- Episode 04 of Fish tank chaos by Palmer Aquatics. Todays episode includes talk of new porch renovations, and aquarium updates. We’ve also been having issues with mealy bugs in our houseplants. We’re also working on setting up a 55g aquarium for some Exodon fish.

A Midas Cichlid got into a fight with a other fish and hurt himself. We’re treating the wound with salt. We honestly thought we would loose the fish but we’re aggressively treating with salt and he’s healing. I’m very surprised!
I also have been working on a custom sump for my indoor pond. It has a fairly large bio load and it needed more filtration. I will admit.. I’ve gone down a wormhole building this sump setup.. but it’s all in fun.
We’re getting farther and farther into my dream of having a fish store. We’re having word spread locally and people are just sort of dying to get into the house to buy stuff. I guess that’s a good problem to have but it is getting quickly overwhelming but it’s a good thing.

Your planted aquariums are gorgeous! I can't believe you said that about building things and can't stop! I have that, tables shelves, aquarium filters, afghans, ponchos, shirts, purses, bags, tank stands, more tables. Wow never stops. Now making lower tank stands cause i'm too old to be on ladders!
Your house is coming together the way you want it. I like the plants and the way your setups are coming along. Keep grinding.

I love bucktooths, one of my favorite fish.
I feel you on the costs man. Gave up on my breeding projects when food costs doubled. Jumped in on the solar power recently to hopefully lock in “power” costs with rate increases from the power companies coming over the next few years. Still have some of the wet pets, but gave up on the idea of generating income. Keep chasing the dream man!

You should look into getting solar panels to cut your electrical bill

I just built my first fish tank with river rocks substrate the rocks ranger from 1 to 5 inches and I can’t move them around too much what would be the best way to clean fish waste?

U need to build a big shed 100% insulated and start selling stuff recoup some of your dollars 👌
Why do I need a shed? I have an insulated home
I can't believe those power bills, I pay $50 a month for 8 tanks. look into some insulation eventually, you're losing heat somewhere
You gotta remember we have lots of plant grow lights and over 1,600 WATTS of heater in the pond alone
