Man o man that tilapia was massive brother, such a beautiful fish. Those bluegills were giants brother. Nicely done. Looking forward to your upcoming content especially the catfish and tarpon videos!
Thanks man, due to your comment on my last video I think I will start trying to explain why I am doing what im doing a little more fully. Not that I have that much knowledge to offer, but maybe folks can at least see the thought process behind my fishing a little bit.
Thanks man, that tilapia was a blast, pretty fun when they get to that size. Seems most people enjoy explanations of gear and tactics, im going to start doing that more...do you agree?
Ty PigPatrol I absolutely agree. I always wonder what u use, that’s why I asked u that one time, and I went out and got some 1/50 jigs and had success. It doesn’t have to be a long drawn out segment about gear. What u did was perfect.
I like catching crappie after a big rainy system.....they will bunch up around drains and places where current brings baitfish to them.....it’s one great summer and fall pattern.....had my best day ever fishing a pond drain after a huge rain....over 200 slab crappie up to 2 pounds every cast for several hours.....had I not had plans later that evening who knows what my record might be....stupid wedding day.
There is a slight chance I leave the country over the holidays if she is not approved for her visa to come and visit here. But, I am going for a few weeks next summer for sure. You should make plans to go while I am there and catch some barramundi and snakehead. I will help you get around.
Ive never had wild caught tilapia, could be interesting to try them. Theres literally billions of them in Houston, they get pretty annoying sometimes when they're small.
I almost always prefer wild caught fish to farm raised. Salmon, trout and catfish every time. I’ve never had wild tilapia from Houston, but I’d bet they have even better flavor than the stuff in the Safeway. Or Publix or whatever
My dad always said ' if bluegills got as big as bass, you wouldn't be able to bring them in '! He was right too. Could you imagine what fun that would be?
What a great video ! Your buddy from Pig patrolTV told me about you. Great video 4 real . I catch pan fish on my area but omg nothing that big thos bluegill are monster one of my dreams man. Fish on bro!
Thanks for watching Terry! They tend to brighten up in the spawn, and lose their bright colors as they phase back into the depths after the spawn is done.
Hey Ty...great vid again! Beautiful coppers and that tilapia was insane! Also, I have caught some coppernose, during the spawn, that did not exhibit the fin edging, but were traditionally very dark and the copper "patch" on the head was more brilliant than during non-spawning times. I looked at my RM pics of those huge coppers during a May trip and they did not have the edging, but I see it in a lot of western/southwest regions of the country that have giant coppers. Wonder why that is...as I would love to get a pig copper with the edging. Again...great vid, and yes...I am jealous!
Thanks for watching Jim! The fish in these ponds are all so different from one another. I should have specified that the fin edging isn't on every spawning fish, but I have only seen it on spawning fish. Their eyes also sometimes get to be bright red. I think it may have a lot to do with water clarity, as well as what phase of the spawn they are in. Do you know, how far north can coppers thrive?
The farthest north I have ever heard of coppers is southern most tidewater regions of Virginia. They are common, and native, to the tidal rivers of the Albermarle Sound in northern coastal N Carolina and are the dominant bluegill specie in those systems. I fished with my friend and bluegill expert Jeffrey there back in 2013 and I can tell you that for shear numbers of big 10-11 inch fish, Elizabeth City NC may just be the bluegill capital of the world. Yet nobody knows it or fishes it for them! Crazy! Yes, several lakes I fish have color variations among the panfish there.
man im coming to florida in july are you in florida? i would love to get on some of these fish ... i already got some tips from the local bait shops i can't wait
There is a company called Action Hat that sells hats with a Gopro attachment to them. What is your thought, do you prefer the chest mount or hat mount more, as a viewer?
@@TyPigPatrol Actually this is my first watch on your channel just found your channel. So I will watch more and let u know. Where r u fishing? I live in southwestern lower Michigan. 8 miles north of the university of Notre Dame.

Right on! Keep on slaying those PIGS!
Will do, went out tonight and caught about 30 crappie and one monster bass on the setup!
It’s so good to see someone else appreciate big bluegills and share the same passion for them. Great vid👍
Thanks Brandon! im all about them, man. Just as much fun as any other fish out there IMO! Thanks for watching!
Okay you have inspired me to get off my butt and start fishing some of these neighborhood ponds. I too live in Texas. Houston to be exact.
Get after it man! its crazy how big of fish some of those ponds can hold.
Where is this location? I'm a fool for tilapia, and I'm near the Houston area, too!
