Great info you have put into this video. I've been looking into this device from Amazon and there only like 3 videos I have found. Thanks from the indepth review. Just ordered mine to do a aboveground irrigation system for my lawn.
Hi i hope all is well and good. 11:33 Can the irrigation duration be set to say 8am on and 8pm off (12 hours on). How many hours does the irrigation duration cycle timer go up to in hours please? Can it be set for 12+ hour irrigation's? Thanks for this video. All the best.
For this timer there is an app (Smart Life) that you use to set the schedule. So you can set it to go on whatever time you want, for the duration that you want. So you could set the schedule to be 7 days a week, on at 8am for 12 hours, and it would shut off at 8pm. Hope this helps.
Good review, but i think that you can use the smartlife app outside from your home, you only have to have 3G-4G connexion. I use the smartlife app for other device and it's working coorectly. (sorry for my poor english)
@Field of Focus mentioned that she entered the password of your router? How do I do that step? I just plugged the hub in the wall, put the batteries in the water timer, went to the App and looks like everything was added automatically. Am I missing something? It’s working when I’m in home but didn’t try it yet away from home.
I guess you have to Add the device (Bluetooth sprinkler) 2 times -- after you add the WiFi Hub. You add the device to SmartLife and then you click on the Sprinkler WiFi Hub and click on add Device there also, (it says associated Bluetooth Device). Then you should be ok to operate it away from home.
I don't know how long the battery lasts yet... it hasn't run out yet.. So hard to say. My hub is placed in the inside of the exterior wall right near where the Timer is. so mine is just a few feet away, through a wall.
For me, when I used it last year, I had to be on the wifi connection to make any changes. It is just warming up where I live, so I will experiment with it some more soon. Thanks for watching.
@@browngarya thanks. Do you find if your phone has no reception you don’t get the notifications or history for the timer if it was supposed to turn on or off ? I also have the one hour difference issue which I cannot fix
@@benshemie9930 I've sent the company a message regarding the time difference but they were no help I do get notifications to my phone when the valve is on or off.
@@browngarya thanks. I am getting the notifications but if I turn my phone off at night then when I turn it on in the morning I don’t get any notifications for watering in that time. Do you have this issue too ?
I do own the Orbit B-Hyve XD 24511 that I bought from Lowes along with the optional WiFi. Does Irrigold has automatic rain delay and rain gauge? I noticed that the Orbit B-Hyve XD 24511 is not as weatherproof as compared to Irrigold. Should I switch, because the HOT SUN did damage the LCD Screen on the Orbit B-Hyve XD 24511.
There is not an automatic rain delay or rain gauge. However every change can be made using the app on your phone. Sorry to hear the sun damaged the LCD screen on the Orbit. This device doesn't have a display, as it uses the app for all adjustments.
Thank you so much for telling me! I made this video June 2021. I was unable to find an updated link for this product. I am so sorry about that. I will update my description to reflect that. Thank you for taken the time to let me know.
Hi. I have not been able to access it away from my home. I get an offline message unless I am connected to my internet at home. So for me, it works great at home but I cannot make any changes from away.
Hook it up through google home app, (you don't need the google home device) then you can use it anywhere! I just picked one up today and figured it out!
I’m looking to control from anywhere in the world to add to my smart home. I just want to water my front lawn when I’m away. For you it seems you need a timer not a wifi capability to water your lawn
Thank you for your review, you sold me on this water timer with Hob
I really like using water timers! It makes watering my garden so much easier!
I appreciate so much your good review!! I’ve just bought one to try it here in my garden.

That is a great idea!
Love your review, as I’m a beginner, helped a lot

@@FieldOfFocus Fantastic. Thank yo for the quick and efficient response. All the best to you and yours.
If you only wanted to manage at home, then you didn't even need such a device, it is more important to manage outside the home
Very true. This video was a sponsored and the company asked me to review it, so I did for them. Thanks for watching.

On the app click on the WiFi bottom, on the next window click on “add devices” and you are done.
How long does the battery last? And how far could the hub be placed?

Can I set the time and use it by connecting only via Bluetooth without internet? Oftentimes, when I go out with my phone, the Bluetooth goes off.

Use Alexa for the mobile use but it looks to me at this time you can't use weather delay
Interesting! I don’t use Alexa, but will try it in the spring!
Can I ask you. Can use the Bluetooth even you not home ?
I can use the Bluetooth only when I am home. It doesn't work for me when I am not home.

How is your irrigold ;--) 😘😜
It worked well, right now it is in storage as we go through winter!

You can use this away from your home. You will need to hook the water value to the wi fi hub.

I can't get the timer on the app to work correctly. It's off by an hour to what my phone is.
Hmmmmm not sure why that would be. Let me dig around a bit and see if I can figure that one out.

I think this device should be able to predict rain and stop watering intelligently.

So far mine is spot on for where I live. Hopefully someone else can chime in and help.
Anyone able to use this away from the house, I can't do anything unless I'm inside the house which makes this pretty much useless when I'm away

I have used just timers in the past (you can see them in my video about soaker hoses). Sometimes it is fun to try a new technology.
She needs to change the bt hub to a wifi hub.
