Tape and Cornerbead a Drywall Niche

In this video I'm applying corner tapes and Cornerbead in a drywall "niche". After I will apply 2 more finishing coats of compound overtop with a broad knife to level it, then sand it smooth.

I just put a 50" long niche in my bathroom and want to make sure I tape it correctly. This was the first video I saw and was mesmerized by it, lol... I love that there was no tutorial. Always start from the middle flattening tape...

That's good advice for a long joint across a whole wall to prevent the tape from bunching up. Short tapes makes no difference where the wiping starts. All those tapes wiped perfectly in the video.

I notice this bead is rigid,can you still get the flex metal tape on a roll ? I did this for 17 years but stopped about 30 years ago.

It's common for hairline cracks to form at the corners over time. The extra tape will prevent it.
