That man said a lot of shit he was wrong about, great salesman. Had the Charisma to tell the customer that they were wrong and dumb and don't want what they actually want.
In all fairness, removing the optical drive is pretty much the only decision that was referenced in this video that was the right call. I switched to USB drives years ago because I just don't need them that much. And I mostly use a desktop computer that's got the space to put one in.
The worst one, not the hockey puck mouse as much as I'd like it to be that, was the period where they sold laptops with one USB-C port that was used both for charging and for connecting devices.

Don't forget that Touch Bar also got boiling lava hot. I have a macbook pro with it and after a little while of working I am pretty sure you could cook an egg on it.
Which year might I ask? Mine works great ... it's m2 btw so that might be why?
@@user-bk5xo1gj7k 2018. The battery also completely died on it recently (it degraded quite quickly and had to always be plugged in) so I will have to take it in for the $200 repair there.

My 2018 MacBook Pro is fairly cool until safari goes on a rampage of doing something odd which I haven't got narrowed down to a specific reason yet and it's been a couple of years. It does web browsing fine but I've never thought of the Touch Bar as being too hot just because of it being the Touch Bar.

Removing the headphone jack is one of the greatest debacles that we see more & more manufacturers emulating along with removable batteries.
As long as Apple keep soldering peripherals to the mobo they are Wrong, as long as Apple are fighting the right to repair, they are Wrong, as long as Apple treat their customers as shit, they are Wrong.

I used to have a Logitech wireless mouse that ran on batteries. The batteries were removable and the wireless port was also a charging station. It came with 2 batteries, so I could charge one and still use it.
With Apple, you get 1 mouse and (maybe) one cable to charge it (not sure if it's included, as I haven't checked and don't really care). If you want to continue using it, when it needs to be charged, you just buy a 2nd mouse. Simple Apple Logic, I guess...
@@estupor9081 I've been recharging my Logitech wireless mice for decades, and when I saw where Apple put the port on the mouse for the iMac at work, I was dumbfounded and couldn't believe it passed any kind of serious user test.
10 minutes of charging lasts about 10 hours of use. Just plug it in and go make some coffee or something. At the end of the day, charge it overnight and it’ll last another month. It’s not the end of the world. It does come with the cable too.

Looks to me that buttonless ipod is pretty much like a radio station or Spotify stream ... seems to be good enough for many people as long as some s**t is playing...

I loved the 3D Touch and thought it was one of the best implemented features of the iPhone and was devastated when they removed it on the subsequent phones. You really feel the “time” as you hold down and wait for the “press” to happen.

Work laptops got switched from Lenovo (I had P51, mostly were P52s) to Dells (Precision I think, cant be bothered to remember), maaaaaaaaaan Dells are the biggest pieces of shit I have ever seen, the plastic, the quality, the cooling, the touch pad, not a single thing is good.

As a person who makes frequent spelling errors, I actually really like the touch bar on my mac. Because it shows me correct spelling and I can just click it instead of whole selecting the word and right clicking it.
I'm really glad someone remembers 3D touch and understands that haptic touch is just a fancy word for long press. I want 3D touch back!

Tap the screen to wake up buttons to turn up volume on Touch Bar. I don't see what the problem is I like it. Of all the touchscreen buttons that are being used in vehicles and such I do think the Touch Bar was well done and it didn't need to be power sucking high resolution. but yes getting rid of all of the ports in the name of super thin non-repairable.

wireless charging is far from Apple's idea, and it was added because of demand (people whine about phones that don't ship with it even today, look at the Pixel 6a).

I'm using an HP 6730b Laptop from 2008 and it has a touchbar like thing, so Apple isn't that innovative, and it's a useful stuff, so it's a bad thing that they've removed it.

Sacrificing functionality on a device that is supposed to be all about functionality for the sake of elegance is always never a good idea.
Plenty of misses, but I definitely love the touchpad, so you don't need to memorize what each function key does in each program. The closest thing is an Elgato StreamDeck+.

personally what i think is dumb is a phone (s21 ultra) has a sim card slot and esim, but no sd card slot. If you have esim i would much rather have an sd card slot than a sim card slot
