It's honestly super weird. I've loved EVERY version of Like a Butterfly. Even the leaked version for 8 sounds great. But after playing Gaiden and hearing this banger? THIS is the best version of Like a Butterfly by FAR. Every other version sounds too shaky and soft to go along with Joryu's rapping. Kiryu could take a couple notes from the Joryu fella and pick some more energetic partners.
Yeah, this is indeed objectively the best version of Butterfly, and it's not just recency bias (I even heard Seong Hui's leaked version). Akame aka First Summer Uika knows how to make her vocals sound dirty and rough, which fits the Nu Metal style of this song so much. Additionally, her English pronunciation is very good (she seemingly speaks English, judging from her social media posts). So yeah, this IS the best version. I hope that Akame returns in a future game. Great character and voice actress/singer.
Always loved this song, reminds me of High and Mighty Color and Babymetal 🤘😋🔥 Also having akane and joryu duet feels fitting with the storyline of akame wanting to be a singer, makes her character all the more badass! ❤️🔥
Man Gaiden had so many amazing characters which I want to come back. Like Shisihdo, Nishitani, Akame. The only dude I want to return from Infinite wealth is Yamai.

I didn't play any of the Yakuza games until Yakuza 7 and it was all in English dub. I honestly thought Kasuga's VA sounded awkward because it can be hard to translate songs from Japanese to English and sing them without being cringe. Now hearing it in Japanese with Kiryu's VA...wow. The rap is just as awkward and cringe. This is great!
It’s supposed to be insult or compliment to “Joryu” VA. But understand that Japanese English accents are already hard to understand along with English song lyrics

imo riona’s technique and tone was really gorgeous to listen to, but overall as a rock song akame’s grit and style fits perfectly with the vibe of the song :) those two are my favs for this song, even kirara from yk2 tbh
