The moment I have been waiting for! I am very glad to see a new video from British Columbia! The snow capped mountains as a backdrop made an enjoyable drive. All the nature and forestry as well. Glad to see you back
Awesome drive through metro Vancouver! I've seen this route a few times on RUclips yet it never ceases to impress. You're right that Burnaby has an amazing skyline - I would've assumed it to be Downtown Vancouver lol.
BC is my favorite Canadian province, I am an absolute fool for mountains and forests. Now if only I could see it for real some day! And Vancouver is in a perfect sweet spot with mountain vistas 😊
@@AsphaltPlanet1 no problem! I've been watching some of your other video lately and they are very relaxing, and your added comments make them informative also. There aren't too many channels who do nice, leisurely drivelapses (most are so fast you don't have time to enjoy the sights)
Hometown! Fun take on the footage. I’ve been waiting on a day to film Highway 1 again but I’ve been waiting on some buildings to complete facade construction before hand. I’ll be keeping an eye for you to post on Sea to Sky soon!
Oh, yes. You flew back to Metro Vancouver again back in spring. Also, I love the freeway section of the TCH and you know what, I wish it's wider than this in the future. Lastly, the backbone freeway portion of Metro Vancouver is the busiest highway in the regional district consisting of BC 1 & BC 99.
Great video! The Port Mann Bridge is a phenomenal sight. Very interesting that BC formerly numbered the TCH in Vancouver as the 401. I assume this was inspired by Ontario’s numbering?
I'd have to assume that BC's 400-series highways were inspired by Ontario's system, but I don't know that for a fact. When the divided highways first started opening around Vancouver, the original designations weren't moved from the old roads. So, when the 401 existed in BC, Hwy 1 still followed the old Fraser River Highway through town. Thanks for the comment.
Waw, I can't even describe how happy I am to have you back again Asphalt, it's been far too long since you didn't upload a new video! I missed your driving videos so much! Also, I'm happy to have a BC video after almost 2 years of absence as well! Did you know that there were some serious wildfires in the western Canada recently, as well as a heatwave? In Alberta, the temperature was somewhere around 30c, which is really rare, considering that the temperature at the time is around 15-20c. It was a few weeks after you drove in BC. The next month, it was in Quebec, specifically in Abitibi, Nord-Du-Québec & the Côte-Nord. In the city of Val d'Or, there were only about 3mm of rain the same month, while it normally gets about 90mm. However, the situation is slowly getting a bit better, as rain will help firefighters to extinct the fires. We could feel the smoke from very far away! For example, in Toronto & even New York City! That's quite crazy, tbh. Isn't it? Also, the famous singer Tina Turner died last month after a long illness. Maybe you could make an upcoming video featuring some of her songs. That could be ofc, a really cool idea.
I have certainly noticed the fire smoke from the fires in northern Quebec. I hope they can get them put out at somepoint this year. Not only for the impacted residents, but it would be nice to have some blue sky this summer. Thanks for the comment.
@@AsphaltPlanet1 Also, I forgot to mention this, but if you plan to go to southern USA this year, I'd reccomand you not to go there now, as there is currently a huge heatwave, the felt is estimated to be over 40c & almost 50c for some sectors! A man & his stepson died from thisat Big Bend National Park. I didn't really found the cause of their death, but I believe that it was due to desydratation. Also, happy Canada's day!
City and district limits in Metro Vancouver: 0:17 Surrey, BC; 0:47 Coquitlam; 1:45 Burnaby (seat of the MVRD); 3:24 Vancouver (largest city and financial hub of the province); 4:06 North Vancouver (city and district); 5:57 West Vancouver
Great drive and welcome back! How long does your driver's license valid for and what class? My Tennessee driver's license is valid for 8 years and it is Class D.

Glad you enjoyed it! The snow capped mountains certainly are a nice backdrop aren't they.

I don’t think you can ever really see Downtown Vancouver from Hwy 1. Thanks for the comment
The east of the TCH through North Van is always busy like every hour but love the drive through my town!

Driven this a few times! Beautiful drive along … have family in Victoria so we travel over to mainland for various reasons!

I actually don't have footage of the Sea to Sky Highway. I've driven it a few times to go skiing, but I've never filmed it. Thanks for the comment.
The classic drive!

British Columbia’s highway system is really impressive and is much more spectacular than Ontario’s 400 series.

Do you see a lot of JDM car there? I heard Vancouver is one of the centre of JDM cars in Canada.
Amazing! Never seen a freeway vid from BC before! But alas, yet another province without proper freeway insignia / signage. :(
Vive le Québec!
Best city in Canada by a million miles.
Lived here my whole life and its a rainy, overpriced, crackhead-infested poophole with no culture. I’m trying to leave asap.
Missed Surrey exit two times in a row. 😅😅😅

That video from Japan looked more urban than Toronto’s expressways. Thanks for the comment
Welcome back! Did you film the sea to sky highway yet?
I've actually never filmed the Sea to Sky Highway, though I've driven it a few times.
@@AsphaltPlanet1 You could have gone to Whistler! It's beautiful up there!
It's been 2 months since you uploaded
Not exactly, it's been almost 2 months, actually
This would be great if only your video ran at normal speed and without the music.
