  • Using ELRS with EdgeTX for the first time might be confusing especially from a car transmitter user's perspective.
    Also, it baffled me that despite the hype about it being low latency, it's really slow out of the box. Then I found out why.
    Hope this video helps newcomers who transition from a surface transmitter to this air transmitter operating system and module.
    Also, latency test! Yay!

      I’ve been loving your videos! I’ve been trying to find a good brushed motor upgrade for the 284161 so I don’t have to upgrade the esc and then radio. If I do upgrade the radio, I’m going to follow this video.
      Thanks for these videos!

      @@Mossman04 Take a look at PN Racing. You will need a motor that has mounting holes at the front. PN seems to be the only one who makes brush motors with mounting holes.

      I'd like to try it as well but I have no plan to buy another transmitter in the near future.
      From the spec it should be a few ms faster than this but I don't know if it'll show up on my camera because of that 4ms window for each frame.

    Thanks for video. I have a question why did you change also non servo channels to 333hz. Is it ok to do it for Hobbywing 1060 brushed ESC? Spec sheet says it has 1kHz PWM frequency. Can this setting damage ESC? Thanks a lot.

    • @BeaversHobby
      @BeaversHobby  4 месяца назад +1

      Hello. I change all the channels to standard digital output frequency to make them a bit faster. If your component has 1kHz then 333Hz will not damage it. Lower frequency than the component is safe to use. In this case you can also set the ESC channel to 1kHz to utilize the full range of data/resolution/speed. Anyway, I keep using 333 just to be safe.

    Hey Beaver do you know if the MT 12 will bind to a kyosho Mini Z I am doing a lot of mini z racing this year and really like the mt 12 i know it will bind to my Radiolink receivers but would be nice to know if i buy one it will also work with my mini z’s

      Yes, it will. Choose the 4-in-1 Multiprotocol version and it'll be like the TX16S I did but pistol instead of sticks.
      Another way if you will also use ELRS is get the ELRS (like I have here) then get a 4-in-1 module. That'll work too.

      It's a know issue with the SBUS components on PWM ELRS receivers.
      Tx/Rx pins will blast out the signal at startup so the component will glitch out.
      Which pin do you use? I believe the Tx/Rx are on 2 and 3.
      Try and change the servo to use other pins. Either change the channel or map it to other pin other than 2 and 3. If you use the 3 channel receiver then... oops there's nowhere else to go.
      I also mentioned this issue in my review. ruclips.net/video/ZoMTnpdOhSI/видео.htmlsi=LnF6Lg-SQOfFT9x2&t=1011

      @@BeaversHobby thanks mate works on channel 4, any down side to using ch4? Thank you, also I was playing around and I removed the esc servo lead from channel 1 and the motor kicked into go for 1/2 a sec lucky I had the pinion disengaged or would have sent car crazy across the bench into my computer, tried it again and same thing, not sure why, esc is Nitride Elcerem, I won’t be doing that while motor is ready but it could happen if I forget later down the track

    • @BeaversHobby
      @BeaversHobby  4 месяца назад

      @@BigWillieFPV Don't worry. There's no downside for CH4. Channel 1-4 and 6-9 got full resolution anyway.
      So you don't have anything on CH1 and only ESC on CH2 then it got initiated with full throttle at startup? That's a bit strange but the signal blast problem might have caused it too. Anyway, using 5 CH receiver is pretty much preferable so we can move anything out of Tx/Rx and have 3 CH receiver in the end. Just assign another channel than CH5/AUX1 to the pin 5 and you'll be OK.
