I remember at 16 years old.. prior to getting into bands like Slayer (this woulda been back in 1986) I was listening to bands like Dio, Iron Maiden, Black Sabbath, and Ozzy Osbourne. My mother actually sent me after school with my cassette tapes to talk to the local Catholic priest. She was thinking the music was evil/devil music or whatever. It was funny, as the priest read the lyrics to some of the Iron Maiden songs from the cassette liner and was like : This is not evil music. My mother was flabbergasted that the priest actually dismissed her concerns. I just found it funny.

It caught my eye and then I realized that the guy was Tom Araya, the lead singer of Slayer. I was going to ask for an autograph but as I was taking off my gloves he reboarded the bus and they drove off. I wish I had seen him 1 minute sooner.

Asked a couple weeks ago but consider Hatebreed's cover of Slayers Ghosts of War. Another Hatebreed is To The Threshold. Give em a try! You'll dig it!!

I'm 48, and I've been listening to Slayer since they released and toured Bogart's in Cincinnati. This was to be the beginning of what I consider the best Slayer album. Although it started of very aggressive and what many consider a non deviation from the last album, it goes right into Blood red, and takes a somber yet Thrash metal sound, of what I would consider the birth of Thrash. Each song more progressive than the next and unlike anything they had done before. Seasons is a Masterpiece.

Hahaha! Y'all noticed the skull on Jeff's (blonde hair) guitar, but did you notice the Dead Kennnedy's emblem on it as well?
Well, Tom (the singer) is married and has children (grand children too if I remember correctly). And that's why they are "retiring". From what I've heard, he is ready to hang it up and spend time with his family.

You know the world has gone crazy when two elder women say they love slayer😂😂😂. Absolutely love you two ladies.
A request for a band that changed my life and my view on what music and metal can truly be.
Opeth - the Leper Affinity live at Shepard bush palace.
It's very difficult to pick from their massive selection of masterpieces, but it benefits to see their live stuff and i think personally this is one of their best performances. They are a band from Sweden that have gone through so many changes from progressive black/death metal to progressive rock. I highly highly HIGHLY recommend a reaction to them. Love you gals stay healthy and stay metal.

I've seen Slayer many times, That's 1 of their classics along with the thrash bible called REIGN IN BLOOD from 1986... Angel Of Death, Raining Blood, The entire record is a gem, That's why it's considered by most to the thrash metal bible... Cover a classic Metallica tune, Creeping Death, Battery, Disposable Hero's, Those are great tunes from their early years!

I have a similar story to the story you told in the beginning of the video. As I wore band shirts my whole life since my early teens (I'm 42 now). I am the "black sheep" of the family and always have been. Most of my life I have been judged for every thing I do and like. I haven't change anything about me as a result. I am me and that's the way it is. I was never close to my family or my grandparents but I loved them anyway and probably so them loving me the same. Well, my two grandmothers were pretty much polar opposites of each other. One was artistic, talkative and funny and the other one was quiet, reserved and soft spoken. I loved them both for who they were but I was never really close to them. I lived in my own world basically. One day I happened to be in the same room as the more quiet, reserved grandma was in and I had on a Pantera shirt with a scull and crossbones with fire an random symbols throughout the design. Pantera was and still is one of my favorite bands. She seen the shirt I was wearing and said. "That shirt is so pretty". Lol. I almost didn't know what to say but it meant a lot to me so I said thank you and kinda laughed as I looked down to see if I in fact still had my Pantera shirt still on. Fast forward to her passing (8 years later) I wore a Pantera shirt under my black button up shirt to her funeral and as I was putting on the shirt I said "love you grandma and thank you for liking my shirt". Right when you started the beginning story of this video I had a tear come out almost immediately which I noticed "Granny Haze" was a little choked up too and couldn't even get out the "subscribe and like the video" line as you both do together in every video. You guys remind me of my parents and my grandparents in a lot of ways and it's just nice to see you two like some of the music that I grew up with. I also blessed my parents with mediocre guitar playing as loud as it would go by the way. So I'm sure I was a joy to be around. Lol. -Daniel /Wichita, Ks. ✌😎🤘
