    Your recent load of tutorials have been incredible, I like how quick and direct they are. I'm a beginner but these are really useful. If there was a way you could make a tutorial in this format but about more generalized end-products or concepts (rather than making a scene or objects) then I think you'd be one of the biggest channels. As a noob I'm not even sure if that's possible though!!

    • @KevBinge
      @KevBinge  5 лет назад

      Thanks!! To answer your question, shadows in EEVEE are weird but controllable to a degree. There is a shadow setting where the opaque, etc setting is for shaders. I’ll have to do a video on it down the line, but they are available for transparent objects, just different from Cycles. Do mean like a shadow catcher for EEVEE? Thanks!

    • @Wzxxx
      @Wzxxx 5 лет назад

      I spent hourse to figure it why. I think this is because of refraction turned on. It makes a lot of difference. If it is turned on it somehow kills subsurface. I had it turned off before and even small subsurface gives a much more relistic effect. In tutorial it is turned on. On the other i am not sure if in tutorial he turned on subsurface translucency and screen space refraction on in material settings?

    OK, a lot of folks do their DNA, but this one was nice and snappy. .. .. .. have you noticed that no one ever unwinds it.. ? 🤔 ..? I wonder why? 😈

      Thanks!! Good question lol! I’m going to do something more with this soon though, probably another video☣️

      @@KevBinge It's easy enough to unwind the whole thing simultaneously, but to get it to untwist progressively from one end to another... hmm. If you solve that one in a way that isn't wildly complicated, I'd love to see it.

    When I add the Musgrave texture there is no color option, any tips 😂

    • @KevBinge

      They changed musgrave since this video was made. You could use a color ramp if you want now.

      Hi. Connect the Fac output on Mugrave to Fac input on ColorRamp and then the Color output on ColorRamp to Color input on Background. It basically does the same thing (at least visually). :)

    simple deform give it a weird shape not like urs :( idk why!

    • @KevBinge
      @KevBinge  5 лет назад

      That sucks. Make sure to apply all transforms first, and if that doesn’t work, try to change the axis in the simple deformer. Play around and see if it helps. Let me know. Thanks!

      @@KevBinge i applied all transforms , tried to change the axis in the simple deformer, tried to play around with it nothing helps :X , i am using 2.79 maybe that why.

    • @KevBinge
      @KevBinge  5 лет назад

      Ahhhhh, that could be why. Try 2.8 and see if it’s still doing that. It would be interesting to see if it’s in your setup or just a version thing. Thanks!

      @@KevBinge solve it, adding a empty(plain axes), and in simple deform makes the axis origin as the empty(plain axes) solved it :D. srry i annoyed u anyway great tut with the modeling and materials and lighting .

    You're doing it wrong, you're supposed to delete the default cube first then add it back again, rookie mistake, I know.

    That's not DNA molecule, in order to do that, begin by the main structure with only edges and verticies, then add a sphere, and dupliverts , make real, after that, go ahead and resize the spheres so they match the proportions of the atoms in their respective positions, (Mainly : Carbon, Nitrogen, Oxygen, Hydrogen), add material according to each atom type: Black, Yellow, Red, Blue)....try to be precise in the distances between atoms ....
