  • On a warm May 9th, I found myself in the small northwestern Montana town of Eureka as I have many times to catch the Mission Mountain Railroad in action. Today as with most WAMX 3946 will lead loaded center beam cars laden with Canadian born lumber south to Stryker. There it will interchange with BNSF and bring empty cars back north to the transload facility.
    Train ID: MMT Stryker Turn
Location(s): Eureka, Dahlberg, Fortine, Trego, Stryker
    Date: 5/9/2024
    Camera: Canon EOS 80D
A side note that does not have any effect on anyone except me. Sadly the past Locomotive Engineer (along with bearing many other hats), left MMT recently. Wherever you are out there, you know who you are. I would like to thank you for your kindness and generosity in sharing some of your knowledge with me over the last few years. It was always great to see a friendly face at the controls when railfanning this little railroad. I wish you good luck, and you will be missed being seen by this railfan.
