Great vid bro! I'm sure a ton of people will find this really helpful. Bikes can get expensive and knowing how different more affordable bikes stack up against one another takes a lot of research!
Exactly it's so annoying. My birthday is coming up soon and I want The Giant ATX 3 disc but they aren't in stock and when I find another bike I want it's out of stock too
everyone says that bro. everyone has different opinions but what we need is complete truth and exposure of groups and decisions that would make tom macdonald the most underrated youtuber, even though i personally disagree with this i also believe that he needs to be shared and talked about. I really dont like to watch people say things like that about their favorite youtubers just to get attention cus lets be honest. no matter who we think is the most underrated has nothing to do with who actually is.

Get to it! I just sold my old Mongoose and upgraded to Marin Wildcat Trail 3 last night, can't wait for it's arrival, it will share the garage with my Road and cruiser.
I remember buying a good looking bike at Walmart had it for 2 weeks . I hit a few tiny pot holes in the parking lot and bounced a few times lightly And my breaks started falling apart Bolts and shit flew around

We sell quite a few of the Haro Flightlines. The fork really is the undoing for these bikes when ridden by adults. Mild trails they are ok but they don't last even if you Stay Rowdy Within Reason tm. The frame and wheels hold up fine however. Tourney is Tourney.
I actually found my old Kona Caldera I bought new in 09, it's still in really good shape, some people posted it for sale near me for $180.00, I can update it, prolly 120mm maybe 130mm forks and upgrade it to 1x9, I think it has original XT 9speed, so just have to convert it maybe.
I do not know much about mtb but i am torn between the $650 Giant talon 2 and$500 Schwinn axum. The talon has better parts but no tapperd neck. The Axum has tapered neck a dropper post but worst parts. What most important here as a beginner mtb rider? A vetus nucleus checks every box but $840
Y'all I just need support right now... After having my Framed Twenty6er BMX and putting $700+ into it, I cracked my frame. It's really sad cause that thing was a beast
As far as i can see,you pay mostly in those cases for the name, there are a lot of unknown names for the same price and quality such as CROSS,POLAR,NAKAMURA,etc. All of those for 500 dollars have hidraulic shimano or tektro brakes,8,9 speed cassete, xcm, xct or even if you re lucky XCR ,sometimes at the end of the season even some Suntour air forks. Some have tapered fork frame ,most dont ,but those from the video are under the entry level ,close but still under.
Thanks Adam! I think these budget bikes will continue to get better down the road. The Giant Talon 2 for $650 has the hydraulic brakes and a pretty impressive spec for not much more money!
I just have some basic questions. Why does one choose a 27.5" vs a 29" bike? Is that really the wheel size? Is it about the performance of the bike or more about the size of the rider? And what about Thru-Axels? I guess they're better, but can you still remove the wheels easily for maintenance or to fix a flat quickly? What are the advantages and disadvantages?
Good question Harry. A lot of research (reading articles, reviews, forums, etc...), and testing out bikes in different price ranges. I also engage a lot with other riders to see what components/bikes they like. With components their are different tiers of product (Deore, SLX, XT, then XTR for example), and each tier either offers nicer features, weight reduction, or a combination of all those things. Everyone does want different things, so that's why I say these videos are just a research tool rather than a final decision. I just try to find the best values in a given price range, talk about what makes them good, then let the viewers decide. I appreciate your support!
What do you think of the rockrider st 530 s it has 120 mm up front and in the back hydraulic disc brakes a derailleur with a clutch and 1 times 9 gears for 550 euro’s
How do u buy a bike in online,I like the Marin bolinis ridge 1 but I don’t want to buy it from dealers I want it on online but I can’t do that.Btw the Marin keeps on upping the price before it was 450 know it’s 600.
Hey I recommend the gt aggressor pro I have been using it for 6 months it is a great bike just get a different rear derailleur cause mine tends to break a lot
I actually would try to sway people away from the GT. I have one and it’s not built for anything more than neighborhood streets/sidewalks and occasionally riding through a patch of grass. I’ve had mine about 3 months now and literally everything needs to be replaced. The frame is the only thing good about the bike. Even with that, there are cheaper bikes with better frame design and geometry. Currently mine needs new brakes, bottom bracket, headset, forks, and drivetrain. I’ve already switched out the crankset because the factory 3x chainring bent. I decided to replace it with a shimano 3x chainring/crankset. As of now the bottom bracket creaks and pops, the rear derailleur jumps gears sometimes under load and has snapped a chain, the brakes heat soak super fast on light trails, and the front forks bottom out constantly over bumps no matter the preload setting.
I'd prefer a choice in this price range with a slightly higher spec, slightly larger tires, and a rigid fork to swap for a suspension fork later if one so chose to. Great vid though!
Unfortunately I don't get to. I'm working on getting more bikes in my hands so I can do more in depth reviews on certain models. These videos are based on tons of research and personal experience riding bikes for the past 10+ years.
I wouldn't recommend it for mountain biking, but a nice bike for cruising around the street/gravel. Just gotta assess the type of riding you plan on doing, but for mountain biking, I'd at least get something with disc brakes if you can!
I love haros but it say they out of stock they probably don’t make any more but that bike omg is a beast I’ve owned a lot but I sold all now I can’t get back none
