Well done & simplified for beginners! Thank you for demystifying making a salve. 20 yr Herbalist. Some Notes to assist in questions: Lavender essential oil is a natural preservative & can be kept for an indefinite time assuming you don't keep it in a very hot environment. Usually in a bathroom cabinet or dimly lit area or cabinet out of direct sunlight is best. Macerating the plant with the Almond oil (though some caution should be used as it can go rancid ~ timeline 6mths to a year depending on storage methods) is how it is done with sunlight, yet do not expose to sunlight after the essential oil has been added. May also use Olive oil for steeping plant material. Essential oils when exposed to sunlight or extreme heat can break down their natural healing properties. Always cool after melting in the bees wax a bit to the warm stage (believe you did in this video as it is not steaming) or blend in essential oil with an immersion blender for a creamy texture... as I noted, extreme heat can reduce healing qualities of essential oils. Steam distillation is used to make Lavender Essential oil. It takes 3 pounds of lavender flowers in a steam desolator to make 15 ml of lavender oil which is why most of us buy it from a reliable source. Please check from many online inquiries as well as double check it is not a blend as some large box stores often sell blends instead of all natural pure essential oils. This balm can also be used for simple burns from say like a hot oven not an open blister though.
Thank you for your wonderful information - very useful and educational. Also thank you for your appreciation. It means a lot coming from an expert like yourself. Keep safe.
I observed a change in your container from point 5:55 and 6:15 in the video because I myself have wondered what is the best container "to pour from" This can be very tricky before the oils start to set up. I need a container with a lip! Thank you for your very nice video

So much ASMR in this video
Just found your channel I have so much lavender I'll try this salve. Thank you.
Hi Bernadette. We make the Slave every year. We give it as Christmas gifts and people keep coming back asking if they could have some more. Keep safe.
Make sure the base has cooled to 165F before adding the EO or it can burn off a lot of its scent.

Hi Jill. Yes I poured from the saucepan to a warmed lipped jug so that it would be easier to pour into the small jars. Keep safe.
You make things so much easier to understand! Can we use any other types of oil?
Yes you can use other oils - best to Google them.
Thanks Good Video

Why use the fresh lavender and then use essential oil???
Hi Glynes. The fresh lavender gave a nice scent but I felt it needed to be a little stronger. Keep safe.
No actual measuring cups in the house mate!?
Can you explain?
