I think what worked best with this was the anticipation of something worse or like a jumpscare, and I'm glad they didn't do that. It would've cheapened it because the bluntness of the whole sequence is honestly much more eerie.
@@kerobopi dunno man, the game is filled with cheap jumpscares from all the dead/darkened people, like those two cops, and also the fucking barbara. It wouldnt be out of place really, its just more strange that Sam Lake decided NOT to put one in here. Probably took a lot of restraint…
It’s nice to hear that Barry is looking after alice after alan disappeared in the dark place it goes to show that he isn’t hanging with alan for money and fame he truly was his best friend and cared for him and alice even tho alice didn’t care about about him and alice saw that and appreciated him now. I hope we get those three to reunite in the future.
Plus Barry didn't like Alice either so he really didn't have to look out for her, especially if he believes that Alan is dead. So him going so far to help her and to keep in touch even after he leaves New York shows what kind of person Barry is, in spite of his personality.
Alice’s suicide was the greatest bit of horror in the entire game, genuinely terrifying as a revelation. It’s the same brand of disturbing you get from the final Koskela ad, with Jakkoa’s silhouette. Mr. Scratch was evil in American Nightmare but he was despicable in this
Christina Cole was sooo good and convincing in the role! I don’t know how she just possessed herself as Alice with so much sadness and raw energy without even voicing in the first game??
The third part left me with an incredibly bad body. Such raw, crude and cold emotion in the silence of the final photos... I- I just don't have words to express it.
Christina Cole is seriously amazing in this game. For anyone who is unaware, she is also Anabella in Final Fantasy XVI, where she delivers another incredible performance. She definitely had one hell of a year in 2023.
Yes. The video we saw of her death was her jumping into the lake (at least I think it was). She helped Saga save Alan with the photos and the clicker and the light bullet. The photo of the hand and the hand holding the clicker was hers. What I want to know is who was helping her stay under the radar in the Dark Place? Did she create her own safe haven (the dark place museum) or is Mr Door secretly helping her.
@@TheBlackKakashi Somewhere during Initiation, Alan talks to Zane on the phone and Zane asks him 'Did Alice get out of the Dark Place?', with the assumption being when you hear it that he's referring to the first game. But with the context of the game's ending, he was very likely referring to the events of the second. I believe her and Zane collaborated on a film, possibly as a mutual agreement to help both Zane and Alan. Alice made her directorial debut with 'The Dark Place' documentary, and most likely worked with Zane to create the scenes we see between Alan and Zane. Hell, I'd go as far as to say she's the 'director' of these scenes. Think back to when Zane gets shot in the head and he wakes up saying 'now THATS drama' to someone off-camera. It was Alice he was talking to.
Christina Cole probably had been Remedy's Choice to play as Alice Wake to replace the Late Brett Madden. For me, Christina Cole feels Fit to play as Alice after all
I know it might not be the case but after ending on her mid credit scene reveal I can’t not hear Follow You Into the Dark and not feel like it was her song. It hit real heavy on the second play through.
She was so damn good! And she's just monologing to the camera. That's gotta be a tough thing cuz so much of acting is reacting and you miss that element with just one actor in the scene. The acting throughout the game is just stellar. Really hoping that Porretta and Ilkka Villi win best performance at TGA.
@@pariahlord3540 Thematically speaking, Alan has gone through the events of the game a lot of times, it's an endless cycle because of how Return ends: Alan gets shot and goes back to the starting point, as does Saga. For what i know Alice should be alive in the oldest house, when she enter in the hose with the last director the dark present lost her location. The oldest house is protective against external entity

It was sooo creepy .-.
Sing with me, sing for the year
Yes I thought something was going to pop out!
I thought they were gonna kill her off that way. It was seriously depressing. I cried.
Easily the scariest part of the game, no doubt. Had my jaw slightly dropped.
Just finished this last night and Alice’s part 3 left me completely chilled it felt like analog horror it was amazing
Considering how into internet horror and scp Sam Lake is, I'd be willing to bet he's pretty into analog horror as well.

I think it's neat how much more of an active role she has in this game when she isn't even there in person. Reminds me of Dr. Darling
Definitely Dr. Darling vibes. I hope both of them will play a more physical role in their respective sequels
