@@sallyvaughan1231 hi! I would say we felt generally safe traveling in India, but we had moments where we didn’t. If you are a solo female or in a small female group, I would exercise fairly high caution. If you’re a couple/group with men I’d exercise above average caution. Our biggest problems were petty scams and aggressive street dogs. (We had a couple of uncomfortable experiences with people too, but were able to get out of them) Our only interaction with the police was because so many people stopped for photos with us in a road, that he needed to break up the crowd. We did contract an easily treated parasitic infection while there, but not really bad acute food poisoning. Avoid eating produce that does not have a peel or cannot be blanched/cooked. Avoid ice. Drink only bottled water. Avoid street food. Most hotels/guest houses should be ok. Google reviews will help because you can check for hygiene. You can taxi. They have rideshare apps that kind of work (can be scammy though). We found them to be reliable in Delhi, but hit or miss in other cities. Or hire a tuktuk. Overall it’s very hectic and intense hahaha. We’d go back though. Lots of high moments, followed by lows. I think just be prepared to be scammed out of a few extra dollars each time and it’ll just go a lot easier. 🤣
Funny thing you mentioned that the baori looks like a movie set, because a portion of Batman Begins by Christopher Nolan was shot in a similar but bigger place in Jaipur, called the Chand Baori. And when Bruce Wayne finally makes is out of the cave/prison, you see Mehrangarh fort in the background.

In Australia 🇦🇺 when people go riding their horses, they don't wear Jeans like Cowboys do in America, they wear Jodhpurs. I don't know if they were an English (Raj) design or an Indian design.
So sorry I missed your reply, but I just saw it! I did not know about Jodhpurs in Australia! I wonder.. it does look like something that could have come from that region, doesn't it?
@@IfWeGoTo I've since read more on this topic, and there's a comprehensive article in Wikipedia, which give the history of the design. It was indeed designed in India by the ruler of Jodhpur 😁

I don't know if you are in India or filmed this long ago but one thing that can make your experience in India unforgettable is Trying luxury (hotel) in Udaipur , the Venice of the east. India's luxury side is very underrated and not much explored in Internet except some Hindi vloggers but essentially it's the best experience in India you can have in the city of Lakes Udaipur.
This was filmed a few weeks ago! We'd definitely love to try the luxury hotel experience one day, unfortunately it is a bit out of our budget as long term travelers at the moment, but maybe one day we will get the opportunity! :)
I think a lot of people in the west have not heard of Udaipur… Venice is well known because it was a major financial and maritime power during the renaissance, but also very beautiful nowadays. I don’t think they meant their comment as like a bad thing, I think it was more of a compliment about Udaipur’s beauty and water features.
LOVED THIS VIDEO, PLEASE TRY GOING TO NORTHERN INDIA LIKE IN THE MOUNTAINS , PLACES LIKE *NAINITAL , KASOL , SHIMLA(QUEEN OF HILLS) , KASHMIR(HEAVEN ON EARTH), LEH LADAKH , AND THE OTHER BEAUTIFUL VALLEYS NEARBY , IF U GUYS DONT LIKE MOUNTAINS , THEY U SHOULD SURELY VISIT , SOUTH INDIA, AND NORTH EAST , BOTH THESE PARTS ARE JUST LIKE TRVALLING TO OTHER COUNTRIES , THE CULTURE , THE LANGUAGE , THE FOOD , EVERYTHING CHANGES . I HAVE SEEN MANY FOREIGNERS JUST LIKE YOU , EXPLORING ONLY FEW NAMED CITIES : JAIPUR , JODHPUR , DELHI , AMRITSAR , MUMBAI , AND AGRA," , AND THEY ALL GET A PERESPECTIVE THAT INDIA IS JUST ABOUT THESE CITIES, IT ISNNT LIKE THAT, ALL THESE CITIES ARE JUST A MAJOR TOURIST SPOTS , AND THERE IS VERY LITTLE PEACE. GO TO THE MOUNTAINS AND YOU WILL FIND YOURSELF SURROUNDED BY DIVINE SERENITY , AND PEACE. IT IS INEED OFFSEASON , SO PRICES WOULD BE FAR MORE CHEAPER FOR ACCOMODATION. IF YOU WANNA GO TO SOME OF THE BEST BEACHES ON EARTH , GO TO GOA , ANDAMAN NICOBAR ISLANDS. ( YOU CAN SEARCH MORE ABOUT THESE PLACES ON RUclips ), I HOPE YOUR CHANNEL GROWS TO 100k SOON

@@IfWeGoTo hope you will enjoy our culture and food 🙂
We definitely did!! Thank you! :)
❤
Thank you!!
@@IfWeGoTo Thanks to you sir for visiting India ❣️
@Ankit_inspire_india thank you for your warm welcome! 🙏
It must have been -really- Pretty Cool
It was great!!
Ahh cool to learn!! Thank you for sharing! :)@@BrassLock
Guys must try the heartbeat of our Rajasthani foods which is DAAL BAATI CHURMA 🤤...must tru the local street food like.. KACHORI, samosas, panipuries, chole bhature, faludas etc etc.
Ahh thank you for the recommendations!! I bet they are all so delicious 😋
The women jump because so that they can't be taken by enemies who would rape them or make them do bad things
That makes a lot more sense!! Crazy times 😱
@@IfWeGoTo Plz check out padmawat Bollywood movie
Oh we will, thank you!!!
Come to Northeast India guys you can make nice video here lot's of love. Tk care and stay safe by bye...❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Yeah we will definitely have to check out NE India next time! Thanks for watching!
And your vlog is awesome tooo
Aww thank you so much!
Why Venice of the east , Why Can't Venice is Udaipur of West ?
I think a lot of people in the west have not heard of Udaipur… Venice is well known because it was a major financial and maritime power during the renaissance, but also very beautiful nowadays.
I don’t think they meant their comment as like a bad thing, I think it was more of a compliment about Udaipur’s beauty and water features.
@@prafullacpandey It's just to give a understanding to the people of West. We Indians don't call it Venice of East but 'city of Lakes' mostly.
@@prafullacpandey because people use example of popular places to compare to lesser known places. No need to get triggered.
Thank you so much, and we really appreciate your recommendations!!!!
Welcome to Odisha ❤️

Guy is calm like a sant ❤
He is very calm and sweet!! Thank you!!
Did you feel any change in your perceptions about india?
Like from visiting Jodhpur vs other cities?
Or from visiting India for the first time?
I mean about the difference in perception the westerners have about india
Hm, I think it would depend on the Westerner... for us I think it was a better than we had expected :), but we also have Indian friends & a bit of travel experience so we had some idea of what to expect beforehand.
Sounds like you're upset, you ok?
@@IfWeGoTo yes 😂 i am okay
Great to see Americans step outside America and see the world. This from an Indian who lives in America!
It is definitely an amazing opportunity to see what else is out there and expand our horizons! We hope you are loving living in America! :D What part do you live in?
Such a stupid comment. Americans are all over the world. Get out from your bubble. You can't rule the world if you are sitting home.
This is blue city of INDIA and Jaipur is pink city.
Yes!! We were lucky to get to see both!! Each beautiful in their own way!
There were more then thousands killed in that stamped! I still remember that day!
Oh we didn't know that! We thought it was only a few hundred.. that's so so sad :(
Seems like the guide is telling you only the bad stories to you.
I think he was interested in some of the history that stuck out, would love to hear some of the good stories too though if you have any!!! 😃
If you have time please visit north east (7 sister) ladak, kasmir, odisha, Andaman Nicobar, lakhyadeep, pondicherry these place are unexplored part of india and hidden gems of india ...
We definitely need to see a lot more of India! Thank you for the recommendations!
@@IfWeGoTo you always welcome brother..
There are 7 Sisters and 1 Brother in North East region of India. That's means 8 States in NE region of India. But Foreign nationals are allowed to explore very few places in our NE region of India until they don't carry Inner Line Permit Certificate from Government of India and clearance from respective States Goverment of NE States. Only Bangaram Island in Union Territory of Lakshadweep Islands of India is given permit to foreigners but that too they have to registered their name at Kochi Office in Kerala State.
They loved it!
Aww that is awesome! So happy to heat that they enjoyed it!
