- Cyrus loves supercars. He loves SUVs. But he loves classic cars the most and this could very possibly be one of his all time favourites. The first EVER Maruti Suzuki sold in India - DIA 6479, originally delivered to Harpal Singh by the late Indira Gandhi is now with Maruti Suzuki once again and has been recently restored. Cyrus takes a closer look at this very important landmark in India’s automotive history.

Hands down one of the best videos PD has ever made. The bike/car being reviewed or the production quality doesn't matter but what this video aims to do is capture the heart & soul of every 80s/90s kid who started their petrolhead journey just like me! & From this very car! I still remember the days my dad used to own the SS 80 model....i even remember the registration no. of that car too. & This brings back so many memories of it. Thank you PD for making this video ❤️
That’s exactly the emotion I was going through. I genuinely had a lump in my throat the first time I sat in it and started it up.
P
Excellent video! Could just feel the emotions of Cyrus when he sat into the car!
PD should do such videos on old classic cars more often!
We have heard you. And we will do it! 😁
@@CyrusDhabhar Waiting eagerly 😍
Its my dream car to own. Then an old Contessa. In this age of sensors and ADAS, this is the common mans driving car. Literally. Fun watching this video. I don't know if I can sleep after watching this. Look at the keys itself. So original. Metal.

Brings back memories.. My dad was so excited that he took me to see this car being showcased and then he booked it.. And waited patiently.. Untill the allotment came through and then we all celebrated. Every family member, even the unknown ones dropped in to ride.
At that time.. I didn't fully understand as to what the fuss was all bout but in many ways the Maruti 800 was the turning point of India's fortunes.
Awesome!! We had one too. MAS720. Delivered in January 1984
Sad... That this video isn't being watched by more people.... Historic video about the most Historic car in Indian Automotive History
Evergreen Classic Look. Superb.
*Goosebumps* ♥
I love this little car for the way it looks!
You guys should make more videos on classic and vintage cars of India.
Truly one of the best videos PD has ever made. Never owned a maruti 800 but the essence and history it carries...well aware of it. And that's captured perfectly in this video. Could feel the emotions Cyrus was going through. And that last part teared me up a little bit. Powerdrift, more such videos on classic cars and bikes, please!
That door shut sound u can still here from any new age maruti car.. iconic sound still carried to new model.. 🤣😂
This is the reason why Powerdrift is different than others!!! One fine morning it can deliver a video which goes straight into our heart!!!
I would love to request RUclips some special features for video like this. This goes far beyond like.
Only one question. We were privileged to have one of these legends in our family and under the speedometer 'Made in Japan' was written. So I always thought it was made in Japan. Isn't that the case?
Hey this kind of car still runs in our state... Pure gem..
Absolutely brilliant!
Thank you for making this.
Thank you for making this video!
Love the maruti 800 ❤️
Proud owner of one of these still runs like new
I can't even imagine me saying 'Maruti Daihatsu'
Would love to see that alternate reality...
It would have been just Maruti just like we call it Toyota and not Toyota Kirloskar.
This is story of rag to rich from road side to showroom . Kind off . But good to see it in its full glory 🙂
now this is what i call automotive journalism!!! great job
Thank you :)))
And we hope you do more of these videos!

Awesome review brother ❤️
I don't actually mind History lessons on Indian Automotive Industry and you can keep going on talking about the Car .
PowerDrift 😍😍😍
It is car i need ,how to buy this car
This can be a great web series. Something similar to Harley and the Davidson ❤
Loved the baby in u .. I m also a fiat 800 baby
These are the only specifications a driver needs on road...
Remaining specifications are just for making a car expensive...
Why don't Maruti make a SS EV version
My dad had one in blue colour.
I could hardly see the car. Cameraman gave your footage more than the car.
Sir scooter video pannunga best scooter in India

sochne wali bat ye hain.. ki.. 1960 me car ki bat hoti thi.. or aaj.. Gaay mata ki.. 😂😂😂😂
I dont understand one thing is that when all the parts are imported from Japan and then assembled in India then why is it called Made in India and not Assembled in India. The exact same thing is happening with the Mobile manufacturing industry. Its not Make in India instead it is Assembled in India.
because you need to walk before you can run !
That's how fake marketing works 🤣 import every component, assemble only and declare to world with chest thumping, that it's Made in India
It's not all the parts though. That's the point you're missing. If it was all the parts then it would have been a CKD unit.

Man the fake emotional acting is hilarious. It's just an old boring commuter car.
Everyone is not the same person as you!
@@AM-zk7pj Oh I'm glad I am not the same person as the other's here in the comments. It's like getting emotional over a Lada.
Failed attempt to look cool👎
Love the Maruti ❤️
