Tweek had 2 spots in game 3 where he tried to do an airdodge-cancel item toss downwards to win the game, but didn't quite pull it off. This set could have gone very differently had that happened. 12:20 and 12:38, for reference. You can see that he airdodges after hitting Riddles with banana but doesn't manage to catch the banana since it is too high. This seems like it would be a setup that Tweek has labbed out, since he went for it twice, but I'm not sure why it didn't work here. Maybe the airdodge was too late.
There was some Kazuya bs but there were a lot of hard callouts by Riddles as well. Pretty disingenuous to ignore Tweek constantly being punished for all his bad monkey flips or for messing up his edgeguards. You can even see Tweek save Riddles game 1 after he was already dead from the spike and it ended up costing him the game.
Whiff punishment is Kazuyas forte in Tekken and smash, you can't do lazy flips and stuff against him or he will punish you heavily like he is designed to do, the owness is on Kazuyas opponent to approach him with care, Diddy is Diddy but he has a whole kit designed around his banana peel which you can use against a slow guy like Kazuya very effectively, if the Diddy does not it's not Kazuyas fault.
Him saying he doesn't care about being "the best" anymore has actually helped him a lot with stress issues and what not. It's all about being good, not about comparing yourself to others: learn from them, yes, but don't try to determine your personal value (both as a player and as a person) based on how they are performing.

Some characters need you to completely dominate the majority of the 7:00 minute 3 stock match to win while other characters can take stocks in 10 seconds if you slip up and give them the opportunity to do a reversal. Kazuya and Terry have that explosive X factor. I'm reminded of Muteace's video on "how good a character is at taking stocks" which is a separate discussion from how good a character is (in relation to being put on a tier list). You can have a bad matchup, but that doesn't describe how much effort and precision are needed to maintain a lead in a favorable matchup. Now that I've written the above, Perhaps, maaaaaaybe I see Spargo's point where he talks about the Cloud/Steve matchup being "slightly" in Cloud's favor as opposed to dominantly despite him dominating Acola. One of his arguments is that Steve can reversal you for the win if you're not careful.
