Jim Bob wouldn't like Jeremy because Jeremy is protecting Jinger. Without Jeremy's intervention, Jim Bob could easily suck Jinger back into the fold. The best thing that they did was to move to California.

The very little I know and have seen makes me see Jinger as very strong. Jeremy may have been a catalyst, but she would have done it regardless. She grew up in the kind of environment that breaks you to the point that you don't know how to move left or right without permission. And something in her fought tooth and nail for survival and her own kind of freedom. She can carry her own sword.

Do Y'all think that's why Jinger invited JoyAnna and some of the others to California to talk with them about their Cult ?? To get them to open their Minds about their Parents ?? Seems like they don't care about the influence that Jinger and Jeremy have on the kids but They Still Don't want Jill or Derrick around them ???? Weird !!!!

It’s very telling to me that it has ONLY been the girls to speak out though. The IBLP is ALL about protecting the men, and putting men on top, even if that means women and children suffering. I’m always telling my white 7 year old son that he was born with all these automatic privileges so it’s even MORE important he stick up for other people who aren’t being treated well. I sure wish the Duggar boys felt the same…but self awareness isn’t exactly one of their core values, so…..
In a lot of ways, it would be even MORE inspiring to see a Duggar MAN speaking out! Though he’d very quickly get slapped with a “woke” label or something for actually caring about women’s rights (eew).

I was watching this show at work early in season 1 or 2. One of my co-workers was very quiet during the show. Eventually, she said, "The older kids are raising the younger kids." She really opened my eyes to that. I think i didn't pick up on it because my sister and I were the eldest 2 of 6. My dad had abandoned us and didn't pay support. My mom had to work around the clock to keep us fed and housed. It was an absolute necessity. But after my co-worker pointed it out, I couldn't unsee it.

The circumstances of Jill and Jinger breaking from the cult were very different. Jinger was not harassed and exploited the same way Jill was about filming. Jinger was never forced to have the births of her children filmed. Jinger never had cameras following her around for the first two years of her marriage. Because Jill was the first daughter to get married and her dad's favorite daughter, things were much tougher for her. About the money part of it, it was easier for Jeremy and Jinger to say they were not going to fight the money because Jeremy had already made over a million from being in professional sports. On the other hand, Jill and Derrick were struggling to pay their bills.

I don’t know enough to make any opinions yet, so I simply saw him being a little too excited to answer questions. But I will say that I didn’t like how he was interrupting and talking over Jinger when she clearly had something important to say. Ok. You guys probably know this, but Jeremy is Italian(or at least from the Northeast if I'm wrong). So he talks a lot, and expects you to jump in when you want to say something. Jinger grew up being taught to Listen to her husband, and had to Learn to voice her opinion. I think they are a great couple. They love each other. They just were raised very differently, obviously.
Also, notice how Jinger did Not Stop talking when Jeremy interjected. Good for her. Her confidence has grown immensely!

    • @t-and-p
      @t-and-p 6 месяцев назад +9

I agree. Whilst I'm not American, so unsure of the regional differences, I definitely noticed that Jinger did not "act sweet" and stop talking when her husband interrupted. She just continued until she got her point across. Considering how she was raised, this means that she must have been encouraged by Jeremy to not stop talking and to continue the conversation, because her actions go against her childhood teachings.
It didn't seem like he was trying to be rude (even if it might look that way to an outsider), or that both of them talking was abnormal, because he didn't glare at her or chastise for speaking, and she didn't look annoyed or worried as she continued speaking. It looked like this was normal for them.

My middle child, a girl, would just end up being quiet. My oldest, my son, would argue with the youngest but it didn’t deter her. She’s an English teacher now and I know she enjoys being “on stage”. Actually, we all are teachers and the middle one now talks and is well-respected for her knowledge but it wasn’t that way when they were little. She’s actually much more like Jinger.

Plenty of other threads on here cleary dislike him, but on this one, most of us have been discussing the points they are raising and kind of mooting them (for instance, OP, Susan, and I all pointed out that Jeremy clearly isn't trying to be disrespectful to his wife and that he is probably just naturally a talkative person).

Matt and Abby have been a couple of my favorite people on RUclips for about 4 yrs. Because they're a genuine, sweet, funny and endearing young couple. So, I feel the need to share whats true about the kind of people they actually are, based on their content and what they, their family members and friends have shared over the years. So for anyone who cares to know keep reading. They were both the sort of goofy, naive, goody two shoes type growing up (still sort of are), a couple of theater kids. Matt didn't kiss a girl until he was 18... and he married her. Despite not being religious, both chose to save themselves for marraige because they felt it was something special and sacred you only share with your spouse. Matt isn't shy about expressing how enamoured he is with his wife, consistently complimenting and building her up. Abby is anything but an oppressed wife. Though they naively showed their 1st son on social media for the 1st yr, they chose to stop when their 2nd was born because, they wanted to protect their children and not exploit them. They started the "Unplanned Podcast" about a year and a half ago and it's grown to be fairly popular. They've had a lot of very well known guests, both from social media as well as celebrities. They're NOT professional interviewers. Their format is just being a regular couple sitting down having conversations with people and asking mostly unscripted questions. I don't do tiktok, but I know their following is huge and they have 5 or 6 million subscribers on their RUclips channel. There are people who hate to see other peoples success and want to tear them down and destroy it. When you have endless hours of content across social media you're bound to occasionally have said things people don't like, came out wrong, gets misconstued, or something that can be cliped and used without the context of the conversation making it sound bad. This is what was done by the RUclipsr who started all of this. I only watched part of the video and was in absolute shock and apalled by what she'd created. It couldn't be further from the truth about the kind of person Matt is. It's a deliberate viscious and malicious attack on a person who absolutely does not deserve it. Negative stories get clicks. The people watching, commenting, shareing and jumping on the cancel bandwagon aren't followers, they know nothing about these people or their content. Their baseing their entire opinion off this carefully crafted lie. They're are a couple of really "good kids" that have had a lot of success making relatively cute, funny and often wholesome videos. Marraige isn't sunshine and rainbows all the time and they've been vulnerable enough share that too at times. They're human just like the rest of us. And better ones than a lot of us. Now someone has compiled a few minutes worth of clips out of thousands of hours of social media content, and packaged it with the intent of destroying this successful young couple. It's insideous. I left a comment on that video in support of them and the truth, and the vultures who eat that stuff up attacked me harshly for it.

I know someone who watched this show early one and had a just beginning to crawl baby. She excitedly told me about this great training she had learned about from a tv show - blanket training. “And the mom has lots of kids so it must work!”
I made a deal with my friend if she could do an adult version of blanket training I would support her. She agreed.
I had her sit in the middle of her couch and she couldn’t move from there for three hours at least. She had to keep her feet on the floor. No phone, no tv but I would give her reading material.
Anytime she violated movement rules or complained loudly I got to squirt her with a water pistol. She agreed to the rules.
I filled 4 water pistols, got 2 towels, and gave her two months old magazines and my old statistics textbook. She laughed and settled in.
I had gone back to school so I figured I had about half an hour to study. Nope. She got bored before that and quit squirted.
In the end I ran out of water pistols before the time was up, she had two wet towels, and her baby was saved from blanket training.

I think her knowing will help with understanding him and I think them being in couples therapy before it’s an issue is great. That aside. I think Jeremy just has a big personality… from someone who also has a big personality. When you feel passionate about something it’s hard to stop talking… buuut I think in this interview Jinger did an amazing job of being patient and taking back the conversation several times. I LOVE in huge giant letters like the Hollywood sign, that jb was so controlling virtually choosing a possible husband for his daughters, the thick questionaires and conversations he had with them. Expecting to pass over his coercive control of them from him as their dad to their husbands, the best and my most favourite part…Joy’s husband and his church/cult allow women to wear trousers, show flesh, as did Jessa’s, then Jill who now has piercings, occasionally drinks alcohol, wears what she wants to wear and Jinger’s husband is far less controlling than jb. Jb expecting all 4 to control the ladies as he did 😂 my apologies I have a head ache and I can’t express myself well sometimes when I get them or after & during migraines.
I remember Jinger saying Jeremy had shelves full of books & she could choose to look at, read or not read whatever she liked. I always thought that was so sad, it’s important for children to learn about fantasy worlds. Lose themselves in the tales of Narnia & the white witch, I loved reading as a child & still do. I remember losing myself in stories, I can credit a man named Gervais Phinn who’s an education assessor here in the UK, he brought me into a safe place where I could forget my depression. He gave me something to focus on & direct my thoughts, if only he could have made me see how abusive my ex was. I even remember where I bought his books the shop went a long time ago.
I remember an anecdote in one of his books, he was observing a class of children, if I remember maybe 6 or 7 years old and a child asked him how to spell s**, aghast he nicely asked her what was she writing, in what context? The sweet child said “I’m writing insects, I can spell in but not s**” 😂😂
If anyone reading this has a controlling partner, work mate, boss, sibling or anyone else get rid of them. YOU deserve to be happy, loved & treated well. In my case it was my ex & to a lesser degree 2 other adults. The workmate got the best way to get revenge, served cold 😂 hilarious story but I won’t prattle on & bore people, I’m also supposed to be doing a little work as I listen 😂 nothing strenuous, cutting out stamped butterflies 😁

I hate to break it to you but Derrick does the same thing with Jill. Yes, it’s good that Jill and Jinger have broken free of the Duggar, misogynistic grip but they still have a long way to go bc neither of them often have interviews without their spouses and I notice that as far as Jill has come, Derrick does a majority of the talking for them.

The thing is that they were trying to produce a lifestyle that revolved around a multigenerational family where the grandmas aunts uncles sisters brothers grandfathers grandmas were all helping each other... and without that it is just the kids...😢

Jinger was in a very different position in as much as Jeremy's and his family clearly were more financially independent. But, how many of her siblings has she managed to get out of the cult?? At the end of the day, Jinger and Jeremy didn't get any money, and were not able to get any of the siblings out of from under the clutches of Jim Bob and Michelle.

I loved being in a family with 7 kids. But my parents weren't trying to have as many babies as possible as often as possible, and I think it's a huge difference in mindset. We're all 2-3 years apart except the last (surprise) baby, who's 5 years younger than the nearest sibling. My family had its issues for sure, but my siblings are the best thing gift from my parents.

I am guessing that their house is not big enough for them. It seemed small as they did the tour. I also noticed that when Jinger spoke about her siblings, she said the oldest one, but then mentioned each other sibling by name. She refused to use Josh’s name.

What happened to the younger kids when their sister/parent got married and moved away? Did Jana have a lot of kids to take care of?

I am glad Jinger is trying to “be nice” so she can help her siblings get out of the cult but doesn’t she realize that posting videos like this will cause Jim Bob to cut her out? When dealing with these people, you have to be either in or out. There is no halfway with Jim Bob

I wish that Jana would come around... I wish she would just say ..enough...snd go live with Jill or Jinger until she can get on her own 2 feet. I have often wondered why is Jana not married ... I am not saying everyone should be, but this cult is all about marriages and babies... Could she be gay??? If she is that is a ok...Could it be that she is the one who was chosen to remain home to look after all the kids??? Does she have something that prevents her from having kids???? That would not surprise me at all that they would not allow her to marry if that is the case..Those 2 should be ashamed to call themselves parents...
