I just commented how well it works here in Indiana summer . Multicam works better in early spring and fall in Indiana . Czech vz 95 camo is pretty close to tropic cam
You can use Rit fabric dyes to get the color you want for your AO. I’ve used Green Apple and Dark Green dyes on my old ACU uniforms. To dye equipment, you’ll need to get Rit Synthetic fabric dyes.
The A-TACs is very good in this country but I like the Rhodesian Brushstroke and DPM. Your Multicam Tropic is amazing as it looks dark in low light and brightens up nicely in daylight (if that makes sense!).
M81 here in SC Alaska. 50/50 nyco is a good all-around fabric. Original BDU’s are still readily available. RAID mod the blouse for extra coolness. In the late fall, desert marpat works good.

Wi Spring/Summer my #1 Vietnam Tiger stripe, #2 MARPAT digi woodland, #3 M-81 Woodland. In the Fall OCP/Multi Cam after the freeze and everything is Brown. Winter pure White.
Here in eastern Washington is a lot of open land of varying terrain types. In the last few years we have finally been presented with some camo types with sagebrush wit more grey and brown, tan tones. Mossy oak leaves never fit in here. Good new conifer patterns are good here as well. In the Columbia basin day desert works well.
Good job Stoke!!!! I agree about the camo ,especially in most eastern states ,assorted green types of camo usually works pretty well…Also it’s season (environment)dependent to.. Even though it’s before my time ,I like the old Vietnam era green jungle fatigues and the Tiger stripe Fatigues…
Good vid on the camo. I live in a woodland environment. Winters it's primarily browns and grey. Spring and Summer lots of greens, of course. Different stuff works in different seasons. I do like that shirt you're wearing, going to check them out for warm weather .... Great story too, I'll look for the book as well .... I think we're coming into those times here again, sadly. Corruption and evil seem to be rampant. Thanks for what you do Brother and give the new pup some love from me!
The best camouflage pattern is the one that matches your area of operation... And the season of the year that you are experiencing... I personally like real tree... But it is not always the best one for me
S W Ohio, M81 is the best pattern for Spring, Summer, Early fall, well into the Fall, OCP/Multicam, or Coyote Brown, works well, light snow on the ground, and still some greenery, and the dark browns, a combination of UCP, and Coyote works well.
I guess it could, but the reddish orange color, is not usually present until the fall around this area, Watch Brent 0331 video about the camo pattern, it'll give you a better idea.
God bless you and m81!!! Where I'm at m81, multi cam tropical, usmc woodland marpat, flektarn, some hunting camo and some of the old school winter camos work. Can you send links for the old school videos you have for Alice kit, ect...
After years of doing my own testing in the dense vegetation of Virginia's Blue Ridge Mountains, I concluded I need two patterns actually. May through September it's all Ranger Green. October through April it's all Coyote Brown. Depending on the exact ground I'm on I would mix the patterns of top and bottom. Accessory pieces I just do either of those colors, or substitute OD green or tan (but not light tan). This works quite well and nothing beats just knowing how to move in the woods.
I'm from the appalachian plato area and I've found that colors work well here too. I've also found that there is a color of gray that matches a bunch of trees here it works pretty well on the upper body. It works in the later part of the year once everything has died off. Also if you rattle can anything just a touch of rusty red can help if you're around the more dead grassy areas here (think of foxes and coyotes).
@@Artorias001 Good point, I forgot to mention that grays are a third solid color I mix in for the reason you mentioned- the right shade really blends with tree bark.
I'm in North Texas in a suburban area, but plenty of stretches of green for now. Camo changes with the weather. Here you can get away with something heavy green like M81 Woodland or Russian EMR (if you like that, from March to about mid July. Then you need more yellows and browns, like the Six Color Desert pattern. Maybe still some green from Aug to mid Dec. Then winter, just different shades of brown. Lol
Aor2 would work in the bright foliage there. Marpat or flektarn are good as well. I have a massive camo collection and rock about 4 patterns depending on the area and time of year. Mc tropic is definitely one of my favorites though. Atacs fg is a favorite of mine relative to the time of year. Also a lighter bright pattern.
Rural Indiana in the summer works with tropic cam well . Get some Czech vz 95 camo works great too and even works well the tropic multicam Tropic cam is my top 2 favorite
Yea, given how green it can get I've considered tropic a few times. Aor2 and Tiger do pretty good near the rivers and marshy woods, near me. So I can see tropic doing good as well especially out in the corn.
I enjoy every video that I watch here. The messages are put out there and you feel informed. Even the relaxed ones have meaning. Great job, keep it up.
I kinda like it tbh. I was issued the M81 salad suit and it was good camouflage at the time. This new blouse has some nice new features as well. Thanks for sharing.
Kentucky . Fall Austrian pea pattern parka . Blends great , feels like pajamas although giving it a good water proofing is helpful. Atacs AU is good Winter usmc winter marpat , fits in your bellows pockets or arktis blizzard pattern B310 Spring and summer atacs FG , the old usmc green background ERDL , with slant pockets is my favorite , multicam in fields MC tropic is good except id like to find it in ripstop poplin , as my true spec set is heavy duty fabric, it will last but man its hot when your on the move with gear. Old Vietnam OD green jungle jacket always is a summer work shirt .
The US can learn from this company and its innovations. I think the buttons on tbe pocket allow you to get a opposing velcro piece and cover them and use the bottons for the field. Why they put velcro on a tactical uniform for pockets etc than buttons is amazing. Buttons are quiet and can easily be field repaired! Nice piece of kit. Hefty price tag! Damn!
Im from the Ozarks, love M81 and love Tropic Multicam. My JPC 2.0, is in tropic multicam but i have found multicam can work in the summer for my area when your in the fields during they dry months, as the hay fields are spot on with crye multicam. My base layers (warm weather layers) are tropic and m81 woodland. My winter layers consists of a mix of Khaki browns and multicam for when everything is dead and has fallen
I totally agree with you, another great contender and possibly less expensive is the Greek lizard camo - surprisingly you can find it easy compared to the tropic multi.
Good to see a video on the Kurtz shirt. I have two of them. Great field shirts. One thing I do wish they had that the Crye G3 tops have is a hand pocket behind the chest pockets. Definitely not a deal breaker but those chest pockets are…”handy” when standing around. 😂 The built in tie down loops are great features as well. You said you aren’t sure why they have the velcro and button on the pockets. I’d say the button provides additional security for the closure and when the velcro wears out, the button is there to close the pocket. My guess at least.
I absolutely love my ATACS foliage green or their arid climate pattern. Blends with almost any environment. AO very northern commiefornia, very lush in rainy months and dry. We’re getting our asses cooked right now in this heat. Stay hydrated and be ready at all times y’all 🇺🇸🫡
Rhodesian Brushstroke, British Woodland DPM, Pencott Wildwood, Swedish M90. My favorite is Concamo Green or Brown but hard to get anymore. Germans stopped making it.

Tru- spec makes a tropical multi- cam! I've got it here in the prairie desert of Okla! Works great in this time of the year! M- 81 woodland is perfect here as well! Thanks!🤝🙌🇺🇸👍👍✌️🫡👌
I have the same issue where the greens work well (Pacific Northwest). I can't afford multicam tropic now and have been looking at Midnight woodland from Rothco. They don't have a BDU shirt yet.. Olive BDU shirt works OK. I have been looking at the hoodie product with BDU pants and a Tshirt in midnight woodland.. then some mosquito netting under the hoodie. CADPAT is illegal here. Multicam standard became a fall choice, but I'm still working on a solution. There are greyish hunting camos that blend with the tree bark better that might work better in fall/winter.
I have found it depends on the time of year and the region I am in, here in Alaska. In the summer, in the more temperate regions such as South Central, the Southern Coast, or the Southern Peninsula, M-81 Woodland or Viet Nam era Tiger Stripe works well since we are pretty well covered up in Birch, Spruce, and Alder. On the Tundra, something with a splotchy green/brown/tan (like the Mossy Oak styles). In the fall, pretty much everywhere, the same Mossy Oak styles works. But as the fall progresses (which happens rapidly here) an old set of faded, rust brown Carharts with blotches of red/yellow/and orange paint and you will literally disappear. Pretty much anything to break up your silhouette and there is (generally) enough foliage to conceal even fairly large movements, as long as you don't move to quickly. The biggest thing to ensure you won't spook game or give yourself away is to cover your face and hands. Use a sniper's veil and gloves along with any mixture of clothing that generally isn't too bright and colorful. This has worked well for me for many decades hunting here. I've even had hunting partners that knew I was around somewhere, standing just a few feet away, but they had no idea I was there until I say something like, "Hey, yer in my line of fire. Ya wanna move to the left or right so'as I can shoot?" Usually gets there attention. 😁
Definitely region-dependent variable needs. M81/ OG Woodland, DPM, and patterns like Flecktarn work better/ best in my AO. Only problem with something like Flecktarn is the color palette isn't great, needs variation change, which is one reason why I am developing a better version of Fractal/ Fleck style patterns with color palettes that work more effectively apart from an improved pattern layering and variation. Also something to be said about DIY pattern making, lot of effective implementation and consideration with that too if someone understands their local environment, seasons, and how to do effective palette layering and design nuance effect.
@@BeltFedSelfDefense Danish M84 is nice, but not great for my area outside of maybe 4 months of the year in the heart of summer/ late spring. That pattern could use a little variation to it with palette too for other regional considerations, I do like it though.
In my part of NC I like Flectarn, Multicam Tropic, M81 Woodland depending on the time of year. Also sometimes the Basic Real Tree that looks like Pine Bark with nothing else works good. 95% of the time I am mixing these up as well.
For me in central Alabama the wooden digital pattern works good in a pine thicket or in most places during the winter. The NWU type III digital pattern works good in most places during the summer. I love M81 but its almost to dark in most places, specially during the winter.
South Florida is a real mix with city street, suburban vegetation, native vegetation, white sugar sand, and rich black soil. If I had to chose one Jack of all trades camo, Multitarn may have to be it. Flecktarn, Multicam Tropic, and Multicam can be perfect in select areas, so Multitarn seems the best compromise even if it doesn't excel for most areas.
I tend to be fond of the Waffen SS camo from WW II. The smock/blouse is reversible multi color green on one side and multi color browns on the other. Out of all the camo I've used, this is by far the most effective.
Seattle (Western WA) here, m81 and mct are perfect. MCT is the gucci Im not poor upgrade to the m81 is sexy and readily available everywhere. However, holy hell $270 for that bdu, the truspec is like $100
French lizard pattern seems to work the best on Brent's vids. If I had to default to a camo color pattern, earth tones seem to do well in almost any environment aside artic (and perhaps the blue ocean. Looking at you Navy).
I could not understand the worlds hate towards woodland.. I am an ex-recce (Canadian ) from the Olive drab days... We were envious of your woodlands.. and least our helmets had it.. Up here in northern Ontario Canada Our mag uses olive pants , with woodland tops (Mainly US or Yugoslavian) ... and in the browner areas and times civilian realtree on top ... and of course whites in the winter ... great video and review thanks
Central Texas, multicam does work pretty well for the most part, in the summer and winter when its really dry DCU and multicam work great. Penncott Badlands though is my favorite and very effective here.
M81 and chocolate chip by far my favorite then desert night vision camo. As far as the best camo, probably realtree or mossy oak. And there’s nothing even close….
I also live in the southeast and I agree to an extent. Yes multicam tropic is best in spring and summer but if it’s an area with taller trees then there will be a good environment for multicam year round. Most of the greens are not at ground level or six foot above. Even though I am 50 I play airsoft with my 10 and 12 year old boys and I find multicam to work great. I am also of course a concerned and well prepared citizen. I have been strongly considering the tropical top for summer. Also before anyone makes fun of airsoft I promise you it’s one of the best ways to work the bugs out of your gear. Yes you can patrol and do other things but in airsoft you are accessing your kit and constantly changing mags. I have not found a better way to shake out your gear and equipment.
Great video. I came to think of conclusion not long ago. With the climate change, they some deny, that is really happening. Up in the north, the tropical weather and vegetation and animals are starting to creep up north. So the tropical camo starts to make sense.
Atacs IX mixed with FG works well in my PNW neighborhood. Blends in well with cloudy grey days with all the urban green vegetation and drab building colors. M81 in the summer, at least trousers.
The Multicam tropic looks like the love child of M81 and Multicam. Works nice.
Agreed.
Finnish m05 camo check it out. Comes in summer, winter, and extra winter.

Truspec has multicam tropic
I like that camo. 👍✌️🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
It should be the area you are in.
Very good story! I’m in Northeast Ohio, multi cam works good, but what you’re wearing looks like it would be very good as well
Northeast Ohio? Northwest PA here brotha!

At night German SS Mint Blur.
I use tiger stripe for S Florida
I like a-tacks ix camo for north-central and north-east Texas. That’s what I run
I have not found a better way to shake out your gear and equipment.
the one that doesn't get you killed
I would like to see camo tests conducted on this pattern please
Great video. I came to think of conclusion not long ago. With the climate change, they some deny, that is really happening. Up in the north, the tropical weather and vegetation and animals are starting to creep up north. So the tropical camo starts to make sense.
Atacs IX mixed with FG works well in my PNW neighborhood. Blends in well with cloudy grey days with all the urban green vegetation and drab building colors. M81 in the summer, at least trousers.
M81 Woodland is #1 at any price.
Multicam tropic is #2
(I live in the SC midlands)

Love your content Stoker! ✌🏻
Unpopular but I really like Multicam. Works well in Ohio environment.
