my Dad had Dylan & Petty.. i had Pearl Jam & Nirvana.. and the bridge between them is so strong.. we both still adore their music & now we have the added value of knowing their spirit is closer than we ever could have imagined.. the love of music is my father's greatest gift to me.. and when i hear Eddie sing Tom's words.. when that bridge is built... i melt
I'm not a cover person by any means but you have GOT to be one of the ELITE talents and with one of THOSE voices for me to love you for it. This is Tom Petty we're talking about! Who can decently cover THAT legend at such a young age and not an impersonator?
This brought tears to my eyes Tom and Eddie where close close friends more them most people know, they both gave each other advice on songs before recording them Tom Petty is my Number one favorite and hearing Eddie singing Tom songs is awesome
Eddie is just a class act. So respectful. Had to be tough for Scott too. This was just so darn cool on so many levels. Legends keeping legendary music alive. Well done gents!
Thank you Ed and Scott for showing so much love and respect to Tom. We lost a great brother and friend. I'm still in shock to be brutally honest. However, Tom wouldn't want that - the music must go on. He genuinely painted the landscape for so many of us. His love for 'the music' and 'the fans' was always so tremendous! Love you Tom, rest easy my friend. 💔🎸🎩🕶
I can’t hear this song without tearing up. I lost a buddy at 35 unexpectedly and this song reminds me of him. It also reminds me of Tom, who WAS music to me in my formative years. Most Petty leaves me happy, but this song is different. It’s magic and beauty just overwhelm me to tears. Eddie and PJ are the best and musician’s musicians. In the spirit of the bands before them, they have kept it going for decades. Hopefully to pass on to the next generation. Thanks for posting this. I loved it.
All these e tributes to Tom Petty are both beautiful and a testament to how inspirational and far-reaching his music always will be. Truly incredible!!! Bravo Eddie Vedder…...
So sad Eddie, so sad Tom.. You belong somewhere you feel free.. Wherever you are Tom! RIP, but you got someone who loves you tonight, here in this world.. your voice, your poetry for us.. forever!
Thank you for posting, although I am crying so hard now - so beautiful - thank you Eddie and Tom Petty and Heartbreaker’s name that I am too upset to remember - much love to you all, and to the one who posted it too. Much love.
Although still concidered by many to be the King, Elvis Presley pales in comparison to Tom Petty. Tom was a songwriter and a great one and a multimusician and although a throat singer and therefore with a nasal and tight voice he managed to be a good singer. By the time Elvis died Tom had taken his crown away.
Marc Poindexter I saw Tom with Bob Dylan during middle 80’s in Dallas...No disrespect to the poet, but give me Tom Petty and The 💔 everyday!! I really wanted to hear “Lay Lady Lay” but no...😢
Room at the Top is one of Tom's greatest songs from the best album (IMO) the band ever recorded, Echo. It doesn't seem like the audience knows it, but no matter.
Eddie sang Room at the Top at the Oscars this year in tribute to Tom. Tom said it was the saddest song he ever wrote because he was going through his divorce. It is a beautiful song.
Eddie had me in tears and I wasn't watching who died during the Oscar tribute. Just knowing they were friends and he kept performing the way Tom would have if he could have! Man...if you don't feel that you don't know what music is!
Echo is the saddest album they did, but I agree it is brilliant. Took me awhile to appreciate it since it was such a departure from his upbeat style. But it has some great stuff.
The Heartbreakers can come back - why not go on tour with Vedder. It's been almost 5 years now. Let's move on. No reason why a great band like Heartbreakers should no longer play. Eddiie can sing Tom's songs. Life is too short. Let's see Heartbreakers do a concert with Eddie.
@@benframe8581 I'm not hurt. Just disappointed. I've always respected that Eddie was vocal about his political views but recently he's shown that he's running with the Soros gang and there's no way to justify that. Hatemongers (among other disgusting things) in a SJW wrapper.

Wow! That was so beautiful ! Thanks so much for sharing that. Music is such an incredible gift that brings people together in so any ways.
Beautiful
Eddie sings Tom's songs so naturally. It is truly a pleasure.

It’s like Tom’s songs were written for Eddie to sing... two beautiful humble souls
I’m still so heart broken by Toms passing. This was a beautiful tribute❤️
One of a kind. Loved by fans and other artists alike. RIP, Tom.
I will never tire of how much Eddie loved Tom.
I'm sobbing
Thank you Honey for your love and support. How long have you been listening to my songs?
Tom Petty was one of America's jewels. To one day feel free...a very human condition.

Shakey Perspective greatness is seen and heard here. Well remembered.
I've watched this no less than 500x and don't plan on stopping any time soon.
I still cry everytime I hear Petty. He made everything clear and human.
today is toms birthday .what an amazing man and guiding light for me and so many others through this crazy life .time to rock out all day

Made the tears fall for sure! I miss Tommy and all the heartbreakers. So greta to see Scott playin with Eddie. What a treat.
Worthy cover. One of the best. Toms hard to do justice to even from music legends.
Gotta be my favorite Petty song. How it opens that album. Still holds up. Great tribute. RIP

Miss Tom Petty. So many people do. He was / is a treasure.

everybody knows tom was the king of rock and roll nothing will ever change that

So great

Cool..I was tripping when Tom Petty didn't get the recognition. 0n Refugee , he turns that corner , when it came out sent chills up my spine. 👍
stop you in your tracks
Room at the top is the song I played over and over when my husband died last February
So sorry for your loss.. May this song help you heal🙏

Cheers mate

Just a well done reminder of a giant we lost...
It will be one year on 10/2. RIP Tom. :(

I love you Eddie vedder always
Thank you Paula for your love and support. How long have you been listening to my songs?
That was nice, especially Thurston's vocals on room at the top. Sounded just like the album
nice job eddie, love this petty song
🌷♥️
Cool Cool Cool !!! Tom Petty deserves it from Eddie (another great rocker) !!!
I want Wildflowers played at my funeral someday.
Absolutely fucking love this 💚🇮🇪
Hey that was pretty cool and as a big Petty fan, thought it was well done...✌️
Tom Petty 🙏🏼
I can't play this song yet, still...... can't get through it.
You belong somewhere you feel free...
Why do all the great ones keep leaving us too soon? ❤️❤️❤️
TV Tells stories.
♥️
God I miss Tom Petty
Looks like Scott Thurston on the piano.

hello mom, sleep well. im finein foot fillks about to hit mountan. found a lover i think. yes so. o hear you. love mom.
Eddie wished he had the demeanor of a Tom Petty he would have been so much better off Stay off politics
SJW Vedder needs to stay away from Tom Petty songs. He's unworthy it makes me sick seeing someone so vile tarnish something so sacred.
get a life, played out of nothing but respect.
@@drew5965 That or Eddie Vedder hasn't been relevant since Vitalogy and he's trying to cash in on the death of a true musical legend.
Who hurt you man

Brian Premo Cash In? I think he’s doing ok
