbed a whip."
Billy!!!!! Please honor this man who passed away yesterday evening and do one of his songs.
We've Got Tonight
She Believes In Me
Through The Years
Don't Fall In Love With A Dreamer 🙏💔😥😥😥
The key words in his father's promise were to walk away from trouble "if you can". In this case... He can't.
I came here to pay my respects to the great storyteller Kenny Rogers and enjoyed your reaction. RIP Kenny
I read a book called "Shades of Gray" Not "50 Shades of Gray" which was a book that took place right after the Civil War. After the war the main character's parents and siblings died, either from the fighting or illness, so he was sent to live with his Uncle who a lot of people hated(including the main character) because he refused to fight in the war(the reason is explained in the book). He once walked into a store and was challenged to a fight by the store owner, he said he had no reason to fight him and started to walk away. The store owner called him a coward, so he turned around and picked him up by his shirt and said, "Who's the coward, the man who walks away from a fight he knows he can win, or a man who makes a challenge he knows won't be accepted?" I suggest reading the book, it's really good)
I love Kenny Rogers! My mom used to listen to him on cassette, when I was young!
I remember watching the tv mini series of the same name! Great story!
I've watched so many of your reactions, and this one was, by far, the best and most entertaining. Kudos!
Dude this song is a classic. I love that your doing this. Hell yeah. 🖤💚🖤💚
#CREEKSQUAD! I've listened to this growing up on the rez on the AM broadcast. Great reaction.
Dad said " if you can ". 😈
Dammit, Billy. You always make me laugh, but this song gets me in the gut every single time!! RESPECT for saying you wouldn't walk away ♥
Kenny Rogers "Long Arm of the Law"
YES! Another great one of his story songs!
This and Allysa lies are my favorite reactions you've done! Was like you were there, you really put yourself in Tommy's shoes
Heard this song earlier in the day before watching Billy's reaction and I noticed Tommy's dad said to walk away if you CAN. What happened to Becky was something that Tommy COULD NOT walk away from. Also, Kenny Rogers was basically saying that the Gatlin boys took turns raping Becky, so Tommy could not walk away from what they did to Becky..
You should have worn a Stetson for this video...Loved it...
Love Kenny. R.I.P
Love your reactions. You need to do Chris Ledoux this cowboys hat
My Beckey has a semiautomatic shotgun
and Glock 19
This Becky carries a .45 on my person, a .308 in my bag, and AR- next to my bed. Haha, Marine wife, texas raised
Watchin' you kids listen to these songs for the first time is hilarious!
If you like Kenny Rogers you should check out "I am the greatest. " I promise it will make you laugh.
New subscriber here.
Liked your reactions✌😁.
Please react to Kenny Rogers most popular song "The Gambler".
LOL "Let me just hit *one* of them. With a bat." I died.
Billy, I want you to know you are my absolute favorite youtuber for reaction videos. I binge watch alot of your videos and I love how genuine you are. That's rare. I love your appreciation for good storytelling in music. And you make me laugh...every single time. Thanks for brightening my day! Love and light to you. 💖✌
Kenny Rogers "Ruben James"
Its Coward of the. County not country
And Kenny Rogers, Not Roger
Thanks! That was driving me nuts.
Minor mistakes. Lol
My favorite Kenny Rogers song. RIP to the legend
“With a bat” lol... love it!
Tommy's Daddy was very clear... He said "Walk away from trouble, IF YOU CAN". I interpret that, as his father giving him the okay, to kick some ass when necessary.
True
Kenny Rogers and the First Edition did a song, I Just Dropped In To See What Condition My Condition Was In, that is great. I saw a live version a few years ago. You would enjoy that. I feel the same as you about there being a time to fight. ❤️❤️
Willie Nelson did an oddly satisfying version as well.
I grew up listening to country songs and this is one of my favorites. ☺️
Billy...you so crazy!!!!!!!!!!!! You had me laughing!!! I love this song and many more of Kenny Rogers songs....he's very much a story teller. Great reaction!!!!!!
RIP KENNY!
Man ya'll went and countrified this young man
Always a sign of a great, storytelling song if it causes such an emotional response! Great pick. You made me smile! Kept wanting to say "wait! It gets better!" Thank you
So loved watching you watch this video. You made my day. Kenny a classic one of the best of country.
I don't know how you could listen to the whole song, with lyrics, and still mix up county and country. Lol.
But this is what song writing is all about. He takes you through a few very strong emotions in a pretty short song, and it pays off so well in the end.
Rest in Peace Mr Rogers.
I love watching your reactions halfway through the song when I know what’s coming up. I yell at you through my phone.
I love watching Men react to this song. It's all reasonable and carefulness at first.... Then it's steel glint and fire in their eyes. No mercy.
A good song. Its message to me is, you don't have to fight to prove your a man, but a real man does know when it IS time to fight.
RIP Kenny Rogers 💔
I love the way you say "Becky"
All I kept sayin was "finish the song"....."just finish the song"
Oh hell no! We'd be throwing down! Me and those Gatlin boys!
His Dad was Violent....But he didn't want his boy to get Mean.
I knew this song but I THROUGHLY enjoyed your reaction and kept me 😂😂😂😂😂😂 appreciation for YOUR emotions ❤️❤️❤️
The Gatlin brothers is actually a band I believe..
Yep, but Kenny said he wasn't referring to them, it was just a coincidence. Now whether that was true, nobody knows anymore.
RIP Kenny Rogers 💔🙏😢
I love him. So much he makes me laugh so hard 😂😂😂❤
THEY GONNA RESPECT BECKY TODAY😂🤣😂🤣
You gotta do a reaction to Teddybear by Red Sovine
Darrell Pellmam Definantly
Damn...I nearly forgot about that song.
Really needs reacting to
Classic!! I had this 45 when I was a kid, I loved this song, of course I didn’t realize what the lyrics were about. I just really loved it.
Come on, Billy! You delayed Tommy’s justice long enough!
Now I got to rewatch this movie, lol
This was one of your best reactions I have watched!!!😂🤣😂🤣❤️❤️
Rest In Peace Kenny😔
Please react to The Gambler and Lady, The Gambler taught me a life lesson and the song Lady is a beautiful song he did! Lady was written by Lional Richie. I think they even performed that song together too. Please!!!!
Those two and "Buy Me a Rose."
They did... it was adorable.
how many of us know the song keep telling him just listen to the song while he is demanding justice. lol
RIP, Kenny Rogers...
I was randomly thinking of this song last week. I listened to it a lot growing up but not for 30ish years. And this is why I love watching you react, I never got the Becky part of the story til today. Great work as always 👍
I have the biggest crush on you Billy! I love your personality and we're both Veterans! 💖
LOL! You did a 180 pretty fast when the Gatlin boys came a callin. Haha
my dad final words to me was " the difference between a boy and a man, is a man stands up for whats right faces, but then the consequences" same thing I teach my son
You gotta let the songs play through. They tell the beginning, middle and the outcomes of stories. Life lesson: Pick your battles.
