Käärijä has changed my view of Eurovision. I used to think that musically best performance should win. He is not the best singer and the song is not something I would normally listen to, but it has some kind of energy that makes people go crazy in a good way. You can feel the energy deep inside, and you can't resist it. KÄÄRIJÄ FOR THE WIN!
Käärijä indeed makes you realize that music is not about optimized singing voice or the best fitting genre. It's about music uniting people and bringing them together around the "fire" like it has since the beginning of music itself. Music is primitive, unlike the optimized pitch-perfect performances. It's been more than two hours since the 1st semi final is over and I can't stop listening to it loudly in my room and jumping like a child. I have been listening to it literally 50 times since it was announced it is qualified. This has never happened to me before with any other song in Eurovision.

The thing that separates this song from the rest is that it inherently involves EVERYONE! The song is not the same without a crowd, and the crowd is part of the song. It's a holistic experience, something unlike much of music. Almost everyone can immediately hop in and chant along, enhancing the total experience and bringing out something much, much grander than just the performer singing alone.
Yeah it has the nice aspect of being in finnish and I always prefer it when countries sing in their own language but it also has the cha cha cha which is easy to sing along with even if you don't speak the language.

This is definitely one of the only Eurovision performances I can remember where the backing dancers were this much fun to watch. The energy is incredible.

In I don't even know how many years watching Eurovision, I've never seen the audience as crazy and as vocal for a contestant as they were on Thursday and Saturday. Everyone was screaming your name and Cha Cha Cha. What happened with the jury was a scandal and should be a reason to rethink the system (perhaps 25% from the jury and 75% from the audience?), but no matter what you will always be remembered by Eurovision fans and have won a spot among the most beloved performers in Eurovision. Congratulations, Käärijä, you will always be 2023's winner for me. 12 points from Portugal!

I was there and this doesn’t nearly represent how much the crowd was cheering. This got the biggest crowd reaction of the night by far especially when it was announced Finland had qualified
