I feel like trying to improve "Connor wears cheap cosplays" is like trying to improve kitchen nightmares. It's perfectly formulaic as is lol.

Make a competition with friends. 3 dress up. 2 judges. Judges pick a winner of the round. Winner at the end gets... uh... SOMETHING. Set price limitations and rules. If two folks cosplay the same character, the third gets the point. And then eventually, do a discord cosplay competition, where you judge fans, and then you give the winner of that a prize. IDK! Good video!!

Turn this series into a competition. You and a guest are given a list of the same 10 characters and a budget of $1000, you both order cosplays separately and can prioritize more of the budget to different characters. You're then judged as the same character simultaneously. Whoever gets the most points wins. Sudden death tie could be determined by a diy cosplay made from your entire collection.

Honestly the worse the costumes are (low budget) I find the more hilarious the outcome. Cosplaying your friends' bargain bin wifus and husbandos made the sadist in me smile. You don't have to do bigger or better, we love you Connor for your positive and bright chaotic attitude.

Even tho it’s not perfect, I always enjoyed watching you put your humor into all the character impressions u did while wearing the cosplay. Perhaps you could do the cosplay videos in a similar format as your crane game videos - like a competition. So how it would look like is you’d still have judges and u’d be going against any willing participants you’d be equally down to put on cheap cosplays, and maybe add a bit of voice acting spice into it and really tap into the character acting part. At the end u can ask who the viewers thought should have won. Hope this helps!

To take this series further, I think a cosplay competition could be fun, where you get multiple people all with the same outfit and accessories, and see who can pull it off the best with a set amount of setup time. It would also be cool to see you creating a cosplay from scratch, but that also seems super time consuming.

The series finale should be getting all the previous judges to pick the cosplays. Then they're all sitting there just trying to figure out who picked the best cosplay for you.

Honestly, while it may not be a “funny” concept, I think it would be cool to see you pick out a handful or less of characters you really like and try to find “budget” ones (so maybe ($100-$200 a costume.) Get all the pieces, maybe have Kaho come over so she can help you with the wigs, and see how it goes. Similar to the video you did with the fully custom one, just cheaper.
two ideas to help this series:
1) have your friends pick out the cosplays/they give you a character archetype to cosplay as
2) make it a challenge- everyone has a budget and free range of walmart, target, party city, other stores, and you have a week or so to make a budget cosplay. there could be challenges and consequences if they lose

Here’s my idea: recrute the cosplay that actually fits you and aren’t broken, bring your wigs to a cosplayers friend that can style them, find someone for makeup and redo your cheap cosplays but actually good. No need to be super professional like the darling in the franxx one. Just the bare minimum and blow us away

Edit: To answer your question on what to do next with this series, themed episodes with special guests could be something. For example, Melody has mentioned she wants to see you cosplay as all the Vshojo girls. You could cosplay as some or all of them and then have the girls judge your cosplay.

Can't end the many years of this series without a grand finale. My suggestion is find 5 cosplay creators. There are some great ones on Instagram that works out of japan. And have them make 5 inappropriate cosplays figure fitted to you. Then get a panel of the previous judges to come on and judge every outfit.(Over zoom or discord maybe) Then maybe you can send a price to the best cosplay creator or something. Love this series but we need it to go out with a bang! Good work

As a long time viewer, I like this series since you would try any and all cosplay no matter how bad or definitly-not-made-for-you kind of cosplay. And the ocasional good cosplay is always a nice surprise. Also seeing other people react makes this series very intresting.
My favorite cosplay here was Evanito's Minecraft, lol. In seriousness Chuuya and Dimitrescu were great. (If this is the last cosplay video buff Miku will always be my favorite. lol)

The Chuuya cosplay had me laughing for a good 5 minutes! Kinda sad that Emily and Daidus didn’t know who he was though..
I don’t know how to feel about one of my favorite characters finally getting cosplayed by Connor, but it was a bit of a beauty to witness when he dressed as Chuuya
As an alternative idea, you could cosplay a character on a budget via thrifting as others have suggested or go all out with costume and makeup and put high effort acting into a character and spend some portion of your day being that character. What you do is up to you obviously but in the very least you get voice acting if you're capable of producing the characters voice, cosplay if you enjoy doing it, and could involve the community by having votes for characters. That could be characters from a pre-determined selection or from a conglomerate vote. You could also take some time out of a stream to make an elimination bracket and have the chat or community vote in 1v1 "battles" (marbles or whatever format you choose like a poll or something) until you get to the last pick. All of that is to speak for the difficult route but open opportunities for other things. How you go about achieving your desired outcome is up to you, should you decide to continue these video ideas that is.
TLDR: Effort cosplays or budget cosplays with your own premises or stakes.
Thrifting competition could be fun! They choose one character everyone will cosplay that day. They thrift for all the pieces and then are given a certain amount of time (let's say 1h) to alter the clothes using cisors/hot glue/posca pen and get dressed for the reveal.

I literally yelled "YES, another cheap cosplay video!", when I saw the notification, so I would indeed be sad if this was the last episode. I think these are always hilarious, just as they are, but I understand that you feel like it's getting repetitive and you want to change it up.

I know the cosplay videos aren't meant to be serious, but I wish Connor would keep aside some wigs and props so that he can make the costumes look more complete. Putting a bit more effort into presentation (including poses) would make the end result funnier.
But it'll be hard to find another person just as confident as Connor to pull it off.

The budget cosplay vid formats are simple and fun. Added with Evan's editing and interjections here and there makes the videos, as simple (in format) as it is, incredibly enjoyable. Idk how would you improve on these videos, but I'm definitely will be waiting for the next one!

As someone who has been lurking since the Black Butler days, I'm so happy to see the content getting better and better. In my opinion, you shouldn't drag out the cosplay series if you don't feel like it though. Like you said, there is only so much you can do with it.

Suggestion: Do a cosplay version of the Trashtaste Figure Special, where you compete against someone (perhaps Garnt or Joey, or both, or someone else keen). Each person gets a budget (say $1000) to buy their cosplay outfits and each person has individual challenges (drawn randomly) that, for example, require them to find a cosplay from certain animes/franchises. There can also be overall challenges, like least spent on a single outfit, most spent on a single outfit, total spent closest to $1000, etc. Afterwards, the players cosplay and get points if they've completed their challenges. The cosplayer that scores the most points overall wins.
Loser has to wear the cosplay chosen by the winner for their next two videos/streams (if they're a content creator with cam).
I agree with everyone else. You really don't need to constantly make "better" content. Keep doing what you like to do. If you, yourself, are tired of the cosplay videos, just don't do them, but if that reason is because you don't think you can make them "better," then maybe you should sit down and make a list of pros and cons, and use that to decide if you should keep doing them. But your audience loves these videos and we think you should keep doing them.
The next step in evolution is MAKING the cosplay on a budget...like, you thrift or something with X amount of money and try to make it work with what you have - the myriad of other cosplays, the wigs, the props, EVERYTHING is up for grabs in turning the crap cosplays into a maybe slightly better cosplay!

the misa and lady dimitrescu were so good! and i’d hate for this series to end, i love it. i think having custom made cosplay of characters you really like would be great, or you could do as a lot of other people said and make it a competition with another guest who finds different cosplay or even cosplay of the same character? hope you continue your cosplay adventures!!

connor you dont need to escalate the series every time, i just love watching you wear bad cosplays and sometimes thats enough, like you doing the impressions, critiquing the cosplay are all amusing and i have watched every single one of them LOL
A lot of youtubers lately are missing the point, to be entertaining you dont always need to "up the game" this video is hilarious as it's, i wouldn't change a thing, dont need to change the setting/scenario or the idea, just keep changing the cosplays for obvious reasons and the "judges" for different reactions and interactions, ofc people will ask for "the boys" to be future judges, have fun, hugs from portugal!
I think the point of changing your stuff up or improving it is that if it is too repetitiv, it will get boring. He did do the same format for a while and the jokes, while funny in principle, are always the same. If they come out rarely like now, it's still funny to watch, but I get it how it can get too much of the same thing at one point.
He could still change many things tho, I think he can keep going with similar videos :)

The fun part of this video is you seeing an adult trying cheap cosplays in his office while 2 friends wait in his living room, if you insert a big budget you going to lose that casual feelling that made this videos good. @@ruiguia oh, well yeah, I guess if you put it in a purely "monetary" way, it really isn't that important to "up the game". I can see how people wanna make better quality stuff, but yeah with yt and the content starting out with "normal people in their homes", it is a balance between being casual and being high quality. On the other hand it's kind of a natural progression to wanna see the same things but now bigger and better. But yes, I can see how some content could lose it's charm by getting more professional. Idk if that's what connor was talking about tho, I think he was just worried about the repetetiveness. Making it higher budget could be one way to change it up but probably doesn't fit the series, yeah.
He kinda did that with this professional cosplay thing with kaho but that's it's own thing and not a replacement of this so it's fine
Hey connor I love this series, so I'm happy to try and help. Here are some of my ideas for this series:
- Costume battles with other people (like, who bought the best costume, who wears it the best, and who looks the most like the person). You can also do a lot of different themes and battles, like price points, specific anime series, etc etc
- Costume switching, kind of like the previous idea but you prepare the cosplay for the other person!
- Wearing Cosplays in public, like in fun places then doing something there. Something like wearing a ghost outfit in an abandoned factor, and then playing hide and seek. Or wearing a kimono and trying out Nichibu dancing (it's a bit of combo of other stuff you already do).
Hey Connor you don't need to make this better, your commentary on every cosplay and the reaction of your friends it's already great.
Maybe if you want add something you can ask the judges for an specific cosplay so that have a reason to be disappointed jajaja

I think this series is fine the way it is, though if you'd insist on wanting to improve it, a bit of roleplay when you reveal the costume to your friends may be enough!

I don't think perfection can be improved, Connor. This series is so funny as is and trying to figure out the character as you're getting dressed is a fun little game. Evan's editing is always on point too.
This series is really fun to watch, it'd be sad if it ended. Maybe getting less cosplays could be a way to invest in higher quality ones. Like, three per video. It'd also result in shorter videos, so it'd be less time consuming. You could also get your friends to cosplay and you'd be the judge for a change. Even a cosplay competition maybe? Who knows
Honestly, doing a VS style Cosplay might be good. Buy the same cursed cosplays and bring in a guest to try and compete to see who pulls off the bad cosplay the best.
For Emily and Daidus this is essentially the same as guessing Connor's drawings but in real life

As a person really enjoying these cosplay videos, I really don't want to see this series end. I feel you can probably add some game aspects into this series since you are already constantly having guests. Maybe before you come out of your room, you can give them a few keywords and let them guess the character. In the end, the one with the lowest score can do a little performance with you to recreate a memorable scene from the show/game as a penalty. This show can be related to any cosplay you have on that day, and maybe the winner gets to choose the show/scene...? Hopefully this helps!
