Thanks man! Yeah it's sad really.. Artist puts in all the time and work and they get screwed big time ! BUT, They go crazy trying to get you to follow their Spotify even without making any money in the process.
Wow! That's not good at all. How rude of Spotify! I wish I had the money to support bands more! But thanks for the info, Pat! And thank you for sharing this video! 🖤🤘
You are welcome! I understand not having money lol, trust me! But if you want to really support your favorite artists it is the only way to do it. That and sharing their content so that hopefully someone else supports them thanks to you. MP3s and Spotify plays don’t do much, specially for up and coming bands that really need the support!
What's really scary is that bands are willingly doing this and not realizing they are shooting themselves in the foot. They become "Spotify big" and remain broke. And then they go play live and realize they have no impact on the music scene
Id say that technique shouldn't be morally wrong since its covid and some people don't have any jobs so making that extra 100 dollars a week can mean they can feed there children or pay rent and bills...you must do anything to support the ones u luv even if it means doing stuff like this
You obviously missed the point of the video completely (or didn't bother watching the whole thing). The problem is NEVER the little guy who is just starting out but it's rigged in favor of the big corporations and labels who can afford to pay thousands of employees to farm phones and will never get penalized for that cause they drive the ad counts up.
This is only the tip of the iceberg! There's more shady crap behind it (and even more i will never even find out!!) That's why i keep telling people to support their favorite artists first hand!
Thanks Bill!! I did my research and found out that most people don’t know about this or even thought it could be possible... bands are getting dragged through the mud too
Damn i really didnt know this, its crazy how this happens so much and the bands that are just starting out and they have to deal with this type of stuff
Yes! I've already covered that on a different video. But even though they work sort of the same they are completely different. Btw RUclips (or Spotify for that matter) don't really want you to "buy premium" They make less than 5% of their money from that. They both want the ads' money. The strategy with premium is that you would watch for longer periods if you don't have breaks and they charge the person to make up for the money the ads would make. The HUGE difference to me is the fact that on RUclips you can create a community and actually interact with subscribers and members. It gives you a chance to show the person behind the music and it is so much more than a song or a track were as Spotify is merely a music platform.
That's awesome! He who thinks is worth double... It's crazy how sometimes we are manipulated into thinking we are supporting and helping our favorite bands (or even our own) when we really are not having any impact on them. It's funny but I told people this before, ONE $2,99 member is worth 600 views or 700 Spotify plays! One $5 EP sale is worth about 1000 RUclips views and 1200 Spotify plays! And bands don't want to invest on EPs but have no problem paying for Spotify Advertisement!
🤣🤣 my job here is done! To be honest the problem is not entirely Spotify. It’s the fact that people think they are supporting artists this way when they are obviously not. But its not the people’s fault. It is the people in the business and the musicians’ job to let listeners know what’s really is going on...
Thanks Man! Yeah that’s the issue. They sure don’t want people to know this but it’s out there... just hope more people learn about this behavior and stop it.
Thanks man!! Sometimes it’s hard cause you know you are going against the “popular” opinion but someone’s got to wave the musicians flag and tell people what really is going on!

Buen video!
I've never really used it. I try to listen to CDs as much as posible but yeah, it's fucked up and people are going crazy trying to get ranked higher.. I don't know, they are obsessed by it!

Always wondered where Spotify got their money. I thought it was from subscriptions...
Hell no! It’s all the ads!
They all use ads. Same with artists.
