How about the best engaging word I've ever seen. It's the "Hi" from you, Vanessa. I littrally open the video just to hear it from you, Ammmazing! Anyway, I'm having trouble pronouncing "freight forwarder" fast, tricky.
That's because you weren't pronouncing it incorrectly. You don't have to drop the R. It's more common to say it without the R, but to say that pronouncing it with the R is wrong is nonsense. It is the older, but still viable, pronunciation.
U can pronounce it with the r. Dropping the r is actually incorrect and is colloquial. Im a native american also haha and it bothers me when people drop the r
Vanessa's pronunciation is perfect.that's not what you will get out there. Different countries or different regions, different accents and pronunciation. Great lesson.
I've been studying English for more than 10 years and I didn't even recognize that the R sound in February is silent! Thanks for this amazing video and for your smile ♥
I came here because of my activity to find mispronounced words and to pronounce them correctly. CLOTHES is too difficult for me to pronounce. Our teacher told us that it pronounce as "CLOZ". I have learned a lot watching this video. Thank you❤️
Great lesson with lots of new words for me. Totally new the word subtle and its " not clear" meaning, I found the receipt pronunciation a bit hard to keep in mind. Thank you Vanessa for your incredible energy
I misspronounced "February" because I pronounced it almost the same as Spanish "Febrero", adding that first "r" omg!! So thanks a lot for the lesson. I can't believe I was misspronouncing it all my life 🤦♀️. Love your videos ❤. Best teacher ever ❣
I used to pronounce it " fébruari" because l was mistaught in my english classes at school. Even more, l never heard someone pronouncing this word correctly before.
Thank you teacher 💕 I was confused with "often" of-ten and of-en I always had questions about the differences and now I finally know! This vlog helps me a lot. More videos please☺️🤗
Can you tell me why in some words in usa the letter t is often unused like weight as weigh, right righ ,white house whi house and excitement as exciment .
Both are fine. You'll find that it changes with the location of the speaker. 'Bur-ri' and 'be-ri' are the two ways that you can say this. 'Be-ri' is the most common way, especially when adding an -ed to the end. Most English-speakers should understand you regardless.
First of all, i cannot thank you enough for making this lovely video, i really apretiate what you are doing. I think the difficult words for me was february and jewelry because of my wrongly pronouncation and also i feel like it is difficult to my tounge to pronounce it 👍
Oh my gosh! You have opened my eyes in so many words that I have mispronounced all my life. Thanks for your so helpful videos. I'm looking forward to watching more of all of them.
2:38 Wednesday You highlighted the 'd' in blue, but you probably should also have highlighted the second 'e' as silent too. So that it is pronounced We(d)n(e)sday
Vanessa you're amazing. I was looking over the web for so long for someone like you to teach me the American pronunciation and finally I found you. Thanks to you my Siri can understand me now lol :) I wish I can meet you to tell you how thankful I am.
Great video Vanessa :). I hear 'cloe-thez' SO often. Another really common similar mistake is 'months'. A lot of students pronounce it 'mun-thez'. Your explanation here is really clear and I think it'll help some of my beginner students. Thanks! 👍😁
Thanks to you, finally I learned the correct pronounciation of those words, you're so charismatic. For me the most unexpected pronounce was the word subtle. I have also difficulties with the following words Suite, sword, world, subtitle, schedule among others(the list is long)😊 Please make more videos like this,😘
Hi Vannesa, thanks for your amazing classes, and would you recommend us a dictionary or resource, where we can find the pronuntiation words that you show in this class. Thanks a lot.
For the Receipt, I used to pronounce it as "ri-seet" instead of "ra-seet". And I think both are acceptable since in UK they pronounce it as "ri-seet" similar with Often.

English is my first language - and I lived in various parts of the UK for 35 years - February was always spoken with an 'r' . It was not silent !
it's american english.
@@qvt5935 Isn't it rather arrogant to assume that American English is the only "correct" version? Wouldn't you expect English English to be standard?
@@lanamack1558
No it’s not arrogant. It’s simply the way the language is spoken in US. She never claimed it’s global standard.
Wow I'm an English translator . Speak fluently American English. February got me !!🙂 Thanks♥️

The word that I've pronounced differently is "receipt". I used to say "ri-seet" rather than "ra-seet"
I don't think it matters, I am native English and I say 'ri-seet' a lot!
So do I.
Same exactly i pronounced it ri-seet too
YESS, I did this too.
