Rape is any act of sexual intercourse that is forced upon a person.
If you or anyone you know has been through a rape or sexual assault of any kind, either recently or long ago, I want to assure you that there is help and there is hope.
RAINN provides support for sexual assault victims and their loved ones through two hotlines, the phone hotline at 1.800.656.HOPE and an online messaging hotline that can be accessed through rainn.org

Childhelp.org is a similar organization that is dedicated to supporting the rights of children and providing them with the extra help that children need when they have to deal with abuse, neglect or being put at risk.

I was continuously sexually abused in my own school when I was 12 years old. I told my mum and teachers about it, and nothing happened. The police weren't even involved in the sexual abuse of a 12-year-old girl. I'm not a victim of rape, but I urge all victims of sexual abuse, sexual harassment and sexual assault to tell somebody, anybody, and don't let a rapist walk free and commit again.

massive thanks for posting this, I have so many friends that got raped, oen girl even got bulemic and almsot died cause she thought it was her fault. Unfortunately alot of the reports are fakes often, or judges claim it's your own fault if you had a drink that night. In the UK just about 5% even make it to the tribunal which is horrendous!
I live in Texas and I know about 10 people who have gotten raped

I was sexually assaulted almost three years ago. She's right, the healing process does NOT happen over night. If you do not get the right help it will haunt you and sometimes, EVEN IF YOU DO get the right help it STILL haunts you. It still eats at you, but you can still heal. It's still there in my mind. I didn't know the guy, didn't know his name, there was nothing for me to report. It's a scary situation...and honestly my dad is a cop and I still didn't know how to handle it.

You have to remember though, rapists are victims too. No normal person just decides to rape someone, there is always some history of abuse or mental illness.
There is nothing sane about rape, these people are broken and are spreading their misery.

why would people go to locogirl for help, go to a clinical psych or psychiatrist. honestly go seek out some vigilanties and they will sought the problem out in an illogical way. that most if not all rape victims crave

I don't think those numbers add up. 1 in 6 women get raped = 16.6% + 60% you say are unreported = 76.6% so you're saying 76.6% of women get raped?
Plus if they aren't reported how do they know how many are unreported?

When i was young i was raped for years by the man that lived next door he had a wife and 2 kids. When i made the choice to tell my parents [3 years later] when i was 13 they did nothing. After that i didnt bother telling them about the 2 other people and my brother it was pointless. Now 23 soon and its a clear fact i cant be physical loved at all. I stopped dating in 2008 couldnt be near a men with a 10 foot pole.

I am only 13 years old and figured out a few days ago that people a lot older than I am know little about what happens in the mind of a rape victim or what they have to indure after the assult has happened. or they are just too ignorant to want to find out. Thank you so much. This video helped me very much.
