    Brick stitch is simply peyote on its side.

      Yes, pretty much. And also peyote is easier.

      They are actually different. Peyote, you stitch thru the bead. Brick stitch, it's more on the thread. They are very different, even though the look of them are even though they look somewhat similar.it would be called peyote if it was peyote stitch.

      Peyote, pronounced pay-oh-tee, is named after it's use in decorating items that are used in native American peyote ceremonies.
      Peyote is a small cactus that has mescaline which is psychoactive.
      It's also known as the gourd stitch which comes from it being used in decorating gourd containers.
      The tribe you're referring to is the Paiute.
