Great to see John Guerin. His work with Tom Scott and the LA express is one of a kind. Wish there was more of his work available in video. Thx for posting!
Wow! Yes, LA Express was great- I loved his solo on “Mad Drums & Englishmen” on the Shadowplay LP. His work with Michael Franks- Eggplant and I Really Hope It’s You, and of course, his work on Gate of Dreams (Claus Ogerman). Drummers like John bring honor and respect to the tile “Drummer”. Thank you so much for posting this. We miss you John...
So this is the fella that played on Frank Zappa's "Willie the Pimp"? His playing on that song is AMAZING. He was right there with Mitch Mitchell on the fronteir of fusion drumming.
Thanks John for the wonderful drum part on In France They Kiss On Main Street. Been trying to figure out part of it since the record came out. Still trying.
Loved him on Pat Williams Threshold Album.I WISH I could hear him on a Drum Seminar!
John Guerin was my friend, mentor, drinking buddy, and bandmaster. I miss him everyday!
