1. The BMW 3 Series changed to the NBT EVO system from September 2017 until October 2019. Use ID6 interface. The original AUX input menu is deleted, and there is no analog audio input. After replacing the Android big screen, you must input the sound from the USB port.
2. If you want to change this product, pay special attention to the wiring method of the USB transfer part. Otherwise you will not be able to get the sound of Android.
3. At the same time, you must be prepared. After you install the Android screen, the USB port of your armrest box is connected to the Android, and you must use the Android to read it. Cannot read this USB with the original car (because the original car's USB is occupied by Android).

If the original USB input now routes to the Android unit, how would I be able to do map updates for the BMW iDrive navigation system (for example)?
This problem is very good, if you have to use the original car's USB to upgrade, you can only pull out the Android plug, and then restore it after the upgrade.
You shouldn’t put the GPS and the 4G antenna together like that. They interfere with each other. They should be far apart from each other. The GPS in the glovebox and the 4G behind the facia above the air vents or vice versa. They both should be hidden out of sight and not on display on the dashboard like that. 🤔

Does this share the factory USB port in the armrest or do you need to have a separate cable hanging out under the dash?
After transferring the USB interface, the Android sound channel takes up your original USB, and your armrest box USB becomes the Android USB interface.
@@pempcar so can you still use the armrest box USB to charge your phone if thats the case? or no electricity comes out of it anymore
@@vanilla1st The PEMP bmw f30 evo sold now is Version B, and the android sound will take up the armrest USB port. So I suggest you use the PEMP android USB to charge your phone .

this is a good question, if your oem was touch screen, after install, you can not use touch on OEM interface. only use the touch on android interface.

why cant you use the factory gps antenna? having the gps antenna on the dash looks sloppy

@@pempcar yes, thats will do nicely. thats the one thing about aftermarket stuff, they tend to make the car look non factory and sloppy with things hanging out of everywhere. we can lose that g4 box too or place it in a less conspicuous area. thank you

Your car is ID5, it should have AUX jack in the armrest box. You need to change the wiring harness connector and also update the product software. To be compatible with your 2017 340 ID5.
