- The city of Raqqa symbolises the tragic fate of Syria over the past 12 years. From the start of the uprising against President Bashar al-Assad in 2011, the northern city was a major target for rebel groups. It then became the stronghold of Islamic State group terrorists, who made Raqqa the capital of their self-proclaimed caliphate. The city went through three years of hell - suffering atrocities, public hangings and slave auctions - before being bombed and then liberated in 2017 by an international US-led coalition. Since then, the "Pearl of the Euphrates" has struggled to get back on track.

Raqqa starting to look cleaner than Los Angeles 😄
And people are also nicer in Raqqa than in Los Angeles
😂
@@ruslan-pe3wx🥰
@@ruslan-pe3wx that's nice, now book your flight!
Finally there is peace...
What peace. US is still training ISIS and sending them on terror missions.
@@korencek one reliable source? Or just believe me bro!
Now Syrian refugees in the west should go back and help rebuild!
I hope one day raqqa can be a better big modern city again its sad
The wives of Jihadists blamed for their husbands joined the IS. But they still live in the IS ideology even though the IS was defeated many years ago.
True
Yes, I was hoping for a longer video doc on Raqqua today.
Nice documentary, only quite short.
Great coverage - it's sad to see yet another country destabilized by foreign agents.
It's cool to love everyone as much as you can regardless of religion. Jetem peace to the world.
i feel sorry for poor chidlren
Beautiful city Raqqa
Looked underdeveloped and antiquated, aside from being destroyed.
Humans life has cycle around good and bad time and situation....
Raqqa used to be sunni majority city and now it turned in to kurdish city.
yeah you sure miss isis turkish trade
See what happens after America leaves
Kurds are Sunnis
not at all@@XDKnoori
@@XDKnoori But different ethnic group, so Kurds care more at this point about their ethnic belonging.
How can u blame the Government when it’s u who started the protest sponsored by the West & US🤷♀️🤦🏿♂️. May Syria 🇸🇾 get up on its feet. Ameen
Somebody stolen Syrians 🛢 oil
Naughty IS.
Syria doesn't have that much oil compared to irak/saudi arabia/iran...
@@peabaseit's the usa

can we have a video on the rebuilt of Raqqa city it must be better now ISIS is gone from there lives
Protect Syrian people.
that was awful translation. insanely misleading translation. why are you making it seem like they're putting children to work? that father said he brings his child to work because he can't go to school and can't be left alone at home. they're not putting children to labor; they're bringing them to work to keep an eye on them. the child didn't say "it's more important to work" he said "i don't want to be left home alone, so it's better to come with my dad to work"
Its a western news channel what do you expect 😂
Why would they rebuild the city wall when most housing and infrastructure is still damaged? Not really a priority unless they think it could somehow attract tourists.
Its not a city wall but historical place.
I like how this is all you took out of this video.
@FactStorm It's not. This is mearly the part I don't understand. There is no point in asking a question that I already know. Perhaps your intelligence is insufficiently low to understand that.
LOL butt-hurt much?@@maarten1115
@@maarten1115the city walls are indeed a historical and cultural landmark and are apart of the Baghdad gate. All can be done at the same time. Nothing wrong with wanting to persevere their heritage.
They dont want to better their lives , sad.
liberated in 2017 by an international US-led coalition? Tho that area is Kurdish Controlled, Syria is liberated because of Assad-Russian forces
That looks like « liberation » to you ?
Small boy ram may God bless him pls educate him basic arabic maths etc feel so sad
All the fault of the US, Russia, France, Syrian regime and Kurdish militias who don’t let Sunni Muslims live in peace
Kurds are also Sunnis though.
No it's not . Syria was destroyed due to western backed created terrorist group Isis and Al Nusra front terrorist group .
all the fault of religion
@@ianhomerpura8937 You heard it in this documentary that now there is discrimination between Kurds and Arabs, and both are Sunnis. Ethnicity is at play here.
Raqqa has not yet been liberated, it will be when the Syrian government returns
The Kurds are now allied with Assad.
When people talk about the rule by any Islamic State group, they mean ISLAM as the rule. While some people in Syria and in other countries ruled by ISLAM, I am starting to understand that myself when learning about religions and their roles they play in the last days.
Syrian Government is secular tho??
Sorry to burst your bubble, but non of the muslim majority countries rule by islamic law. Most are secular countries. Saudi Arabia is a monarchy who partially apply Islamic rule.
