He could both call Mario short, and kill him if he truly wanted to. He's stronger, faster, more durable, smarter, and has better abilities.
At any size bigger than Mario, Bowser can always pull off that joke. Even at his normal size, Mario is still smaller than him.
Wow. Okay... you know what the worst sin any game can commit?
Create an absolutely epic piece of music... and then have it only play in something that you have to ACTIVELY INTENTIONALLY DO POORLY in order to hear all of it.

To be honest, one of the reasons I love this fight is due to the boss theme. So epic.
The final part, although easy, has some of the best Mario music ever.

The music from the second phase is one of the best Nintendo final boss themes ever. Too bad it belongs to the most pathetic final boss in Mario history...

The battles in 64 were at least impressive in their time, Sunshine's final battle was always bad.

If they do make a Super Mario Galaxy 3 I really hope Bowser retains his personality from the Mario and Luigi series, he's honestly too generic in the Super Mario Galaxy Games

He’s actually a serious threat.
I don't know. You see, he is charming in the M&L series, but would that tone fit the Galaxy games, which are considered to be more serious and epic feeling.
The Bowser in these games feels like a threat, something that always reminds you of your impending quest and that makes for some memorable set pieces, especially in the first game.

The 2nd phase in this battle, starting at 4:45 really reminded me of the final bowser battle in Yoshi's Island. Think about it:
1) Bowser is HUGE
2) He's slowly getting closer to you, unless you knock him back with a projectile.
3) A few hits and he's gone.
4) Awesome music
Although I will admit the 2nd phase in the battle was a little disappointing. Such awesome music but the battle was way too easy and way too short.

Well bowsers bigger than the planet, so he has his own gravitational pull, hence why he floats, so idk it depends on if that’s how the devs made it

I revisit this every so often to quench my thirst for a new Galaxy on Switch. Or even a port. Nintendo, please. At least port this game, its arguably the best 3D Mario game you've ever made.

Easiest boss fight in the whole game. I actually found the minor alteration in his first phase to be significantly easier than that of his second fight.

Crazy coming back here, checking out all these comments from almost 10 years ago. Crazy how in Feb 2020 this game came out a Decade ago.
Time flys, doesn’t stop. Just gives me a reminder how life is moving fast.
Loved the days of waking up in the morning to play games all Saturday and Sunday. Now it’s just waking up late from partying the days before. Life is good, and I’m thankful of the memories I had as a kid with Nintendo, Pokemon and etc.
I just hope the current and future generation have equally great memories of those too.
I will never be a kid again, but I will always be one at heart ❤️

this final boss fight isnt NEARLY as good as the final boss in the first mario galaxy. everything about this fight just feels less...the scale, the way you beat him, and the music dosent really get awesome until the very final part.....a huge dissapointment
UBERGEEKZILLA The problem with the final battle of the first galaxy game was how easy it was. Sure, it was built up to it and it was epic, but it ended really quickly.
This however, has a much more small scale but it's also harder, with the exception of the last section. I also do think the music is epic.
I still prefer the first one, but i don't think it's a huge drop in quality, especially because level this battle takes place in is fantastic, on par, an even sometimes better, than the last level in Galaxy.

The first being better doesnt mean the second is bad
honestly i was disappointed about the final boss, cuz unlike SMG1, i only died once from him. Also at the second phase, he barely throws anything on you other than just a fist every now and then.
Even though the last part of the final battle was really, but REALLY easy, it's one of the most epic final battles yet. The music...
But, MGS4 final battle will always be memorable.
imo this fight doesn't get the credit it deserves, especially the last phase, even though it is admittedly pretty short if you know what you're doing - it's basically an interactive cutscene (which explains the comparatively short duration) and the overall atmosphere is amazing; you're fighting Bowser by smashing meteors against him, but this time inside a *BLACK HOLE*, and the music is even greater somehow!
I may be an oddball here but, at least imo, that boss fight is amazing.

Lol for sure you enter a huge castle and expect a difficult boss to fight, but he's easier than his first 2 encounters hahaha. Although in my opinion the set up was pretty cool

Bowser is really the ultimate baddie. He's a dragon, evil king and warlock all rolled in one. He is also wrapped in a strenuous romantic triangle with the hero and the girl, which adds some complexity into what he does.

It means it reveals things that might cause you to know things before getting there yourself.
For example, if you see this video and get to that boss later, you already know what to do and how to beat him.

What I want to know is why don't these characters talk anymore, I mean they had them talk in Super Mario Sunshine, now a days it's all sound effects & text bubbles so why don't they talk in any more new games?

clear, as is only climb a building and hit a giant block, no battle, and as Bowser is a cute cat, did not know what the final boss of Super Mario 3D World was Zucaritas character xD and music is a little bit short not you think?

@ToaCehk no, this battle is more than enough, considering you have to do it twice per game. You do it first when you encounter it to advance and you do it after 120 stars (to see the alternate ending). I did it again at 242 stars to see if there is another alternate ending.

@JJWalrusBoy Actually, the plot is. Someone gets nabbed, Mario goes to save him/her. The only difference is what happens after he saves that somebody. I very much like Mario games, but I'm not blind. I do say though, it's the gameplay that's very enthralling. That's where Mario keeps getting the points. That's what Mario does best and that's what his games should keep doing. Oh yeah, music too. It's awesome. :)

What I like about this is that is show's how much higher Bowser's set his sights from the old games.
Forget the Mushroom Kingdom; now he's aiming for universal domination. And, well, I respect that ambition... (Even though he fails time and time again.)

@Victini415 He got out of there because it created a big bang and all life started all over again. On this game Rosalina seemed to remember Mario and the others. Even though they didn't remember Rosalina she was able to because she witnessed the miracle of life.

Bowser's first part in the final battle was pretty hard, the second part really wasnt, but you can tell it was purposely to be HOLY SHIT THATS EPIC AS HELL!

To add on that by saying the Hardware inside a Wii was simply a moderately modified Gamecube hardware
