- I was approached by Polyphia to help write & record 6 songs on their upcoming album. These are the original parts I wrote & then recorded. What you hear on the album might have changed due to what Clay Aeschliman felt was right for the song, & he did a great job as always. A massive thank you to Polyphia (Tim, Clay squared & Scott) for having me be a part of this album.
Audio recorded & mixed by Sean Kellett of Perfect Sound Studios. Video shot & edited by Brian Raess.

Thank you to Polyphia for having me. Absolutely love this track. Make sure you subscribe & thumbs up the video!
Thank you for all the inspiration, I love watching you play.
YOUR FUUUUK'N AWESOME BRO, thanks for all the hard work and practice and DRIVE man, you are INSPIRING thanks. GOD BLESS ya and all who ya know
It's so amazing watching the raw performance rather than just listening to the audio. Your drumming is epic Luke 👍 looking forward to hearing more stuff from you and Jason
Why do they have a drummer than?
bang balas dulu bang
the fact Clay was cool with this much collaboration is too cool. moving the egos to the side in order to make some great art.
agreed, the band simply wanted to make the best record & I have tons of respect for that
@@Swagaroni wrong, it’s all about different perspective. no two drummers would write the same parts over the same song
@@LukeHollandDrums HAIII LUKKEEEE I LOVE YOUUUU
@@Swagaroni it takes a lot of humility for one of the best drummers out there to collaborate with a legend like Luke. If the chemistry is there, the creative process can only be enriched. If you say the band doesn’t have faith in Clay, you haven’t listened to or seen Clay on the drums… or how he kept playing without in-ears that one time with the tech tapping his calve to the click. If anything the band is open minded and has a lot of respect for Luke that they would collaborate with him
@@Swagaroni i dont think clay necessarily writes the drum parts himself anyways. I think they are made on a drum program and then he just rewrites whatever sections that would be impossible to play and adds fills. Pretty sure thats how they get that sort of hiphop beat to sound so good because actually sitting down and trying to write a part that intricate and detailed without any tools would be extremely difficult. In fact i bet thats what a lot of bands like polyphia, periphery, and animals as leaders do with there drum parts.
The clapping cymbal stack is so dope. I love hearing Luke's style vibing over a Polyphia track. What an awesome collaborative effort on this album.
I just now realized that clapping sound was a cymbal stack, I just thought it was electronic and added in post, that stack sounds sick!
That stack sounds amazing. I saw another take with three taco-shaped splashes one on top of each other, but this sounds almost the same.
I swear this dude has the best taste in cymbals
Luke's playing in this is absolutely immaculate as always but I just can't get over how little his arms look in that coat 🤣🤣
Now I can't unsee it 😂 😭
I thought I was the only one seeing the T-Rex hands😂
Its the hoodie bro😀
the dude actually shrinked his arms so he could drum faster
i was gonna make the joke of "when you have to borrow dads jacket cause mom said its cold outside"
Luke is killing it on the drums and doing it while wearing a thick ass winter jacket too.
damn that was good!
Never clicked any link faster than this. Polyphia ft. Luke Holland is a mad piece of art
Really cool watching this and Clay's play through back to back to see how each of them uses the kit setup and the sticking patterns differently in order to play essentially the same thing. Definitely shows the talent on both sides
I love seeing you collab with these guys. crazy to see how far you’ve come, I can remember watching your august burn red videos 10 years ago
Love the quick bass drum fills. Frees up the other instruments for a refreshing breather
I love seeing how far you've come. I saw you back about 10 years ago when you were with the word alive. Just cool and inspiring seeing you grow musically
Even then, he was a beast. I remember seeing him in one of the Warped Tours in the early 2010s.
It’s the first I heard of luke and his drumming, ever since he’s just smashed it
This is my new after work jam to come to daily. Im not kidding, probably 7th time today. This is just that good. Thankyou Luke and the boys at Polyphia for everything you do.
Luke always performs with his soul and his visuals is such a plus. Woo hoo, keep it up Luke! ❤🔥
Sickest drummer going by far! Love how you work the cymbals in this true mastery!
So much talent in one room. Masters of the craft.
Every time you pick up the sticks I get chills ! Man you absolutely killed this track there’s not a better way it could have been done!
I love the setup, it's so simple yet fits the intricacy of the music so well. Well done on nailing the intro on this one Luke 😂
Luke man.. been following for years now and once again, Incredible! Well done man.
You can really hear the alchemy of Luke and Clay's styles on the album. Great job, Luke!!
Good lord the amount of people shitting on clay saying he can’t drum in this comment section because Luke here collaborated on half the album is phenomenal. Both are incredible but I just feel like the hate for clay is abit strong right now for no reason.
You are literally one of the all time greatest drummers I’ve ever heard! One thing I love about lot about your playing is how well you use accents and ghost notes throughout the song. Having the ability to space out when you play and when to not through a song is a talent that I really enjoy the most about you and any other drummer. That is what makes everything you play sound so amazing to me and I can’t say enough great things about how you play because there are just so many things! You seriously inspire me to play better.
Best song of the project, Luke you rock so much 😭
I've saved a lot of your drum playthroughs as gym music. they just pump me up for some reason. i wish i was this good at something.
always satisfied everytime watch your drum play. dude, you are the man 🥁
i can't believe my favorite band and my favorite drummer did a collab!!!! truly epic!
My jaw is on the floor i cant believe so many artists came together to make this project
you're a machine who can't be stopped --hell yeah--absolutely love your style, man!
So sick man. My favorite band and favorite drummer.
Crazy to have been following you since doing covers on youtube/getting into The Word Alive, what a journey and congratz on the amazing collabs!
Big fan for a long time, Luke. Blown away by how incredible you continue to be; I'm so happy to see you collab with Polyphia. Shouts from a 'Zona girl.
Fellow but less talented drum boy here...I've been following Mr. Holland for many years. I really have enjoyed seeing and hearing the progressions every time he puts out a new video. This isn't his most technical but more importantly...so. damn. tight. This kind of tight playing just makes me feel good. As always, incredible work Luke.
Love the stacks...amazing drumming as usual!
Got this on repeat 🔄
This song hits so hard. Easily my early fav off the album!
Damn those cymbals sound crispy AF in this video. Credit to the engineer, they sound awesome!
I'm almost 50 and this guy makes me practice to be extraordinary.
so sick! awesome playing!! thanks for the vid!
So glad you collaborated on this album, this is the most incredible drum work I've ever heard.
My God dude, we've come a long way from covering &delinquents and composure! Great stuff Luke! Excited to see future stuff with you and polyphia, Clay must have been in hog heaven with you dude! 😎👍❤️🔥
Respect for being able to play in this coat. It looks like a sumo suit 😂
Fr 😂😂😂
This is perfect from start to finish.
My first exposure to you was the Collab with Henson and Richardson, upside down. So glad y'all put this together, it's so sick!!!!
Love the playing and also love the video, super high-quality stuff.
Oh, do I even have to talk bout the drumming? FREAKING SICK!
Great work as always🎉🎉
Love them quick snare hits
Always Amazing!
No words man this is just perfection
This is my favorite piece from RTYWD and I came here to show my respect because i think you are one of the hottest drummers out there and I have been watching your videos and discovered you in lots of common great places. Thanks for this. Great piece, great drums. My favorite piece of the album.
This an amazing piece of work! I remember listening to the song and it really made me wonder if there was a drum machine in some parts of it with how tight everything was. Completely INSANE.
Sick drumming. Really driving. Very cool.
unreal cymbal work
Luke you always got the best pocket in the drumming game!!!
So crisp and clean!
2 of my fave drummers collabing on an album. No wonder it was so good
So fresh, so CLEAN!!!
One of the best tracks on the album 🔥
Eres un grande Luke!! Te he admirado por años tu técnica y disciplina en la batería es increíble saludos desde Rawson Chubut argentina
loving the camera work ❤️😍
Drumming with a coat on, you're the anti Mario Duplantier of drums !
Great work as always !
Very dope video, of course. The baggy sleeves make it look like you have t-rex arms. I can't unsee it.
Mad respect. I love it 🔥
Ohhhh shitt broooo this is what I was waiting for!
Thanks for posting this!
Super pumped about this
Feels great sounds great! 🤘
Woah. .the best 🤘
So talented 👏 🔥
Ha, you confirmed my suspicion after a few listens of the song. Your style and taste is definitely noticeable in there!
neatly clean! grats brother ✅
Wow! Thanks so much!!
That belt flex is craaazzy!!
Loved it❤🔥
crisp! 👌
the fact you played this in that jacket is insane!!!
Damn dude, that is exceedingly tasty phrasings throughout. Fucking sick track!
This is my favourite song on the album.
awesome luke !!
Masterful performance.
This guy has so much fun playing drums
Huge props to Clay, but man... Polyphia ft Luke it's just perfection!!!
i love that! inspireing
those double stroke rolls are CLEAN holy shit
Sick man
this is one of my favourite things in this world
Damnnnn so good
I've said it before and I'll keep saying, Luke knows how to treat a drum set like an instrument, not just something you smack to make the clappy sounds. It's the difference between a drum set being just a snare, bass, and high hat, and it having the same amount of character as a guitar.
Excellent, absolutely beautiful work.
Matt Garstka though. Monommyth?
This collab is too sweet!! One of my fav tracks on the LP! Good shit you guys!! 🤘🔥
🔥🔥🔥🔥 Freakin sick my guy!!
Как же это красиво 👍🏻🔥🥰♥️♥️♥️
Love this man and your other comments about working with clay and co. One hell of a collaboration with so many insanely talented people involved. Great work. 🙏
the new polyphia stuff is so fire
Fire!!!! 💥💥💥
Sounds good!
Best song on the album hands down
How many stack cymbals you want on your drumset?
Luke: Y E S

Tight AF!!!
Fucking brilliant. Amazing ability to keep time; I'm in awe.
