Great video! FYI. The size is always from the buckle to the middle hole, which will then always give to +/- 5cm extra (given there is 5 holes in total). I have the same belt but it only came with one strap (also in brown). I really miss a black one too!

I hate that the Valentino site doesn’t tell you all of the pertinent information. The Real Real tells you what’s the measurement on the first hole and last hole. So you know the range. My pant belt hip measurement is 95cms. But does that I mean I buy size 95? Is that the last hole? The first hole? Who the hell knows 😩

5 months later, how is the belt doing? Wear and tear wise? I am thinking of buying it but it is alot of money for me. So I am trying to be as sure as possible that it's worth it.

Yes, they are removable! I was a bit concerned about this as well but turns out my problem was just misplacing them when I took them off 😄It's a great belt, I'm sure you will love it!

I’m going to get this for my fiancée as a Christmas gift. 30mm seems that it would fit anything but I think she would like the 40mm based its size and statement. Have you found any limitations with belt width in regards to loop holes in jeans and pants? Also is the measurement 30mm/40mm the buckle measurement or the belt measurement?
Oh that is a fabulous gift, she will love it! I just went to measure the belt, it measures 40mm and the buckle measures 52mm in height. And yes, it does fit some of my jeans, but not all unfortunately. But I have never regretted getting this larger size as it works so well with everything else that I have in my wardrobe. I have 3 or 4 belts that are 30mm, but I always end up wearing this :)
I definitely consider it unisex and it is listed in both the mens and womens section on the Valentino website. I would definitely take a look as they have so many versions of this belt now! And I would primarily consider the width of the belt (mine is 40mm), to make sure it fits the trousers :)
It sounds like the brass has tarnished? I know people have experienced that with the Gucci belts (usually after having them for a longer time, though) and have been able to remove it with Brasso. I have never tried that myself, though. If the belt is completely new, that sounds a little strange, maybe contact customer service? I have not experienced any tarnishing yet.
Oh wow, that does not sound normal? If it flakes off, I would contact the store where you bought it. If it is tarnished (which a lot of brass will do), you can buff it out with some silver polish!
