  • After all this time, I finally came around to changing my evaporator core in my Mustang. This HAS to be the cause of my failing A/C system due to a leaking evaporator core. The heater core was perfectly fine and looked brand new.

    I got an 02 GT and replaced the condenser, after 3 days the freon bled out somewhere, and I hope my evaporator core is not leaking. That's a lot of work to replace it. I wasn't sure if I needed to remove the dash, but now I know. Will pressure test first and test for leaks 1st. Good video on " How to". Yes you should make some more videos.

    after you disconnected the connector for the dash in the wheel well u did not show how you took the dash out, the video cut to after it was already out thats the hardest part that would have been a great point in this video but still a good video :)

      Lol, only for the third time! I should be getting a new clutch for mine sooner or later. I haven’t been having slipping issues, but I have added a good amount of hp and torque and just feel like it needs a new one soon. 153k miles on the stock clutch (I believe)😅

    Nice video. Changing out my evap core. Was going to open the entire box and didn't think about just cutting out the evap core itself. Thank for the idea. What did you use to seal it?

      Sealed it back together with some gasket maker.. I believe it’s was just black rtv

    Hey question, is it possible to clean the evaporator thoroughly with a hose without removing the dash? If i remove my blower i can look through the duct it blows and see the coil and mine is kinda plugged with dirt thanks to fords filter-less design and it now struggles to cool in the hot sun. Im just wondering if thats an option or not. Thank you

    • @pj_morrison
      @pj_morrison  5 лет назад

      Idk if that method is possible, but it’d probably be easier to just get a friend to help you take the dash out and knock it out in a day. You’d have to make sure that the AC system is completely empty first tho, or when you decompress the lines to the evaporator core Freon will go everywhere

      @@pj_morrison true, i dont plan to replace the evap or remove it, just get ample access to clean it in place, Thanks though i will certainly follow your advice and remove dash when i get a chance

    • @ufartface
      @ufartface 4 года назад

      maybe if you take the blower out you could clean it and let it drain through condensation port out to the ground

    • @icycoolstudios
      @icycoolstudios 4 года назад

      @@ufartface i have considered that, however if im not careful i can see it making a huge mess on my floorpan
