No, the car model details are the same during gameplay and photomode, the difference between this modes is Ray Tracing shadows, reflections and better AA.
@@TheStalkerEnd Im sorry but you are mistaken. Cars in photomode also have much higher polycount (geometry). You can see it easily by looking for example at interior modelling from outside camera. In photomode its fully modeled while in gameplay its simplified. Cars are often less round. Its simply lower LOD model
@@JayYang0327 OP is getting it backward. GT7 uses one model for player cars on course, whether during gameplay or replays and photomode. On console, FM has typically used a lower poly model during gameplay and a higher poly car model for photomode. In actuality (assuming this is the PC version of FM23 using "Extreme" car model details) the AI cars are always using a lower poly asset compared to what the player is driving during gameplay. In GT7 that kind of swap never happens. Since GT5 (PS3) LoD 0 uses tessellation to help improve car model detail, but the camera has to be close to use LoD 0 as these assets are very resource intensive. During gameplay the camera is close enough to use LoD 0 for the player car and a few other opponents that are very close. In GT7's photomode only (not replays or gameplay), the game uses LoD 0 for almost all cars much farther away than normal which is why FPS drops below 60 without RT and below 30 with RT in photomode which you can see in this video as the front bumpers are compared and GT7 is struggling with poor FPS. The reason is because all the cars despite being obscured by the car closest to the camera are being rendered at full resolution. In the other comparison shots where the other cars are off screen the rendering load is much lighter, 30FPS is maintained in photomode with RT in GT7. You can move the camera so far from vehicles in GT7 that their wheels disappear in photomode (they are much to small to notice during gameplay and of course if you take a photo these assets are restored so the image looks correct even though they take up just a handful of pixels). FM23 only loads in the player's car model at maximum quality when in photomode (or during gameplag on PC using max settings). On PC using the Ultra or Extreme car quality setting ensures there is minimal to no difference between the in-game and photomode car asset, but that only applies to the player's car. All other opponent cars maximum quality level will still be significantly less than the player cars quality level. On Xbox Series consoles, FM23 likely swaps out the player's high resolution car for an even higher resolution model when photomode is engaged.
