    Very interesting and clear introduction of the Dutch language, thank you very much 😉! And with this incidental insertion of Gronings, cute! Also I am fan of the 'we are simple people' 👍😉

    Moi, Tom. Some summers ago I travelled around The Netherlands and out of the blue I heard and saw the words "straat" and "dank" in the streets. That drove me crazy and I realized this language is so similar to English and German. That's amazing to be honest for those who love languages like myself. Then I just saw these similarities on internet and now I'm here just to chill out and ask myself If still have time to learn one more language. Carry on with your amazing videos and teach us more about your northern culture. Moi!

      @WandelLander 6 лет назад

      Graag gedaan! I'll try to make a video about that, but the truth is that I'm also not entirely sure what the rules behind 'de' and 'het' are. As far as I know, de used to be for male and feminine nouns, and het for neuter nounds. However, we don't really learn about genders in school anymore, so it's just a matter of learning it word-by-word.

      sabbagh, "Dutch" is the English word for "Nederlands". Don't confuse it with "Deutsch", which is the German word for German, or "Duits", which is the Dutch word for German. (And the German word for Dutch is "holländisch" or "niederländisch".)
