You are definitely correct. Easiest job all time. And the schedule does suck when you start. Usually start nights with terrible days off. Pay in Colorado is great. 35 an hour plus overtime and 10k yearly bonuses. Got 5am shift Sunday Monday for after 3 years. When I started it was hard to get in without experience but now with the driver shortage most companies will give you a chance.

@@KDSTrucking Past trouble from my former life got me in trouble with law in '92. They changed the rules around 2010 and stripped me of my tanker endorsement and no hazmat allowed. Something to do with the patriot act I was told. I'm allowed to deliver general freight .

I was nervous about it being dangerous but it’s not at all as long as you drive safely , yes it can splash on you very rarely if it does it’s your fault lol and diesel is hard to get the smell of your skin vs gas but that’s about it

They are a very large convenience store chain here in the Midwest. offering me $30 an hour training pay for 6 weeks and then 82k to 90 k for a 5 day work week home everyday. $320 to $360 a day based on miles, hourly, performance on gallons pumped etc. the way the pay is configured is a little odd, but I have no reason to believe the money isn’t good. Only downfall is it’s within a 1 hour radius of my home so you are hitting multiple stops daily in different areas.

Got another quick question regarding LTL. Been in the game for about 4 months now, working for a OTR company and I'm finding that the home time to weekly income ratio is really not to my liking. So I'm thinking about maybe getting into the local line haul gig. I have my doubles and triples endorsement already but my question is, is it possible to get into the game as a relatively new driver and also, when you do line haul how often do you have to do backing maneuvers like docking and whatnot? I would imagine not often considering your hauling doubles but I don't really know. Also when you do that kind of work do you pretty much hit up the same routes and locations daily or is it pretty random? Do you touch freight?
I’d say if you don’t have at least a year of experience don’t expect anyone to take you , it’ll be a struggle with less but very doable depending on how desperate they are in your area . Yellow , ABF , SAIA , Southeastern, OD , Estes fedex or the ones I recommend looking into . As far as backing you’ll rarely ever have to back in linehaul. Only when hooking a set or docking 1 or both of your trailers . And being brand new in linehaul you’ll go random places .

Varys by regional manager , some will hire with no experience/ very little and some only hire with 2 years and fuel hauling experience
