This couldn't be repeated even if it was practiced for thousands of years, let alone by accident like this. He just keeps running in a straight line, which is usually suicide, his team mates are dying around him, all chaos has broken loose, vehicles are gunning for him and missing my millimetres, but he just keeps on running straight without looking or anything just kept his legs moving and his eyes on the prize hahaha

I come back to this video all the time especially for all the well wishes for Martin. Thanks for keeping his memory strong! He's still finishing the fight!

I've watched this video countless times throughout the years. Every time I watch this, the nostalgia builds up in my body greater and greater. Wow, I can't believe I was actually in this game! I was the one driving the mongoose, hilariously trying to run over the flag carrier. That moment is so vivid in my memory - right after I got taken out, I saw our whole team charging in with vehicles. I distinctly remember thinking to myself, 'We've got this, we're definitely getting our flag back.' The whole time, I was just baffled, wondering how on earth we didn't manage to retrieve our flag. And ever since rediscovering this video, I really enjoy this video for both laughs and fun it was watching this unfold. Thank you Van Zeph for uploading this piece of childhood flashback, a memory that Martin will be proud of.
Pause @2:42 when he opens the scoreboard. All 8 players on red team are playing on 3 TVs, and half of blue team is playing splitscreen. This is what halo used to be all about. My mind was blown when halo 5 released without splitscreen. Had they simply included that I would have got an xbone as soon as it released. Gaming is so much less social nowadays. Halo n chill used to be a goto in high school to get under a blanket on the couch with a girl. In freshman year of HS only one of my friends had an xbox 360 so I used to bike 8 miles each way so we could splitscreen halo for hours on end. I'm only 24 but watching this makes me feel old af.

This video is insanely special I've been watching it for years. Can we please acknowledge the amazing cinematography in this replay? This shot at 1:59 is terrifying, The chopper seems like a Predator ready to pounce on its prey. My heart stops every time I see this part, even though I know what's going to happen next. 2:08 I absolutely love this shot, with the music as the camera pans around, the Chopper hits the handbrakes and does a sharp turn swerving back so fiercely, and again finding itself only inches away from running over our hero. Barley making it out in the nick of time, he leaps his way to the finish. Utterly beautiful. Truly, a time capsule to Halo fans.
Spartan N99 deserves just as much credit he ran beside him the whole way and held it down without him we wouldnt have this epic video. (he kills the bike driver at last second)

Felt the old nostalgia for the Halo 3 days again, so I came here. This video is a monument to the friends and good times that we all found in those simpler times. Godspeed Spartans, I'll see you all starside.
Anybody else miss the old halo :( compared to halo 5 this is so much better already. I already sold my xbox one but when I watch these old halo videos it makes me want Xbox again but it's not the same anymore halo 5 is nothing like the original halos like these why did bungee leave :( well it was fun while it lasted. Thank you halo community for making me have such a fun gaming childhood back then :)
Trust me, you don't want Bungie to come back to halo, haven't you seen their complete fail with destiny? I don't think bungie will do any better than 343 :/
Halo 6 might be a good one, they learned to make an at least way better multiplayer, and now I think we're going to have a warthog run at the end because of the rings are firing again
And let us never forget those who journeyed into the howling dark, and did not return. For their decision required courage beyond measure. Sacrifice, an unshakeable conviction that their fight... *our* fight... was elsewhere. As we start to rebuild, this hillside will remain barren, a memorial to heroes fallen. They enobled all of us, and they shall not be forgotten.”
Every so often I have to come back to this video and appreciate it. I can just imagine the laughing and yelling as you and your friend were playing this match! Rest in peace to the Legend, himself

RIP king, you may be gone but this flag run will live on in your legacy
Almost 12 years old. Never forget halo 3
Let this man forever be enshrined in glory. This video was what first inspired me to play Halo 3 for the first time ever. Let this video never be removed; it has a special place in not just my heart, but all of ours. I feel as if the sheer teamwork, dedication, and luck has brought the community closer together. Rest in peace Martin, you ennobled all of us, and shall not be forgotten :')
The fact that this is super long time ago, this was a historical post that’s always featured In most media features. I want to draw this moment into a canvas but I’m going to figure out how
holy fuck. Martin, the man, the myth, the legend. RIP you beautiful flag runner
The lobby must’ve went crazy that day
Continues to be a shining example of true comradeship, reminiscent of Saving Private Ryan.
RIP
That was the greatest flag run I have ever seen, beautiful, remarkable, magnificent.
May this legend continue resting in peace, 13 years later.
Even people who don't know halo 3 can recognize that this is the best capture flag run in video game history
Looking back on my old "Favorites" RUclips video list. This is amazing! I remember showing this to all of my friends.
The amount of team work! Wish people still used it like shown here!
Felt the old nostalgia for the Halo 3 days again, so I came here. This video is a monument to the friends and good times that we all found in those simpler times. Godspeed Spartans, I'll see you all starside.
And I'm back, and this video is as crisp and nostalgic as always
Some say he was a noob, but we all know he died a legend 😢
I remember seeing this video long ago, brings back so many memories. Makes me wanna go back to when I was a kid again.
It’s 2020 and still showing my respect!!! This brings back so many high school memories for me.
I don't think bungie will do any better than 343 :/
It's called Activision
omg i havnt thought about that xD
but bungie did make destiny with activision
Halo 6 might be a good one, they learned to make an at least way better multiplayer, and now I think we're going to have a warthog run at the end because of the rings are firing again
And let us never forget those who journeyed into the howling dark, and did not return. For their decision required courage beyond measure. Sacrifice, an unshakeable conviction that their fight... *our* fight... was elsewhere. As we start to rebuild, this hillside will remain barren, a memorial to heroes fallen. They enobled all of us, and they shall not be forgotten.”
some say that the man carrying this flag is the one true master chief
Every so often I have to come back to this video and appreciate it. I can just imagine the laughing and yelling as you and your friend were playing this match! Rest in peace to the Legend, himself
Watching in 2021.
RIP Martin.
I just found this video a few days back. You guys must have a heck of blast playing together. I would imagine you guys were laughing your butts off on that entire run. I envy such a experience.
Anyway I am here to pay my respects to Flag Runner Martin. OORAH!
Came back to this video after playing halo 5..Rip flagrunner
Same!
It has now been 15 years guys
This video comes to mind every time I hear the Mjolnir mix and it is the most Halo video to ever Halo. It just perfectly sums up those early 2000's memories of Halo so perfectly. Martin The Spartan, the flag running legend himself, will forever be remembered. Spartans don't die, they just go missing in action.
Just wanted to pop in and say Rest in Peace Martin, this video has given me so many laughs and reading all of these comments from everyone really puts a big smile on my face. Moments like these are one and a million and im sure Martin is still cappin flags in Valhalla
