    I love your videos because you assume nothing and show every single step. I finally learned how to wire wrap and knot beads thanks to you. I watched a lot of You Tube videos before I found yours. None of them was as thorough as yours. You were my first subscription to a jewelry video and remain my favorite. Thanks.

    Thank you so much for this video, it really made pearl knotting easier for me! I liked the way you took your time and explained everything step by step. I bought my sister a set of pearl necklace, earrings, and bracelet for Christmas, but they didn't have a clasp on it. I wanted her to be able to double the strand around her neck if she wanted to, so I needed to add a clasp. Great video!

      +Josherpoodle That's awesome, thanks so much for watching and for your kind feedback. It doesn't take long to master it. Know that it is possible (I speak from lots of experience) that you can mess it up just when you're at the end...grrrrr so frustrating so know that even someone seasoned as myself screws it up from time to time.

    Thank you very much! Your instructions are very clear and easy to follow! I have some pearls I want to re-string and I bought the knotting tool today. With your video, I think I can do this! Thank you again!

    • @makingiteasywithliz
      @makingiteasywithliz  10 лет назад

      1111cinders Right on! Take your time, practice first. No matter how skilled you become, you will mess up. I have had strands 3/4 finished and either my silk broke (watch your tension when pulling down on the cord) or the knot ended up where I didn't want it and had to cut it apart and start all over. You'll do great! Thanks so much for watching.

    • @1111cinders
      @1111cinders 10 лет назад

      Hi Liz: Well, I strung/knotted my first "trial run" necklace. You make it look so easy! It took me a while to get a feel for the tension on the cord. With lots of practice, I believe I will be able to create a real necklace!
      I ran into an unexpected problem. The internal mechanism of the knotting tool I bought, must have been coated with a little oil for smooth action. I'm sure you can imagine what that does to the silk thread! In your video, it looks like you are using the BeadSmith Knotting Tool. Is that correct? It looks like I need to purchase a new one!
      Thank you again for your instructional video! Making It Easy with Liz

    Thank you very much for this video Liz!! I have a Tahitian pearl necklace and a green jade beaded necklace that broke a while ago and haven't been able to fix.. :( I took them to a fine jewelry store to get re-knotted, but they charge "by the inch" which comes out to a fortune of money!! If you start at the end of the cord instead, the part you cut off when you're finished still has the needle attached and can be used for another necklace or bracelet.

    This is a terrific video that actually shows how to hold the thread and beads to actually be able to use this thing! I bought one a while back but couldn't figure it out from the included instructions. I'm going to go dig it out and give it another shot with your video.
    Doesn't it get a bit ungainly as you make progress on a longer necklace, though?
    As a side note, thank you for having such a nice, neat manicure! So many people make videos like this with clearly no attention to their fingernails, and no apparent awareness of what their hands will look like close up in a video, and a lot of them are pretty gross to watch just because of that ;-)

    • @makingiteasywithliz
      @makingiteasywithliz  9 лет назад +1

      +wendyannh Thank you so much for watching and for your kind feedback. Yes, it can become a handful when the necklace gets long. Regarding my nails, funny you say that because when I owned my bead store and taught jewelry making, my nails always looked horrible because I was always working with dirty wire and metal. I decided to do a video from my store with no manicure and even stated that I did need one when I got a comment from Russia about how unkept my nails were and that she couldn't take me serious as an artist. Well, from that day on I always make sure my nails look good. LOL

    • @1015SaturdayNight
      @1015SaturdayNight 5 лет назад

      wendyannh I just made a long necklace using this method. It does slow you down, but it works. I found when it got really long, it helped to sit my tool down and not to pick it up until time to stick it into the loop to do its thing. Before that, I need my hands to focus on getting the strand through the loop. Good luck :)

    What would you recommend for a very long string of aurora borealis beads? Whatever they're strung with now has gotten somewhat hard and the beads don't drape any more. I don't think they need to be individually knotted. Thank you for posting this video it was very informative. If I ever have pearls to restring I will definitely use your method with the tool.

    • @makingiteasywithliz

      Billy Nage Thank you Billy for watching. I would knot them. To get a drapy result, knotting is great for any kind of beads.

      Irina Firuti On the Internet, no. When I had my store, I went to Vegas every year to hand pick my pearls. There is a bead show every spring for a week in Vegas, end of May into June. Pearls and the Internet can be disappointment.

    Now I want to make a pearl strand for my mom in law (63 yrs). I wanna ask what's the size of the pearls you were using in this video? and may you have a hint on what size of pearl would be appropriate for women at my mom's age?

      Making It Easy with Liz The titles are sharp, the ad is sharp but when your video comes on the re-knotting tool has "jaggie's" or serrated step sides. My iPad will show 1080p but your video is about 480i. I'm not slamming you, it's an informative video, just replace it with the correct resolution. I realize you are a bead person not a video person. I am a video person and I found your video for my wife. Just upload the proper resolution and replace this one, write down your settings and use them for future uploads. Easy peasy 😄

My friend was able to do a necklace. with Liz's video. Best regards.
