    The physics of holding that extended bridge from only one side is unbelievable.

      Meh aluminium bridge and really really heavy armored tank with a really big 830 bhp engine in the back. In total it weights 43 tons since it still has the full battletank version's armor on it. And since this is an old leopard 1 tank it's good old laminated steel What's really impressive is that this vehicle lays a 22 meter bridge in 3 minutes, can do so without personeel having to come from cover and if it does have a problem with the engine for example it can swap it out within 2 hours. That's crazy. It can also fit ground moving blades and does a cool 62 kmh on the road.

    OMG the weight it can hold when extended is amazing ! so cool bridge i like this more that the american style bridge tank

    • @MrAppie9090
      @MrAppie9090 Год назад +1

      It's because with the American style you advertise your location to everyone. And since the point of these things is to come at the enemy from an angle they did not expect that's a problem. I mean otherwise you might as well use main roads. This takes 3 minutes, is way more sneaky and it can just pick that bridge up from the other side and keep with the rest of the vehicles. Something not all American ones can do.

    I've driven over a few of these in an M113... in the dark. There's no lats allowed once on the bridge. I cannot remember it's length, but if it has solid edgings it only needs 50cm each end. 22 Meters comes to mind but it's been a few years.

    Dutch Army develops with German counter partners military equipment.
    The bridge classification is much to low for modern track powered armory.
    So the dutch are developing a new improved up-to-date system.
    And this is a training situation.

    Hallo.
    Ich war vor 30 Jahren Fahrer und dann Kommandant auf der Panzerschnellbrücke Bieber . Es ist schön dieses Video zu sehen. Ich konnte mich an den Ablegevorgang bestens erinnern.
    TOLL !!!

    In 1976 i had such a combo on the trailer, it was defective could not decouple the bridge. Normaly only the chassis on my trailer and the bridge in two parts on other trailers. Transporting problem was its height.

    Cool, didn't know that the dutch army uses german military equipment. Also I never thought to see a Bieber and an AH-64 Apache in the same video. Nicely filmed by the way, i like the perspective.

      +Soldier The Canadian Forces uses alot of old German gear, as well. We currently use both the Leopard (both versions,) and the Mercedes G-Wagen (worst possible excuse for military transportation if you ask me.) We'd be better off if we just replaced all our G-Wagens with the Chevy Suburban variants we use.

    • @BlackThanator
      @BlackThanator 9 лет назад +2

      INF1D3L010
      I agree, the Mercedes G isn't that well thought out. The MAN multi-purpose trucks are a way better (uh...) way to transport troops and supplies, although they are larger.

    медленно работает. больше 3 минут раскладывается.
    Российский МТУ раскладывает мост 19 метров меньше чем за 2,5 минуты.
    Можно конечно сказать, что 30 сек. это не отрыв, но в военных условиях этого времени достаточно, чтобы выстрелить из РПГ и сжечь мостоукладчик прям на месте.

      Sharp, but no actually. At the very end the filmer zooms in and it is still intact. I think it’s some snow falling off the wheel under the trembling of the vehicle.

    6:23 min für eine Panzerbrücke auszulegen ist zu lange, im Ernstfall wäre diese Panzerbrücke samt Panzer nicht mehr zu gebrauchen, da durch gegnerischer Angriff zerstört, arme Einheit, schnelligkeit ist angesagt

      @ThePandoraGuy 9 лет назад +1

      +TheVippi Du weißt schon das Maschinenbau Kiel die Legezeit der Brücke mit 6-8 Minuten angibt. Auch im realen Gefecht. Außerdem steht der Biber ja bei Feindkontakt nicht alleine da und sollte daher gut abgesichert sein, darfts nicht vergessen, die Truppen die über die Brücke rüber wollen sind in der Regel vorort.

      Coen Voors Its 830 HP engine brings it up to 63 km/h on plain terrain. The Leopard 1 chassis has a very small weight with a strong engine and transmission, which give the vehicle its immense mobility.
      Google it if you don't believe me, the tank is called "Brückenlegepanzer Biber" or "Bridgelayer Biber".
